Saturday Morning Musings, Back To Work Edition

What up world?

Big love to E-ve, here’s hoping that you get to sleep in this morning.

I put on the Rick Dees countdown this morning and so far I’m not sure how I feel about it. There was a Jonas Brothers track to start that Rick says he thinks could go all the way to #1. That was followed up by Taylor Swift who is still on the charts with Love Story. (we lurve her so much) And the 3rd track that played was the new Eminem. I would very much be okay with never having to hear from him again. It was something to bob my head to when I was stoned in 1999, but ten years later I am very much over it.

I held my breath last night as I watched Roy Halladay leave the mound early during the Jays game. They are saying groin strain but no idea how sever it is this soon. Fingers are crossed, prayers have been said and wood has been knocked on. This guy needs to be healthy for us. As shown by the final score in the game, Marlins 7 Blue Jays 3. The difference was a grand slam by centre fielder Cody Ross in the 8th inning. Le sigh.

I was happy to breathe a sigh of relief later in the evening though when Marc-Andre Fleury dove across the net to stop Nicklas Lindstrom’s final attempt to tie game 7 in the final seconds.

I am not a Sidney Crosby hater. I agree that Sid has been propped up by the media and been waved in front of our faces since he was just a teenager. However, it is hard to argue with the heart and leadership and determination that he shows on the ice. The guy took his lumps and kept on going. And for everyone that says he complains too much and looks for penalties, take a look at the game tape to see how many times Alex Ovechkin had his hands up looking for calls this post season. I like that comparison because most of the Sid haters are in Ovie’s fan club.

Side note: I had the Penguins in 6, so I will admit that I was wrong in my specifics of the pick. However, I did get the winner right, just like I did in the first week of April when UNC took the NCAA Men’s Basketball title. More than anything I just wanted to remind everyone that UNC won the title.

It was also pretty cool to see Mario Lemieux with the Stanley Cup raised over his head. I was 10 the last time he did that.

Watched the Luke Wilson flick, Henry Poole is here, yesterday in the afternoon. It was pretty heavy, but Mr. Wilson did a good job. I like that he took the role and played it well. Big ups to that guy.

Also got to catch Canadian flick Foolproof on ShowCase yesterday. I love that movie. Ryan Reynolds looks young and the cast was pretty good and at the end of the day everyone should enjoy this movie.

Jake and Romeo went to see The Hangover this week and are now convinced that we should all go to Las Vegas. I think that it could be a really fun trip, however, I do think it should be better planned than trying to do what those guys did. If you haven’t seen the movie, go take a look, then you’ll know what I mean.

I am not ashamed to say that Lady Gaga is catchy with her singles and I enjoy when they come on the air.

Side note: Maybe I should be.

As E-ve has reminded me, next Sunday is Father’s Day. Don’t forget to call your pops, tell him thanks for being there and such. If you have a chance to get him a tie or something of that ilk I’m sure he’d appreciate it.

Happy Saturday everyone. I hope that the sun shines down on you where ever you may happen to be.

Like wham!
