Wednesday Morning Musings, Cupcake Review!

Good morning and happy Hump Day everyone.

Let me start with this, the cupcakes that E-ve so wonderfully provided me with are fantastic. I ate three of them last night and loved every bite. The fresh, plump raspberry on top of each was a great touch. Well done!

Last night was calm and quiet as I ate cupcakes and flipped through the sporting events I held interest in until they were over. Congrats to Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays on becoming the first 9 game winner in the American League. He has once again put himself in the running for a Cy Young Award. The win over the Angels was a good way to come back from and off day, and after that terrible losing streak on the road the boys in blue are 3 out of their last 4 and 7 of their last 8 at home.

Side note: I was giddy like a school girl for a minute or two the other day when I read an article at http://www.bluejays.com/ that quotes J.P. as saying if the Jays play well in June it may mean we go out and try to get a player that could help us win the East and make the play-offs. Fingers are crossed. So are toes.

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, the Penguins finally scored more than one goal against Chris Osgood and the Red Wings and it resulted in a win. #71 had another good game recording 3 assists and Marc Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots to lead the Pens to their first win in the best of 7 series.

I’ve been on a tear as of late reading the comics that live on my shelf that I’ve already read. I’m tempted to go and get more, but that’s money that doesn’t need to be spent. If anyone has great ideas on how to get around this, let me know. I’ll barter for new ones, borrow new ones, even beg for new ones. And no Jake, this isn’t be coming to you asking for more. I’m just sayin’.

The 3rd Annual Walter Gretzky Street Hockey Tournament starts Friday in Brantford, ON and I’m still tempted to go up there to see Kevin Smith. The last, and only time, that I saw the chubby film maker was on Yonge Street in the winter and he was across the street before I could snap a picture of he and Mr. Jason Mewes. His coming to play in the tournament is a great thing as it has dudes like me thinking about going up there to donate money to the elder Gretzky’s foundation when otherwise I probably wouldn’t be at all interested in making the trip.

The sun is once again shining down on the streets of Toronto and it’s starting to heat up out there. Soon I’m going to need to work on my tan so I’m not afraid to make a fool of myself by wearing shorts in public on my days off.

Fanboys (2008) has been released on DVD, the day came yesterday and I am excited. Futureshop has a $16.99 sticker on it according to a friend, and I’m thinking of going to get it as E-ve told me that she’d watch it with me.

It is my Friday today, which Jake reminded me off this morning in a text message. I was happy to see it. And kudos to you sir for knowing that the Jays had beaten the Yankees during their series.

Romeo, if you’re out there, keep cheering! Chubby Chavez will have his chance to come through and help the team win again.

Have a great day people of the internet, and if I don’t write tomorrow have a great one of those too.

Like wham!
