Tuesday Morning Musings, Back To The Mall Edition

Good day lovelies.

Here’s hoping that the 2nd to last day of the year has started well for you all.

Big ups to E-ve for winning games night with her friends. I hear that she did an awesome victory lap. In fact it was her that told me about the victory lap. I’ve very proud.

It is hella cold today. The wind chill is killing me. It’s a scarf and leather gloves kinda day my friends.

We’ve had some pushes and rushes here at the store over the last few days. Hopefully they will show up on my paycheck.

This is starting to look like a quick fire by accident.

Condolences to the Ottawa Police and the family of the slain officer. Early this morning a person attacked an officer while he was sitting in his car doing paperwork. He stabbed the officer to death. It was the first on duty murder of a Police Officer in Ottawa since 1983 I believe. But that’s still not long enough. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family and colleagues.

Sad faces made their way through Montreal Canadiens fans last night as les boys couldn’t hold an early 2 goal lead and lost to the Ottawa Senators. I was not a happy guy.

I love my E-ve a bunch.

I also love Jake and Romeo.

And Julia and Heath.

All great people.

I’m getting a little hungry. Not sure what I’m looking to eat though… Turkey would be awesome.

I have some shopping to do tonight and tomorrow. Wish me luck and wisdom.

I should get going. It’s the middle of the afternoon.

I hope that you all have a great day. And if I’m not back again I hope you have a great New Year ’s Eve.

And, as per always, if you’re only here this one day of the week… We’ll see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Living, Loving, Laughing Edition

Good morning folks.

Welcome back to the work week. Unless of course you’re off for observed Boxing Day in Canada. I am not, so if you are… boo to you.

Big ups to E-ve who has a busy day of lunch shift, games night and other awesome activities planned for the day. Fingers crossed for big tips and big wins in her very near future.

We had a great time at the comedy show last night with Julia. Thanks again for the invite. The comedians were funny, fresh and fast paced. The highlight of the night was Debra DiGiovanni doing jokes that we hadn’t seen before in previous shows. She is super hilarious.

Had another pretty good night in the hockey pool yesterday. Not fantastic, but alright. I’m hoping for Montreal and Ottawa to have an unexpected high scoring game with Tomas Plekanec and Mike Fisher leading the way for their squads.

I took Mike Fisher this week because he’s been pretty darn good since his engagement to Carrie Underwood was announced.

I love my E-ve.

I have the itch to play board games. E-ve and her friend are having game night tonight and Julia hosts some awesome game nights. And now I wanna have one of them. I just don’t want to get beat too badly by E-ve at her new Trivial Pursuit game.

It’s gearing up to be a slow day here at the store. We’re going to have to find ways to entertain ourselves.

They say that we could get 1cm of snow this afternoon. It would be 1cm more than we have right now.

They also say that the wind could make it feel like -20 Celsius tomorrow. I don’t like that prospect.

Time to go and find something productive or entertaining to do.

Have a great day.

Sunday Morning Musings, Getting Ready To Laugh Edition

Good day folks.

Sorry for the delay. We were both busy at work and bored and distracted. It’s a situation that’s always changing.

Big love to E-ve who is at work now and then coming to meet me later.

Very excited to be meeting up with Julia and her bf so that we can see the comedy show tonight at Absolute Comedy. Free tickets are the best thing ever.

Also, E-ve and I are trying to come with NYE plans. So if anyone has great ideas that you want to share feel free to let us know.

Happy to see the Raptors leading the Pistons at the half. Here’s hoping for a good effort in the second half and another win to build on. I’m sick of seeing the team in the bottom half of the weekly power rankings at www.espn.com

Best wishes for feeling better go out to Heath. We all hope that you get better soon so that we can see your pretty face.

Jealous of Jake who has season 4 of How I Met Your Mother and a day off on the couch today.

Quite happy with the result of the Toronto vs. Montreal hockey game last night. As a Hab fan I’m not sure that we should have won, not sure that we should have had to go to overtime, but I’m happy that we got out of town with 2 points in the standings.

Also happy to be in the top 425 nation wide in the CBC Fantasy Hockey Pool after last night.

A little concerned with the state of the World Junior Hockey Tournament after Canada beat up on Latvia to the tune of 16-0 yesterday. The argument for running up the score is that Goals For can be a tie breaking factor in the tourney. But it’s sad to watch at the end and I start to feel bad for the young men on the teams that are losing those games.

I think that’s all I’ve got for y’all today. If I think of anything else I’ll tweet it. I’ve got to start doing a better job of that.

Have a great Sunday.

Saturday Morning Musings, Thankful For A Great Day Edition

Good morning friends.

I hope that you all had a great yesterday!

I would like to get thanks out of the way because they are needed.

-Thanks to E-ve for coming to Mommy Z’s after she visited her family yesterday. Best gift of the day.

-Thanks to Mommy Z for hosting me and bringing the family together.

-Thanks to Grandma for a great dinner.

-Thanks to all of my friends for the text messages and love and merry Christmas wishes.

I had a pretty great day. Mommy Z was able to start her new tradition of Mamosas in the hot tub Christmas morning. We had a nice brunch, opened gifts, saw all of the brothers and my sister at the same time for the first time in way too long and went back to the farm for dinner.

E-ve really completed the day by coming way out to meet us. The weather wasn’t great, but she powered through.

It was also nice to see snow on the ground Christmas morning. It wasn’t fresh snow, but it was there.

Back at work today. But it’s not so bad I guess. Getting out of bed this morning wasn’t nice, or easy, but I did it.

We’ve been watching movies on the big TV at work today so far. Right now it’s Angels & Demons. But later, we’ll be watching World Junior Championship hockey.

Canada takes on Latvia this afternoon in their first game of the tournament. It should be a relatively easy game for our boys. But nothing should really be taken for granted I guess.

I think that’s it for now. There’s not much going on, but I’m sure I could find something.

Have a great Boxing Day my Canadian friends.

Thursday Morning Musings, Merry Christmas E-ve Edition

Good morning one and all.

It's Christmas Eve and I'm excited.

I'm at the GO Train station right now, ready to head off to Mommy Z's house with gifts in hand and a big smile on my face.

Big huge thanks to E-ve for helping me to get everything for the family. They are big fans of hers and quite excited to have her coming for dinner and hang out time tomorrow.

I have about 5 or 6 Christmas carols rolling through my head in one big mash-up. It's weird.

Tonight is church and then visiting with family friends in the country.

I just promised E-ve that today's title would not included and Ho Ho Ho jokes.

I think today will be a good day to play with the dog and the kitten until they are tired and then play some Wii.

I'm a lucky guy.

Merry Christmas wishes to Jake, Romeo, Heath, Julia and all of you. Please pass them on to your friends and families.

I think that's all for today my friends. Short and sweet.

Tuesday Morning Musings, 3 More Sleeps Edition

Hola amigos.

Here’s hoping that your 3 sleeps left will be happy good ones.

Big ups to E-ve who found some last minute presents for friends last night and may have found something for herself as well. Bon job.

Happy to report that the Montreal Canadiens won in overtime last night to take 2 points out of Atlanta.

Big news out of Ottawa as hockey player Mike Fisher and country music superstar Carrie Underwood have announced their engagement. The women in Ottawa are heart broken as they have always had a crush on Fisher’s blue eyes. And dude all over the place are crushed because it’s Carrie Underwood.

Currently watching/ listening to The Hour Holiday Music Special on the CBC website. There is some top shelf talent on this thing. I’ve heard Michael Buble and Norah Jones so far and am impressed and smiling.

I’m very impressed that former Toronto Blue Jay Roy Halladay paid for a full page ad in the Toronto Sun thanking the organization, fans and the city of Toronto for their support over the last 15 years. The team is very much in the midst of a building stage, and Roy will be missed for his ability and personality.

Looking forward to Advent chocolates and a movie with E-ve tonight.

Also looking forward to just enough snow to make it look like Christmas. That would be great.

A day full of memories in my family today. My thoughts are with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and my dad and brother today. We’re all loved, never forget it.

I think that’s all for now folks. I hope that you all have a great today and a better tomorrow.

Oh, and as always, if you’re only here this one day a week, we’ll see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Another Quick Fire Edition

Good day folks.

I hope you all had a good last weekend before the holiday season pinnacle.

It’s late today so I’m going to go with a true quick fire edition today.

Big ups to E-ve. She is the awesome and I love her.

Thank you’s to Jake and Mrs. Jake for the Christmas gifts that were picked up today. Very excited to sit down and watch Wonder Woman and Superman/Batman and the rest of the Justice League.

Maybe I’ll even be able to talk E-ve into watching a little bit with me.

Very sad news, as I’m sure you’ve heard, that Brittany Murphy has passed away at age 32. There are rumours of course about the cause of death. But we won’t be spreading any of them here.

Watching Christmas at the White House on the computer as I’m typing.

Big ups to Chicago Blackhawks goalie Christobal Huet who had a big shut out against the Red Wings last night. Those were big points for me to pick up in the pool.

Talked to Mommy Z yesterday and hammered out some plans for the holiday break. It will be nice to get out there. It makes me happy.

For the record, Mommy Z’s voice sounded most excited when she heard that E-ve was planning on being able to come for dinner.

Congrats to James Cameron whose flick Avatar was #1 at the box office over the weekend. I don’t think there was much doubt that it was going to happen.

High fives to everyone that got all of, or even the bulk of their shopping done early this year, because it’s super crazy at the shopping centres right now.

Alright, I think that’s all for now. I hope that you all have a great week, great holidays and I hope that you can stay warm.

Sunday Morning Musings, Open House Edition

Good day fellow web heads.

Here’s hoping that the weekend hasn’t been too unruly or crazy so far.

Big ups to E-ve’s friends for having a great gathering last night. Pretty cool that they all still find a way to hang out all these years after high school has ended.

To my own amazement I have not started counting sleeps.

I did remember to call Mommy Z yesterday but I got the answering machine.

Best wishes to E-ve and the family while they host their holiday open house today. Wish I could make it.

Best wishes for safe and happy travels to Jake and the Mrs. as they make their way east. And merci for whatever happens to be waiting at the Greyhound station.

Big win for the Habs last night with Andrei Markov back in the line-up. 2 goals for the All-Star in his first game back since opening night was a beautiful sight for his fans.

The Raptors game is on CBC HD in the store right now and my co-worker and I are both hoping for a win that the team can build off of.

I’m really digging on The Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan’s version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/ We 3 Kings. It’s catchy, fun and Christmas-y.

Random ups to Romeo. And Heath. And Julia. Love you all.

Okay y’all. I think that’s it for now. Too much going on to keep going.

Have a groovy Sunday.

Saturday Morning Musings, We're Back And Rested Edition

Hola amigos.

Welcome to your Saturday.

I hope that everyone enjoyed my 3 days off as much as I did.

There was a lot of napping, TV and Brick Breaker. In fact, I have a new personal best on the Brick Breaker now with a score of 26690. Go team me.

I also got to do some volunteering with E-ve at Community Centre 55 last night. It was a mess of people all trying their best to help a good cause. And for the most part things went quite smoothly. I only wanted to take control 2 or 3 times.

Big ups to E-ve for having the idea and for inviting me along for the ride. She’s pretty awesome with the giving.

She also makes great cookies, which in a bone-headed move I forgot to take home with me last night. D’oh!

Wishes of safe travels and happy times as Jake and Mrs. Jake get ready to head to Eastern Canada tomorrow for the Christmas break. The winter tires are on the car and it seems that they are both excited for the trip.

I had a great week in the hockey pool and ended up with my highest single week total in points over the last 2 seasons. Here’s hoping that I can keep that roll going next week.

The year is coming to an end, and that means there are a lot of year in review lists popping up all over the place. Here’s one of my Year’s Best. Most Romantic Song W/ A Piece Of Farm Equipment Involved: Big Green Tractor, Jason Aldean. Thank God for Country Music.

Someone please remind me to call Mommy Z later today to try to make plans for next week. I’m excited that it looks like I’m going to have some family time with E-ve there as well. That thought makes me a very happy boy.

Exciting news for Montreal Canadiens fans as world-class Defenseman Andrei Markov may be set to make his return to the line-up tonight. Fans of the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge are quite happy with this news.

I don’t think I’ve seen many smiles bigger than the ones I’ve seen on musicians making their first appearance on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry. That would be a once in a lifetime kind of thrill. If anyone out there is looking to grant wishes, please add that one to my list.

It’s a clear sky and cold day here in the city. The wind is blowing through at about 15 km/hr which is bringing it down a touch as well. Bundle up if you’re going out.

I think that’s all for now. 3 days off left a lot to say though, so I may be back with a 2nd hit today. You never know.

Tuesday Morning Musings, The Christmas Spirit Is Here Edition

Good day amigos.

Welcome to day 7. That’s right suckers.

Big ups to E-ve for letting me know that Vernon Wells is at Fairview Mall today. I asked her to go and ask him how his wrist is. I need the insider information.

E-ve is less concerned about his wrist and more concerned with him being her secret boyfriend.

Cheers to Jake as he gets ready for his days off this week as well. Everyone gets to hang out and relax and recharge.

My day has been way too busy… holy eff.

Here’s to everyone that is in the Christmas spirit. I had a huge boost of it last night.

This is what happened. I was bored at home watching TV and I decided to check on the Twitter feed. One of my favourite Country Music acts, Little Big Town (@LBTmusic) wondered out loud whether or not they should make a Christmas album next year. I RT’d and answered with a YES PLEASE at the end of the message. And then, to my surprise, they answered back saying thank you and that they would see what they could do. I was excited and blushing I’m pretty sure. I’ve messaged Shaq and Kevin Smith and Kristen Bell and Little Big Town was the first to come through with a response. It’s also awesome that they are a fantastic and talented group with heavenly harmonies.

After the Twitter episode I caught the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas on the CBC and after that I stayed tuned in for Frosty the Snowman.

I was so full of the Christmas spirit that I put on CHFI 98.1 FM radio to listen to Christmas music as I went to sleep.

But I didn’t eat my Advent chocolate.

Tonight my very favourite Christmas special of all time is on the CBC. Mickey Mouse’s A Christmas Carol has been my fav for as long as I can remember. Mommy Z has a copy on VHS that I probably watched 5-10 times every holiday season. <3

It’s chillier in the city today. But not as cold as Alberta, so I’m not complaining.

It looks as though the Roy Halladay trade saga will soon be over. He will be headed to the Philadelphia Phillies and we will get a bunch of prospects in return. Such is life as a small dog in the American League East.

I think that’s all for now friends. I hope that you all have a lovely today and tomorrow as I may sleep in and lack ambition.

And, as always, if you’re only here this one day a week, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Pickin' Winners Edition

Good day folks.

Here’s hoping that Monday has found you well.

Shout outs to E-ve on a day off for laundry and baking.

There’s a ton of tension here today and I don’t know why.

The weather has gotten much warmer, and that’s awesome! But along with the 2 to 4 degree temperatures is the rain.

I’ve done a pretty good job picking NFL winners this week. There have been 15 games and I have picked 12 winners. That’s not too shabby. Almost makes me wish I had put some money down. But then again, I probably would have lost 6 more games if I had.

Today is day 6 of 7. My tank isn’t empty yet, so that’s good. And then after day 7 there are 3 days off in a row. And that will be a good chance to recharge the tank.

E-ve is going to make a call today to sign us up for some holiday volunteering this week. I’m pretty excited. It’s been a long time since I gave back in a concrete kind of way.

Congratulations to Disney as they made $25 million from the Princess and the Frog. That’s a pretty good number for a movie that could have legs. I can see this being a big player in the holiday season matinee game. Parents that have to find something for them and the little ones to do will line up for sure.

I >3 Batman.

Listened to Kevin Smith on the Dean Blundell Show this morning. Dude is laid back and funny when there’s no pressure or script. The call in wasn’t long. But it was an okay start to the day.

This grey weather is a downer on the Christmas spirit.

I sent a message to Shaq on Twitter the other day but didn’t hear anything back. He’s doing some pretty cool stuff with give aways in Cleveland so I asked if he would be bringing some stuff to Toronto on his next trip. Maybe I’ll check the schedule and sent a more specific request next time.

I think it’s time to split for now. Have a good one folks.

Sunday Morning Musings, Happy Birthday To T. Swift Edition

Good morning friends and foes.

I hope that everyone has arrived at Sunday in one piece.

Big ups to E-ve… and to me for that matter as we have got ourselves all caught up on Advent chocolates. It was a mission that we loved undertaking.

Birthday wishes go out to your girlfriend Taylor Swift. She’s 20 years old today. 1 year away from a crazy, wild, outrageous, scandal inducing party in Las Vegas.

The Raptors game is on TV right now. Everyone here is hoping for a big home win. We need it.

Great night in the hockey pool. I’m only 6 points off of the overall lead. Keep your fingers crossed for continued production from my 12 dudes.

CBC is starting its Christmas special line-up tonight with Rudolph and The Polar Express. I’m not sure what I’ll be watching, but those 2 programs are on the radar.

Looks like E-ve and I are going to be doing some holiday volunteering this week. It’s always good to give back when you have the chance. And this is a good time of year to remember what you’ve got that other people may not.

It’s cold and rainy in the city today. They are calling for wet snow later in the day, so we’ll see what happens I guess.

High fives to everyone in cyberland. Keep checking the blogs and the Twitter and the everything for all the cool stuff that ends up on the interweb.

It’s a slow day in the store so far. We have a promotions girl here today and I kinda feel bad that she really doesn’t have anyone to promote to.

My coffee is starting to lose its heat. I think I better pound it back.

Have a great day mes amis.

Saturday Morning Musings 2, Things To Do Edition

-Get ready to watch the World Junior Hockey Tournament on TV

-Think hard about finding a new job

-Enjoy the holidays

-Obtain and eat fruit cake

-Skate

-Relax

-Not shovel snow

-Send best wishes to everyone in the world!

Saturday Morning Musings, Oh My Gosh Edition

Good morrow mes amis.

Happy Saturday morning. I may be at work, but it doesn’t really mean that it can’t be a happy Saturday anyway.

Big ups to E-ve. She’s le awesome and even though I still don’t really know what to get her for Christmas I lurve her.

I’m sitting her listening to Glee soundtrack music again and I wish I had some acting ability and a little more singing ability because I would totally wanna make a fool of myself auditioning for something if I thought there was a real chance I could get a part.

The official announcement has been made, @ThatKevinSmith will be at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto on February 6th, 2010. Tickets are on sale now with the password or whatever they call it “woobs”. Use this knowledge for good folks.

Much love and best wishes go out to all of our friends that have celebrated night one of Chanukah. Here’s hoping for 7 more great nights.

This hot coffee may be the only thing keeping my fingers on the keyboard and my forehead off of it.

We found the Christmas music on the iTunes radio! The day is now a success no matter what may happen from here on out.

I feel dirty. I just picked a Toronto Maple Leaf in the hockey pool for this week.

All righty, it’s chilly, but not bitter, there’s no snow in the air, they say it’s gonna rain tomorrow and be above 0 again and Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. WTF?

Getting ready to watch some NCAA Basketball today on the HD because there are no afternoon NHL or NBA games. Pro sports fail.

Remember this; if you live in Toronto and still need an H1N1 shot you have today and tomorrow to get it before the clinics close for a holiday break.

I have a craving for cherry glaze. And I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t really matter what it was on.

Kevin Weekes exclamation of “Oh my gosh!” may have been the best call on a big save in NHL hockey this season. It happened last Saturday during the late Hockey Night in Canada game between the San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames. Miikka Kiprusoff of the Flames made a great save and followed it up by kicking the puck out of the air, backwards, with the blade of his skate as it neared the goal line. Oh my gosh indeed. Visit www.tsn.ca and watch the Top 10 for December 12 if you haven’t seen it yet.

I think that’s it for today. I’ve got Christmas carols to sing along to.

Friday Morning Musings, You Lucky Few Edition

Good morning folks.

It’s Friday. The last day of a regular dude or dudette’s work week. Lucky bastards.

Watched some funny TV last night as Community got in on the holiday fun. E-ve fired me a text to tell me it was a funny episode so I checked it out on the time shifting. Very amusing. Big lovely thanks to E-ve for the heads up.

The Disney countdown is now over. The Princess and the Frog is now in theatres. Disney’s first black princess is ready to make her way into your heart with her singing and dancing and story. They say they’re looking for a new classic. There are supposedly no pop culture references in the flick, which is probably a great thing.

Next week is Avatar. There is all kinds of buzz around this one. The effects in the movie look outrageous in a good way.

It’s cold this morning. Like the weather folks say -20 with the wind factored in. Balls I say. I’ve got my gloves and scarf and hat all ready for the trip home tonight.

Sad loss for the Canadiens last night. But an aggravating loss for the fans of the Habs. Referee Chris Lee blew his whistle early and unnecessarily and cost the boys the tying goal in the last few minutes of the game. There was more booing in the Bell Centre than I have ever heard. Even more than Patrice Brisebois heard in the bad days.

There are 8 hockey games tonight, 12 hockey games tomorrow night, a Raptors game on tonight, college basketball on tomorrow afternoon and I’m not sure what to watch. My mind has so many options that it doesn’t know what to do.

I think that’s it for today. I’m sure there are lots of things that I could be doing right now. Like watching curling or working on the crossword puzzle.

Have a great Friday mes amis.

Thursday Morning Musings, Gleeks Unite Edition

Good day to you all.

Here’s hoping that your week has been good so far. We’re already at Thursday… that means it’s almost Saturday. And that’s a countdown I am happy to get in on.

Big ups to E-ve. I’m still trying to think of the best Christmas presents and birthday plans. If anyone out there has any ideas please let me know. (including you, E-ve)

The door to the store is icing over like crazy. It means that we can’t see who’s coming in the store. We don’t like it.

Working on next week’s hockey pool picks. Need to have a couple good weeks leading into the holidays. It’ll help lift the spirits.

Today’s confession: I’m a Gleek. That’s right. I said it.

Quick fire.

I’m distracted.

We’re going to try to stream Glee from last night.

The Maple Leafs look to avenge themselves after the embarrassing loss they suffered at the hands of the Bruins on Saturday.

Every time I see the Slap Chop commercial I’m amazed that Vince is allowed to say “You’ll love my nuts”.

Reports say that Roy Halladay could go to the Angels or the Phillies. I think it makes the Phillies the odds on favourites in the National League… but I like the pieces that the Angels have to offer in return for the ace.

It is cold and windy and snowy and I don’t like it. If it wasn’t for the wind I think I’d be cooler about the whole thing.

Batman is le awesome. I know, it’s not news. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be said from time to time.

E-ve, Jake, Romeo, Heath and Julia are also the awesome!

I think it’s a good time to call it quits for the day. I hope that y’all find a way to stay warm.

Wednesday Morning Musings 2, Checking My Lists Edition

Tis the season for lists. Lots of lists. So, building from this mornings Christmas carol list we’ll see what else we can list up.

Christmas carols:

-Oh come all ye faithful

-Oh little town of Bethlehem

-The Christmas song

-Santa baby

-Hark the herald angels sing

-Silver Bells

-Grandma got run over by a reindeer

These are just some of my favs. I can remember mostly singing Silver Bells and Grandma got run over by a reindeer in the basement of Grandma Z’s house while Mommy Z played the piano. Great memories that make me wish I had learned how to play that piano.

Current Countdowns:

-Christmas

-New Year’s Eve

-E-ve’s birthday

-Chuck returns to TV

-2010 Olympic Winter Games

-My birthday

-Jake’s in a new play

I’m sure that there are more things that I’m anxious for, but that’s a good sample I think.

Christmas wish list:

-Socks

-Underwear

-Comic books feat. Batman, Trinity, Green Arrow or Kevin Smith’s writing

-Crown Royal

-Laptop

-Writing gig

-Cash money

-DVD’s

-Candy/ chocolate

I don’t want for much really. I’m pretty satisfied with my possessions. Socks and underwear would be awesome though. Ever notice how it’s a lame gift when you’re a kid. But then you grow up and stop getting them and all of a sudden you realize how great it was?

Favourite Christmas Specials:

-Rudolph the red nosed reindeer

-Frosty the snowman

-A Charlie Brown Christmas

-A Colbert Christmas

-Shrek the halls

The top 2 or 3 on this list are probably the same as many other people out there. But there are a million more specials that have been made and shown over the years. If I’m missing some great ones let me know.

I think that’s all for lists. I’m still here at work trying to come up with a way to waste the rest of the day. I’m on day 1 of 7 in a row and then there will be a reward of 3 days off. I don’t know if I’m lucky or if it’s still just retarded. Oh well.

Big love to my E-ve. She’s the one that has to put up with me asking for the things on my list, singing the carols, watching the specials and talking about Chuck and the Olympics. Pity the girl.

Talk to all later. Odds are strong that I’ll be back tomorrow for the Thursday Muse.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Messy Weather Day Edition

Good day all.

I hope that you are all well and surviving whatever weather has been thrown your way.

Big high fives to E-ve for cheering for the Habs and against the Sens last night with me. Thank you for your support, I know it goes against your usual hockey beliefs.

Also a special shout-out to Romeo who messaged me this morning about the win.

Here’s hoping that Jake is enjoying his day off and maybe even practicing his lines between sets of Rock Band awesomeness.

Tis the season for Christmas carols. There are even some carolers in the mall near the store here. I didn’t catch what they were singing as I walked by, but it was cool to see them.

Favourite carols
-Oh come all ye faithful
-Oh little town of Bethlehem
-The Christmas song
-Santa baby
-Hark the herald angels sing
-Silver Bells
-Grandma got run over by a reindeer
-etc.

I remember singing with Mommy Z while she played some of those on the piano when I was just a wee Wally. Good memories.

For the record, when I said that I was ready for snow I didn’t mean like this. I wanted some white stuff on the ground. Not snow, then freezing rain, then rain and gusty winds and then freezing temps tomorrow. Balls.

Gatorade dropped Tiger from its list of endorsement reps. They say it’s not based on the recent goings on.

Please drive safely if you’re traveling in the next few days, weeks and months. It’s the winter people. And the roads are different than they are in the summer. Be smart about it and deal accordingly.

It looks like it could be a long day at work with the bad weather and our location. Doesn’t bode well for walk in clientele.

I think that we’ll call it quits for now. Love out to everyone.

Tuesday Morning Musings, So Many Countdowns Edition

Bonjour my friends.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope it treats you all well.

A reminder that I love all of you for reading. But I love E-ve the most. She's the awesome. And her birthday is 30 days away. Ask her, she'll tell ya.

Watching the seconds tick off the clock in a classic Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup game 7. Gretzky and Messier and Anderson and Kurri and Coffey and Fuhr and all the rest of that amazingly talented team made the game look easy at times. The only problem is that I'm watching the Flyers broadcast so there's no CBC love for the Oil. But lots of love for Ron Hextall in his rookie year play-off run.

Since E-ve's birthday is only 30 days away my math tells me that Chuck is on the air in 33 days. How amazing is that?! I have some concerns about the writers ability to keep the heart of the show now that Chuck is a man with the knowledge and skills to do a real spy's job. Part of what was lovable about Chuck was that he shouldn't have survived or excelled. I'm excited to see how it goes.

Also on the countdown list is Christmas. Of course. Yesterday I put up a little wish list on the quick fire edition. But what I'd really like is some family time over the holidays. To see Mommy Z and the brothers and sister and grand parents Z and some old friends maybe. And to have lots of E-ve and me time. I wish the bank account and schedule would allow for some Jake and Romeo time too. But since Jake is going to be away it seems like a good idea to wait for another time to visit any how.

This is a day off, mobile edition of the muse so I haven't checked out Yahoo for any fun news or anything.

But I can tell you that I picked up no less that 12 points in the NHL pool last night. So go team me.

I think we'll call it a done deal here for now mes amis. We might be back later just like yesterday. Who knows.

And, as always, if you're only here this one day a week, we'll see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings 2, Quick Fire Evening Edition

Alright, here’s the deal. I know that I already Mused this morning. But I figured that there was no harm in Musing twice.

So, let’s look at some quick fire action and see where that takes us.

-I Love E-ve. A lot.

-It’s snowing in Toronto. Hasn’t started staying on the ground yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

-I’m probably going to skip lunch.

-I’m itching for Christmas Carols but can’t find an iTunes station playing them online.

-The Discovery Channel is amazing in High Def.

-Sometimes I wish I had a credit card. Other times I’m glad I don’t have one.

-I’m excited that Jake is going to be in another Musical in the spring.

-A little sadness gets to me every time I pass the hotel that Romeo and Jake and I stayed at now that it’s closed.

-Confession: Twitter does more than keep me up to date on people’s business. It makes me feel connected when I otherwise feel lonely.

-I yearn to do more.

-I’m excited for the 2 final Harry Potter flicks.

-I would love to have an arm chair in my apt.

-Christmas wish list:
-Batman comic books
-Socks
-Laptop/ notebook
-Veronica Mars seasons 2 and 3
-A publishing deal
-More readers on the blog
-An idea on how to fit the mini fridge into my floor plan
-Wonder Woman animated DVD
-Superman/ Batman: Public Enemies DVD
-Lots of turkey and cranberries
Thank you

-My thoughts are prayers are with Heath as he gets better from some rough health stuffs.

-Kevin Smith’s writing is uber-witty to me and many other people. Some times I worry though that it rubs off on me too much.

-Still need plans for New Year’s Eve.

I think that’s a pretty good list of quick fire info for now.

Here’s hoping that you’ve all had a great day.

Monday Morning Musings, Breakfast Is Important Edition

Good morn y'all.

I hope it's bright and sunny where ever you may be.

Big love to E-ve. She's the bee's knees.

Monday has come again. For those of you hoping it would just pass us by, I'm sorry. Pray harder next time maybe.

Attention people of Ottawa: you need to go out for breakfast more on the weekend. I know it's cold and the snow is coming, but you're used to that crap. Deal with it. And while you're at it, tip well, be polite and don't move the tables. Thank you.

This A&W coffee isn't so bad. It's not great, but I've made worse.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the Russian club goers that passed away in that tragic fire recently. Reports now say that 113 people have died as a result. It's a sad thing to have happened and I can only hope that the same thing never happens again.

I have the urge to splurge on comic books. Only 1 problem. There's no money to splurge with.

Commerce is preparing to start its day at the Eaton Centre. Folks are arriving and unlocking gates to their stores.

All the weather reports show that I should expect snow today.

Off tomorrow and Wednesday. Unsure as to what my plans are. Pay day doesn't come until Thursday so I'll probably just be chillin' at the apt. Here's hoping there are some good cartoons on TV.

Big ups to my favourite Auntie who called and left me a message last night. I wonder if we can get her on Twitter.

Speaking of Twitter... I'm most certainly there at least thrice daily. www.twitter.com/wallyzblogger pretty catchy eh?

I need a hair cut.

Did I mention that Mommy Z has a kitten at her place now? And a black one at that. She says there are a few white hairs on him though, so it should be alright. Little dude's name is Black Jack.

I'm a happy boy after yesterday's NFL football action. The Colts and Saints both continue to be undefeated and Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins! We discussed it at work yesterday, and I think the Tom Brady thing comes from 2 places. 1) I've always cheered for the Colts and Manning since he came to the league. 2) The Patriots crossed the line of everyone cheering for a good team, to a team that just won too much and needed to be brought down a peg.

High five's to Canada's Speed Skating team who won 13 medals at this weekend's event. Things look good for Vancouver 2010.

I think that's all the rambling I have in me now... But it's still early, maybe we'll run a second edition later today.

Sunday Morning Musings, Looking For Cash Edition

Good day to you all of my friends and family.

Happy Sunday from the sunny and cold streets of Toronto.

High fives and high hopes for E-ve at work this evening. If you’re out for dinner, tip well. Tis the season for Christmas presents and such. All of your servers will appreciate your generosity.

Big win for the Toronto Raptors in Chicago last night. If the Raps can look this good on a regular basis it might become easier to cheer for them. I might even try to go see a game.

Here’s hoping for some sales on a short work day. Football is fun to watch and all, but I need some money.

Speaking of football, the game to watch today is certainly going to be the Colts vs. the Titans. The Colts are still undefeated at 11-0 and the Titans are on a roll since Vince Young became the starting QB in Tennessee. I’m going with the Colts at home, but don’t be surprised if this is a close game that is tons of fun to watch.

The countdown is getting shorter for Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. Opening night is December 11th for what people are hoping is the next animated classic. There will be music and jokes and bright colours of course, and if we’re all lucky, it will be good.

I’m almost excited for snow.

I’ve started alright, but not great, in the hockey pool this week.

Christmas carols have started playing in my head.

The wrong football game is on the TV.

I kinda miss Mommy Z.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

I think that’s all for today. Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Musings, Go Heels Go Edition

Good day folks.

Welcome to Saturday. The weekend. And I’m at work.

Big hopes for a smooth but profitable day for E-ve at work. Smile big if she’s serving you, she’ll smile back.

Great moment at the start of the day here at the store as a little dude got his mom to stay here so that he could watch some Dora on the TV. Little man didn’t even blink for what seemed like minutes at a time.

Cabbie is on the TV right now. This guy is entertaining. There aren’t many people that get the reaction from athletes that he does. Smiles, laughs, hugs, the whole thing. Good times.

It’s chilly here in the city today. When I left the apt. to come to work it said -4 on cp24. That’s colder than what I was prepared for. I’m glad that I decided to wear my scarf. And then someone had a window open on the street car. I don’t understand people sometimes.

Big love to E-ve for bringing some awesome food over after working. The burger and mashed and gravy were excellent.

The sports geek in me is hyped for UNC vs. Kentucky this afternoon. I’m hoping that my tar heels can win on the road and show the world that they are still an elite team and a legendary program.

There’s still no snow here.

Was talking to Mommy Z the other day on the phone and it she now has a cat. I never, ever, thought the day would come when she had another cat in house.

I think maybe it’s time to tap out for now. There are some other projects on the board for today.

Have a good one mes amis.

Thursday Morning Musings, January's Coming Edition

Good morning friends.

High fives to E-ve on a Thursday. She’s le awesome.

And high fives to NBC for bringing Chuck back on January 10, 2009. And because I am excited and that January 10th is coming soon, I am also excited that E-ve’s birthday is coming even sooner.

We have watched 7 minutes of Chuck previews on YouTube this morning. He’s gonna be able to play guitar and speak Thai and fight like a real bad-ass.

Sad news to report from the Metro Toronto Zoo. Tara, a 41 year old African Elephant has died at the zoo. Tara was the matriarch of the herd in Toronto. The reported regular life expectancy for African Elephants in captivity is 40-45 years. I’m not an expert or anything, so I don’t have a scientific point of view here… all I know is that it’s sad.

Just finished picking my hockey pool dudes for next week. I’m taking a chance on a couple of guys. I’m hoping that they get the vibe and play like they are super stars. For the record, they aren’t.

I wish that I was just a little bit smarter. The crosswords at the end of the week would be faster. No comments from the peanut gallery please.

It was 8 degrees when I woke up this morning. And the weather forecast says that it will be 3 by the time I leave work to go home. That doesn’t seem fair at all.

I have some pretty awesome people in my life. I’d like to thank them for being great and supportive and loving to me.

Time to sign off. Things to do.

Have a great day.

Wednesday Morning Musings, We're All Here Edition

Hola amigos.

I hope that everyone has had a good Wednesday morning so far.

Big shout out to E-ve for being E-ve. I wouldn’t want her any other way.

Almost a disastrous night of sports last night on TV. The Raptors and Canadiens lost at home to teams that aren’t good. No offense to any Washington Wizard fans out there. And UNC was dangerously close to losing at home to Michigan State. It was not good.

Big ups to Jake on his days off. Here’s hoping your Rock Band til you can’t Rock Band anymore.

I should be thinking about what the get Mommy Z for Christmas, but this no snow in Toronto thing really has kept me from getting into the buying spirit.

There are new developments in the Tiger Woods saga. I’m not really interested in blabbing about them here, but they are all over the internet if you’re curious. It looks like he’s made some mistakes and wants to try to make changes in his life. Fair enough.

I have strong urges to watch cartoons right now.

Also to read comics.

And to sing.

And to nap. Maybe that explains all of that.

Big thanks to all of my friends and family for being great.

And here’s hoping that the rest of your today is fantastic.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Callback Edition

Good day to all.

Big shout outs to E-ve. No particular reason, just lots of reasons all over the place.

Well done to Jake who has his call back for a new musical tonight. Everyone I know is pulling for him.

Watched Angels &Demons yesterday… I have to say that I was disappointed with the effort. I know that budget and time were a concern, but there were so many parts to the book that were left out altogether. Good try Ron Howard.

Today is World Aids Day. A big shout out and thank you to everyone that has ever fundraised, supported and fought for the rights of Aids patients and their families. Remember that this is a disease that knows no race, religion or creed.

There’s still a lot of buzz surrounding the whole Tiger Woods fiasco. I only hope that the truth wins out, whatever it may be. The media circus has almost out done itself this time I think. But the people seem to love the info, so they aren’t going to stop any time soon.

Big Original 6 match up tonight in the NHL as les Canadiens take on the Maple Leafs. I’m hoping for a good game, a couple of points from Kaberle and Plekanec and a win for the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge. #gohabsgo

I’m pretty sure that it has been announced as official, there was no snow in Toronto in the month of November. It’s the very first time that has happened since records started being kept at Pearson Airport in 1937.

On a related note, snow has started to fall north of highway 7 and it’s sticking to the ground. Winter is on its way my friends.

It’s past lunch time here mes amis. I should probably try to focus a little more in the store.

Here’s hoping that your day goes well. And as always, if this is the only day you’re checking in, we’ll see you next Tuesday.

Sunday Morning Musings, This One Took A While Edition

Good morning ladies and gents.

Happy Sunday y’all. Here’s hoping that you’re all fed and satisfied.

Big ups to E-ve who worked last night and goes back in tonight for the big Grey Cup game on TV.

Also big thanks go out to her super cool co-worker who gave her a lift to the subway station last night after work.

I’ve lucked out and found the best thing on the internet. Are you ready for this? A knock-off of Lemonade Tycoon for free!

This friggin’ day is taking forever. There’s a guy here trying to train a girl that’s tough to train. There are people in and out of the store that aren’t customers because they aren’t buying.

This thing is killer short today.

The day is still crawling. Son of a gun.

Raptors lost the Steve Nash and the Suns. Boo.

Big thanks for lots of love from lots of people.

The snow has started falling in Western Canada. I’m kind of jealous. I don’t know if I’m ready for snow. But it does look pretty on TV.

Okay, time to go.

Have a great afternoon mes amis.

Saturday Morning Musings, Hopes For A Good Day Edition

Hola amigos.

Welcome to Saturday. I hope that everyone got here in one piece.

Big high fives to E-ve who has a long day at work ahead of her. Here’s hoping for big smiles and big tips.

Thanks go out to E-ve for letting me play a whole lot of Lemonade Tycoon yesterday. And I was awesome. I bought all of the upgrades available and got back to $10,000 cash in 8 months. Oh yeah!

Had a good finish to the week in the CBC.ca hockey pool. I am looking for more this week as there are a lot of teams playing 4 games and some good picks on my roster. Go Ducks, Canucks and Blue Jackets.

Huge thoughts of encouragement and positive energy are going out to Jake as he is auditioning for a role in a new production. He’s got talent and I’d be happy to make another trip to Ottawa to see him on stage.

There’s one hockey game on today at 1pm. We’re going to do our best to watch it here in the store. We may have to stream it though since it doesn’t look like it’s going to be available on Canadian TV. Boo!

Ok, so I know that January is still a little ways away. We haven’t even hit Christmas yet. But I’m already trying to come up with a good plan for E-ve’s birthday and I’m getting excited for Chuck to come back. In that order. It’s getting tricky trying to come up with and separate ideas for xmas and birthday, but I’m doing my best. Maybe a Chuck themed cake and awesome spy stuff for the birthday. I’m mostly joking.

Getting excited to crack open the Advent calendars soon. A yummy piece of chocolate each day on the way to presents. How does it get any better?

There’s been a bunch of work done in a short little amount of time here.

Time to check out for the day.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Oh What A Night Edition

Good day my friends.

Here’s hoping that your hump day has gone smoothly so far.

Big ups to E-ve. You wanna know why? Because she’s le awesome.

Good night for me to watch sports last night. I got to see the Toronto Raptors get a win at home against the Pacers of Indiana and also got the see mes Canadiens come back in the 3rd period to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Habs and Raps are both back in action tonight and I’m hoping for more wins. Fingers are crossed and cheers are being sent through the interweb. #gohabsgo will ring strong through Twitter tonight.

It’s been a dreary, rainy day here in the city and it is as dark as midnight outside now. It sucks to be honest.

The big stores have started to advertise some pretty huge sales my friends. If you are in the market for TVs, computers, video gaming systems or anything else of that ilk it may be time to look into them. Good luck.

Excited to sleep in tomorrow.

Watching the fall finale of V right now on the computer. I saw the first half last night, hoping that the second half is fantastic.

I still have cupcakes left at my apartment. I bet you’re all jealous.

I think it’s time to check out for now. I’ll talk to you later y’all. That’s right, I said it.

Tuesday Morning Musings, A Little Later Than Usual Edition

Good day friends, family and faces all over the world.

Big ups to E-ve for continuing her higher education. Bon fait!

Just spent half and hour trying to explain the reason that there is fighting in hockey to my Irish co-worker here. The whole time I felt like I was fighting a losing battle. I’m starting to even wonder myself if there is a real need. I know it won’t go away. And I know that things are better than they used to be as far as that stuff is concerned. But hockey may have just lost a potential fan because of fighting. I wonder how many they have gained because of it… Just something to think about.

I was also just informed that the Irish aren’t taking the loss to France and the hand ball incident well. They have taken to protesting at the French Embassy in Ireland and there are bunches of Facebook groups dedicated to hating the French player responsible (Henry) and demanding that the game be replayed. FIFA has said that they won’t replay the game.

I think that E-ve and I may have now made plans for Christmas and my birthday… that leaves plans for her birthday. I’m gonna have to do something good here my friends. So if you have any ideas please let me know. I have about 6 weeks to get this thing figured out. Thanks.

The Maple Leafs tried their very hardest last night to win their game against the Islanders. But they came up a goal short in overtime. Good effort gents.

I had a fantastic dinner of shwarma and cupcakes last night. The wraps were good with a hint of spice rocking through them. The guy wasn’t joking when he said that it was hot sauce that he had. I also love that he’s a funny dude that told me that I “broke his dreams” when the cupcakes I had weren’t for him.

I have a craving for McDonalds hockey cards. Not so much the food, but the hockey cards.

They say that there could be snow here in Toronto soon. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I know that it will make it feel like Christmas actually is coming. But it also means that I’m going to have to dress for the weather. I’m not sure which I feel is more important.

I’m starting to get a little hyped for the Grey Cup.

The fall finale of the new hit show V airs tonight. If you haven’t been watching I don’t suggest trying to jump in tonight. But I do recommend trying to find the episodes so that you can watch them.

I think that’s it for now peeps. That’s right. I said it.

And if you’re only here this one day a week, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, More Like Evening Edition

Good day y’all.

Sorry we didn’t get on this morning. You know how it is.

Big ups to E-ve for being le awesome. Don’t let her try to tell you any different.

And big ups to YTV for playing 8 Simple Rules and What I Like About You back to back every night.

Thumbs down to all the people that have come into the store and asked silly questions that have done nothing but make my day seem longer.

The AMA’s were on last night. I watched part of Janet Jackson as she opened the show in a terribly ugly outfit and then didn’t go back at all for the rest of the show. It’s the AMA’s. I’m not worried about it.

The Raptors dropped a winnable game against Orlando yesterday. That bums me out a little.

But there were 2 good CFL playoff games and we now have a Grey Cup Final set with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes playing for the big mug for the very first time. Calgary is going to be rocking this weekend for certain.

Very proud of my nephew for being a huge superhero geek.

Mes Canadiens have made a trade that surprised the heck out of me. Bob Gainey has sent Quebec native Guillaume Latendresse to Minnesota for Benoit Puoliot. Part of me thinks that Lats is going to have a bunch of success now that he’s going to be out of the spotlight in Montreal. The media and fans wanted this guy to be a hero because he’s got some talent and he’s French. The problem is that it’s not that easy.

It is friggin’ hot in this store. The heat is broken so it just keeps blasting in here. Mon Dieu it’s toasty.

I think it’s time to wrap to things up since it’s way past the morning now.

Have a good night mes amis.

Sunday Morning Musings, Tis The Season For A Bonus

Good morning friends.

Big ups to E-ve for surviving Daddy Z’s Christmas dinner and hang out yesterday. It was a good time with Turkey and the fixings and little kids with presents.

High fives to the Good Lovelies who won the award for best New/Emerging Artist of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards last night. I grew up with one of the girls and was lucky enough to hear her sing with her mother and her sisters at church when we were younger.

Sad to see the Montreal Canadiens lose their first game in overtime/ shoot-out last night. The Detroit Red Wings got out to a 2-0 lead and then sealed the deal in the shoot-out. It was a good effort and I’ll take the 1 point and put it in the bank.

Congrats to the Maple Leafs for picking up their 4th win of the year after knocking off Washington in the shoot-out at almost the exact same time as the Habs were losing. The remote control got a work out for a few minutes.

New Moon has apparently passed The Dark Knight for most money made on opening day. I’m not surprised because the hype was huge for the flick. But a lot of people seem to be taking it personally because they aren’t Twilight people. Oh well.

These 20 Timbits had better last me the day. I don’t plan on going to buy lunch.

Big thanks to the owner man who gave out some cash bonuses last night at the company Christmas party. I’m not sure where the funds will end up, but they are much appreciated.

Big sports day today. NFL and CFL football, NHL hockey and NBA basketball. Vince Carter and the Orlando Magic will be in Toronto to take on the Raptors. Be prepared to hear boos even though it’s been a long time now since he was in a Dino uniform.

Time to get to work for the day. Here’s hoping that everyone enjoys their sunny Sunday.

Thursday Morning Musings, One Day Donation Edition

Good afternoon friends and family and others.

Here’s hoping that everyone has lasted this long in their weeks. If you’re a Monday to Friday, 9 to 5er you’ve only got one day left. Way to go.

Big wishes for a smooth day to E-ve who has class and then work. If she’s serving you dinner remember to tip well, she’s got tuition to pay.

The weather is nasty today. There’s a constant mist in the air and the clouds have rolled in to give us grey skies and gloomy people. There are lots of umbrellas out and about on the side walk helping folks stay dry. Big thanks to E-ve as I have her umbrella.

Just a gentle reminder to anyone using an umbrella today: You are sharing the sidewalk, and if you have a big umbrella it helps everyone if you can stay to one side of the sidewalk it would be appreciated. I walk faster than most people it seems and not being able to pass someone and their huge umbrella because they are ambling down the middle of the concrete path really gets my goat.

Busted out a great tie for work today. It’s a black number that has a wicked pattern. I haven’t had it on in quite some time, but I do like it a bunch. Big thanks to E-ve again because it was her find.

It’s day 19 of Movember and let me tell you, some of the moustaches out there are looking more and more awesome each day. Mine doesn’t even start to compete with some of the others I’ve seen in pictures and on the street. Well done gentlemen.

Here’s a great way to support a great cause today. The Princess Margaret Hospital is holding a one day fundraiser for its 1 Day Diagnosis Centre for Breast Cancer. They have made it crazy easy to make a donation. Send a text message to short code 30333 with the word “give” in the body. You will get a confirmation request back and you can reply to confirm your $5 donation. The other awesome thing, which may be even more awesome is that media mogul Allan Slaight will be matching all donations, made by any means, dollar for dollar. This has the opportunity to be a fundraiser that changes and saves lives. I encourage all of you to send one text message, add $5 to next month’s cell phone bill and help save a life.

Keep up the great work being great friends. You’re doing an awesome job.

Adios for now.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Working Is For Suckers Edition

Good morning all.

It's a mobile quick fire edition as I'm not even at work yet and we're coming up on noon.

Big ups to E-ve at her lunch shift today. Here's hoping for big tips.

Big Habs win last night in the shoot-out. Carey Price made a highlight of the night save with his skate blade to win the game over the 'Canes.

Big let down for the Raptors as their first half 11 point lead in Denver turned into an 18 point loss. Not as bad as the 39 point drubbing last year, but not great to watch in the 2nd half. Chris Bosh was man handled at times in the post but only took 2 free throws all night. Coach Jay Triano was less than impressed with the officials to say the least.

H1N1 vaccines have now been made available to anyone that wants it in Toronto. Line ups may be long, so please be patient.

It's a sunny day with a high that should reach 10 degrees... We'll. See how warm it really feels this afternoon.

My new Irish co-worker is wondering if she'll ever see snow.

High fives to the Twitter crew. You're a sometimes entertaining, sometimes informative bunch. Keep up the good work.

The buzz for New Moon just keeps growing. If you're looking to go to the movies to see something else this weekend I'd suggest going early because ticket lines could be long.

The blog here is now over the 250 post mark. Doesn't mean much, but I think it's pretty cool.

I think that's all for now folks. Gotta get posted before I head underground.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Tuesday Night Edition

Allo!

Today was a busy day at work. We didn't sell much. But I felt busy most of the time.

A lot of that was watching Russell Peters, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory.

But some was talking to customers.

Yay to E-ve for another successful day of higher learning. I'm very proud.

The Maple Leafs and Senators are playing out the battle of Ontario right now. At last check the score was 1-1 with 3 fights so far.

Watch out for this #81 kid in Toronto. He's a sniper without much support so his numbers could be inflated. He may be worth looking at in the pool.

Good luck to Heath who is going under the knife tomorrow.

Christmas with Daddy Z is this weekend. That should be interesting.

I'm thinking that tonight is a good night for my first pack of McD's hockey cards. For this season of course.

There's a guy with a guitar on the subway with me. He's not very entertaining. That's too bad.

Here's hoping you all had a great day!

And if you're only here this one day of the week, we'll see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Good Lovelies "Under The Mistletoe" Edition

Bonjour mes amis.

Welcome to Monday. I hope that your weekend served you well.

Big ups to E-ve for being herself. She’s a pretty awesome person. No debating that at all on my end.

Exciting news as today is the release date of an old friend’s Christmas album. “Under the Mistletoe” is a big undertaking for the Good Lovelies and here’s hoping that continued success comes their way!

The sun is out, but it’s a chilly morning here my friends. E-ve and I have fired a few texts back and forth just now and I think we’ve confirmed that summer is officially over. Sad faces have taken over all over the place.

All reports show that the Santa Claus Parade was a success yesterday. I didn’t watch it on TV like I used to when I was a kid, but I’m sure that lots of people did. Planning for the 2010 parade starts today for the dedicated team of people in charge.

Thinking about stopping in at the hotel down the street from my place to see what they’ve got as far as TV’s go. The sign out front says that they are selling them for $25. It’s an interesting idea.

Popeye’s Chicken was a great treat for dinner last night. The girl at the counter looked at me funny when I asked for the family meal (it was the deal of the day, what was I supposed to do?).

Here’s hoping that your day goes as well as I hope mine does.

Sunday Morning Musings, I'm A Gleek Edition

Good morning fellow web nerds.

I hope that everyone has made it to Sunday.

It’s a big day here in Toronto as Santa Claus is making his pre-Christmas visit in the annual Parade named for him. Remember that there will be road closures downtown if you had planned on driving anywhere in the city today.

It’s also a big day for football both north and south of the border today as the CFL puts 2 play-off games on the field and the NFL runs its regular full schedule. I’m predisposed to cheer for the B.C. Lions in the early game, only because it’s really hard for me to even think about cheering for the Hamilton Tiger Cats. They’ve come a long way and are in the play-offs for the first time in 5 years, but that doesn’t make it okay. Arrrrrrrrrrgooooooooooooos!

Because I’m a huge geek I’m sitting here rocking Glee songs on YouTube whilst I write today. I love the arrangements and the harmonies and the fun and really I just love music.

There are some good looking moustaches out there as we hit the half way point of Movember. I hope that every time you see one you are reminded that they are (for the most part) being grown for a good cause. Prostate cancer is a mean bastard and the only way to beat it is through education, early detection and treatment. The more we learn about it the better equipped we’ll be to take control of it for good.

Sports quick fire

-The Maple Leafs dropped their game to the Flames last night despite out shooting the Calgary squad handily.

-Les Canadiens lost in embarrassing fashion in Nashville as they were out shot by what seemed like 100 shots. Carey Price stopped a record tying 53 pucks and was still saddled with a 2-0 loss. Le boo.

-The Raptors tip-off against Canadian hero Steve Nash tonight in Phoenix in what should be a very high scoring game. At last check these were the highest scoring teams in the Eastern and Western conferences respectfully.

-It’s free agent season in baseball and I’m just as excited as I am during the regular season. Let’s see if A.A. can do anything in his first winter as the GM in Toronto.

I’m thinking about stringing the Christmas lights around the apt now that we’ve hit November 15th. That has always been a good date for decoration starting in my books.

Also, my ‘mo isn’t so intimidating with glasses and a shirt and tie. I think I need to change into a leather jacket and jeans later.

I think we’ll call it a day here folks. Time to get some work done.

Saturday Morning Musings, Santa Claus Comes Tomorrow Edition

Good morning folks.

I’m back to work on a Saturday… and it’s slow.

Big ups to E-ve and the family as her mom is home and everyone is smiling just that little bit more.

I’m riding the Philadelphia Flyers hard this week in the hockey pool. Here’s hoping that they can pot a bunch of goals and Ray Emery can pick up some wins.

The weather is still nice here in Toronto and it looks like it’s going to continue tomorrow for the Santa Claus parade. Remember to get there early to get a prime seat.

I watched a bunch of CMA clips this morning on YouTube. I think the best one by far is the Zack Brown Band covering Charlie Daniels’ The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Those guys are rock stars singing country music.

The Raptors mounted a huge comeback last night… after I had given up on them and changed the channel. It was a win that they needed to start another west coast swing. Good job les boys.

I got a little too excited last night when I saw the commercial for Lego Rock Band on TV. And then I felt like a bad person when the drummers arm fell off in the middle of Queen’s We Will Rock You… because all I could think about was how awesome a transition to Pour Some Sugar On Me would have been. Don’t judge me.

2012 came out last night. And while it will probably win the box office battle this weekend, I don’t have any desire to see it. This is the director that brought us Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. This is the movie where he gets the chance to take on the whole world. We’ve decided that his next movie has to be about the end of the universe. Earth isn’t going to be big enough for him anymore.

Time to watch some TV and movies on the computer here at the store.

Here’s hoping that everyone has a great weekend!

Thursday Morning Musings, Music Music Music Edition

Hola amigos.

It's a mobile, day off edition so we'll probably be short and sweet.

Huge ups to awesome E-ve. The buses may not be on your side today, but I am.

Last night was also the CMA awards show. The Country Music Awards celebrate greatness in the genre and did a great job with performances and award give aways. Taylor Swift was a big winner as she took home all 4 trophies that she was nominated for. She also took a quick jab at Kanye West in an acceptance speech when she thanked everyone in the building for not running up on stage.

Also, I know I updated Twitter a lot during the show, sorry if it felt like a spamming, but I love country music.

I also love musicals. So after the show I peeped Glee and dug it again. Strong social messages mixed with well arranged musical numbers. Job well done.

The cover of Defying Gravity from the Musical 'Wicked' was the show's big highlight.

And after Glee I was still in the musical mood and popped in Rent to put me to sleep. Good times.

The sun is out again in TO and the temperature doesn't seem so bad. I'll get a first hand look soon as I've got some shopping to do.

Today feels like a day in need of a nap.

Best wishes to everyone out there battling H1N1. Keep your spirits high.

This Sunday is Santa Claus parade day in Toronto. It's always a big crowd downtown, so if you're going, go early and get a good spot.

Forbes Magazine has reported that the Maple Leafs are worth $470 million. The most of any NHL team. Yowza.

Big win for the Raptors last night after a half time adjustment. A win is a win, I'll take it.

I think that's all for now folks. Enjoy my day off.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Lest We Forget Edition

Good morning friends.

Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada and Veteran's Day in the States. It's a day to remember and give thanks to the men and women who have served their country to protect our freedoms in every generation. Regardless of how you feel about the decisions that have led us into conflict I would ask you today to honour the soldiers and families that have given all that they have to try and make the world a safer place.

Also a huge up to E-ve today because she's amazing and strong and sometimes I feel an extra need to remind her of that.

The sun is shining down today but the temperature has dipped a little. It feels like a late fall morning probably should with a chill in the air and crisp breaths being taken.

In the style of Stephen Colbert I give a tip of the hat and a wag of the finger to the girl in front of me on the street car this morning. She had her iPod cranked to a bunch of girl pop as we travelled east but hit a high point when Kellie Pickler came on. The girl dropped the ball though when she abandoned the song part way through. Also, she wore far too much plaid.

This peppermint mocha from Starbucks is alright I guess.

I got confirmation from Romeo that les boys did in fact achieve 400 out of 420 stars while Rock Banding the other night.

Last night was great in an on demand TV sense as I was able to watch Numb3rs and Community and something else that apparently wasn't too memorable.

Thumbs down to the cable folks as my sports channels were down all night though.

There are some high school kids sitting beside me talking about trying to get into University. Here's my advice. Work hard, be involved, have fun, choose a program that you are genuinely interested in. Best of luck to all of you in grade 12 getting ready for next fall.

There's a 2 man TV crew across the street trying to interview people for something. I'm not sure what though. It's pretty amusing watching some people try to avoid them.

I think that's all for now mes amis.

I hope that you have a great Wednesday.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Stevie Y Edition

Good morning friends.

Big ups to E-ve as she heads to school for some higher learning this afternoon.

And big ups to the boys in Ottawa who rocked out hard last with the Rock Band. 400 out of 420 stars were earned if I remember my stats correctly.

Thumbs down to the Raptors who lost a very winnable game in San Antonio. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan sat out and the Raps still found a way to lose.

Last night was the induction ceremony for this year’s Hockey Hall of Fame class. I was able to see Red Wings legend Steve Yzerman give his speech and he was a gentleman. This dude is classy to the core. I’ve never been a Red Wings fan and totally complained about them having an unbeatable team in the early part of this decade, but Stevie Y is a man that everyone can find a way to love.

It’s sunny again today in the city, the weather is pretty alright, and it’s looking like it’s going to stay this way for the rest of the week.

We’ve got How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory to watch here this morning. I’m kind of excited.

I’m not doing very well in the hockey pool this week still. The LA Kings are killing me. Eff.

Get ready for the fun and games that come with the winter. The new girl from Ireland is asking what awesome stuff she can do when the snow flies.

Time to wrap it up and get the TV shows rolling. I’ll probably be blabbing on the Twitter feed later about random news. Check it out.

As always, if you’re only here this one day of the week… See you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Movember Day 9 Edition

Good morning folks.

Welcome to another work week, I hope that you are all enjoying whatever weather you’ve got coming to you right now.

Here in the Big Smoke we’re looking at beach weather more or less. The front page of the Sun is even a picture of people playing on the beach yesterday.

Big wishes of a great day to E-ve and her mom and her dad. Everyone in the family deserves a few good days in a row.

Movember is now on day 9. I’ve seen some good moustaches out on the street in the last few days. And they should get a whole lot better as the days and weeks go on. Mine is making its way towards awesome. Time will be my biggest friend.

I saw a hippy, bohemian, skateboarding on a long board downtown this morning. She stopped at the corner store to get some fresh fruit and then was on her way again. Environmental transport, check. Healthy breakfast choice, check. Element of cool, check. Well done young lady.

Quick fire time.

-Remembrance Day is quickly approaching, please pick up your poppy and remember to have your schedule clear at 11am on Wednesday if possible.

-This Friday is the 13th. A day that makes my superstitious hairs stand on end. I will be on the watch for black cats, ladders, etc. to ensure my safety through out the day.

-I need a big week from the Los Angeles Kings in my hockey pool. Cheer hard my friends.

-A 20 year old girl in Brazil has been expelled from University for wearing a dress that was too small for the school’s ethical and moral standards.

-Jim Carrey has topped the box office with A Christmas Carol in its opening week with $31 million.

-I’m a little sad that I missed Taylor Swift on SNL this weekend. All reports are that she was hilarious.

-I did a terrible job picking NFL football winners this weekend. Thumbs down to me.

The effing girls in the store are chatting like we’re in a coffee shop or cafeteria. Just for the record, we aren’t. I feel like I’m in high school or college or somewhere that gives me a headache.

I have an urge to watch the new Star Trek movie.

I’m gonna split. Here’s hoping that the sun shines down on you where ever you are!

Sunday Morning Musings, Everyone Loves Fudge Edition

Howdy friends.

I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves while I was away.

E-ve and I had a good little mini-vacay and hope to be able to do the same kind of thing again in the not too distant future.

Note: I didn’t really ask her if that’s what she wants. That’s just a hunch.

So last night the Habs looked bad and lost, the Raptors looked flat and lost and the Leafs looked good and won. What the heck is up with that?!

Best wishes to E-ve’s mom as she hangs tough and fights to get better and come back home again.

I forgot how awesome it was to be a kid and play the crap out of a bunch of arcade games for hours on end. We hit Dave and Busters while we were away and went to town. There was Guitar Hero, basketball shoot-out, trivia, car racing, whack-a-mole, table top hockey, and it was all awesome. We had enough tickets (with the help of some kindly strangers) to get some shot glasses and a Little Miss Sunshine to bring home with us. Good times had by all. And, because it’s not just for kids, there was a bar, with the game on and booze available. Fantastic addition in my opinion.

I lurve fudge. Might be the best sweet treat ever. Especially considering all of the options and choices when it comes to flavours and such.

Big shout-out to all of the geeks that I miss from www.hotpinkgeek.com they’re awesome.

High fives to all of my friends out there.

Thursday Morning Musings, Mika Madolo Edition

Bon morning my friends.

High fives to E-ve!

Tip of the hat to the Yankees who won their 27th World Series Championship last night. I'm not excited about it, happy about it or ok with it. But it happened and it's a long year and a tough thing to do. So good on 'em.

Cabral "Cabbie" Richards maybe the most charismatic personality in all of Canadian television. If you're a sports fan you already know him. If you're not go see him at www.thescore.com or see if you can find him on YouTube. His interviews are always a good time.

The weather isn't fantastic so it's a bundle up and bring the umbrella kind of day. Hopefully the wind stays low so nobody gets lifted right up off of the ground.

I have an incredible 3 days in a row off of work. That means 3 days in jeans. I lurve it!

I also lurve Batman, Green Arrow, Pedro Martinez, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift, Kevin Smith, etc.

Big ups to the Raptors after a home win last night against the Pistons of Detroit. We're 2 and 2 now and hope is still alive for a solid season.

I think I've never been a waiter because I don't have much patience. Get it?

Be prepared for a hike in Toronto if you're a transit rider. There are proposed changes for the 3rd of January. I understand why... But people aren't going to be happy about it.

Here's hoping that everyone rocks their Thursday and Friday and heck, even Saturday! Rock them all people!

Wednesday Morning Musings, Almost Time To Bundle Up Edition

Good morning folks.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed to the first 2 days of the week.

Best wishes out to E-ve for more recovery from her cough and such today.

It’s a big night for baseball tonight as game 6 of the World Series goes in chilly NYC. Mary J Blige is going to be singing the National Anthem before the first pitch.

It’s a chilly day here in the big smoke so far. They are saying that the high temp for the day is going to be 7 degrees… that’s pretty cold for just hanging out outside. Make sure that you bundle up if you’re headed out mes amis.

Maple Leaf fans got a boost of moral last night as Phil Kessel played his first game for his new team. He had 10 shots on goal but no goals in a 2-1 overtime loss. The important thing I think though is that the fans had something to cheer about.

H1N1 clinics are picking up all over the place. There’s even one here in our building at work today. The thing that I’m impressed with is the fact that it looks like everyone here appears to be in the high risk group.

It’s a big day in history and the future today… exactly 1 year ago President Obama won the election becoming the President Elect of the United States of America.

It’s also the start of the 100 day countdown to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The torch run is under way the protests (as far as I’m aware) have been minimal.

I haven’t yet seen snow in the forecast for this area. But I’m sure that it’s coming. Everyone be prepared for scarves and mittens and hats and winter coats. If you fancy wool socks go for it, or if you like the looks of some of the fancy winter boots go ahead and get you some of those all water proofed up and go nuts.

Here’s a big wave hello to everyone out in the world. Hi!

I think that’s it for today. Have a good one.

Tuesday Morning Musings, The Circle Of Life Edition

Good morning folks.

I hope that everyone is awake and warm somewhere. It’s certainly not warm outside right now, and it’s not looking like it’s going to be any time soon.

Best wishes to E-ve as she works to get her voice back after a nasty cough got to her yesterday.

Job well done by the Phillies after a big game 5 win last night over the Yankees. I can only hope that they can continue the magic in New York.

So far the morning has started slow here at the store with all kinds of Disney music on the YouTube and the Lion King now rocking on the computer beside me.

Here’s hoping that we get some more of this today as it’s going to be a long day and I’m not looking forward to too much busy.

We’re getting close to the Christmas season, and I know this because Mommy Z asked me what’s on my wish list when I was talking to her yesterday. She also informed me that by the end of next week we should be able to go for a visit and have a drink while we sit in the new hot tub. And our traditional Christmas mimosas’ will be enjoyed on the deck this year for the first time.

Watching The Lion King and hearing Jonathon Taylor Thomas sing I wonder why he was never what Zac Efron is now.

Just a little warning that tomorrow will most likely be the last muse for a few days. There’s a little trip planned that will leave me out of touch.

Here’s hoping that everyone else has a great rest of the week planned. Smile lots, smile pretty, smile big and enjoy yourself.

And as per always, if you’re only here this one day a week… we’ll see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, So Many Ideas Edition

Good Monday morning ladies and gents.

I hope that everyone that needs it is getting their coffee fix like I am.

Big high fives to E-ve who’s gonna rock the lunch rush today if I am remembering schedules properly.

Thumbs down to Brad Lidge who may have lost the World Series for the Philadelphia Phillies last night. Mon Dieu he was bad. Not only did he abandon his best pitch with 2 outs, he didn’t cover 3rd base when Johnny Damon stole 2nd and 3rd in one play… and he proceeded to melt down and allow 3 runs in the 9th inning. Son of a gun put the Yankees ahead 3 games to 1.

Big ups to Kelly Diels and her updated and (in her words) improved blog at www.kellydiels.com, it’s great work from Canada’s West Coast.

3rd Rock From The Sun is still funny all of these years later. Good times. I like it.

Speaking of the West Coast, it’s day 4 of the Olympic Torch Relay. The Vancouver 2010 games are close, and the excitement is building. Huge luck to all of the competitors.

There are all kinds of writing projects in my head right now and I’m not sure which to start on first, which to put more time and effort into… le sigh… what’s a boy to do?

The word on the street is that road construction is going to be finished today. That would be awesome. People will stop parking in the middle of the street. People will be able to make their way up and down the street without all the congestion that they’ve put up with over the last few months. All in all, it could be very good.

Fingers are crossed that E-ve’s cough gets a whole lot better today.

The commercial for the Snuggie just doesn’t make me want to get one. Better luck next time folks.

I’m getting nowhere with this thing today. I think we’ll call it a day from here for now.

Sunday Morning Musings, Quick (There's A) Fire Edition

Good day to you my friends of the interweb.

Welcome to November. We did it. We made it through another month in this wild and crazy year that is 2009.

Who’s up for a Sunday quick fire? I think I’m up for a Sunday quick fire. Let’s go.

-A little birdy told me that today is the start of Movember. The Movember movement helps to raise awareness and monies for Men’s Health issues including prostate cancer. So, if you see a dude or 3 rocking a pretty sad looking moustache this month it’s probably for a good cause.

-High fives to E-ve for a great cupcake last night and as many smiles as she could fit into our time together.

-Huge NFL game today as Brett Favre heads into Green Bay to take on the Packers for the first time.

-Raptors game tips off at 1 o’clock. Vince Carter is supposed to be playing in front of the former home town fans, but he went down with a sprained ankle the other day… so it’s a wait and see thing now.

-Halloween seems to have been a smashing success with everyone on the Twitter feed and Facebook universe. I hope that everyone had a great time.

-Big thanks being given for E-ve’s mom and my grandpa both being home from hospital. Our families are feeling much better today.

-Creed is making a comeback. Discuss amongst yourselves.

-I hope that everyone remembered to set their clocks back an hour last night before bed.

Time to get some work done and get ready for tip-off mes amis. I hope that you all have a great Sunday!

Saturday Morning Musings, Get You Some Candy Edition

Good morning friends, family, foes and others.

Happy Hallowe’en! It’s the most wonderful day of the year that doesn’t have people giving me presents.

If you are out to lunch in the Scarborough area today and a cute construction worker pulls her note pad out of her tool belt, say hi. And then tip big.

I was able to get a yes vote from the boss as far as dressing up today, so here I am, rocking out in my rock and roll wear. Lanyard with concert creds, 2 silver rings on my right hand, leather wrist cuff, Batman belt buckle, scarf, old jeans, shiny black shoes, etc.

I’ve also had some good old fashioned rock and roll playing on the YouTube so far. And by that I mean I had to hear Rick Springfield sing Jessie’s Girl after seeing him on Ellen yesterday and then it suggested Journey, so here I am singing along to Don’t Stop Believin’.

Speaking of Ellen… I did get to watch the Hallowe’en special with Kellie Pickler and Rick Springfield and the science dude that she had on. And Kellie Pickler just keeps becoming more of a favourite every time I see her on the show being hilarious. In fact, I’m now listening to Pickler tracks instead of rock and roll.

Terrible sports watching night for me on Friday as the Habs and Raps both dropped games that I really wanted to see them win. The Raptors especially laid an egg in Memphis where they should have been able to hold on for a big road win. But no. There’s still a lot of work to be done for Jay Triano and the gang.

Store’s open folks, come on in, I’ve got chocolate.

Don't forget to turn the clocks back tonight... there's my psa for today.

I hope that everyone has a great costume for themselves, the kids, the mannequins, and grandma… but not the dog. Come on people. Let’s get serious. Thank you.

Have a great Hallowe’en friends. Remember to check the candy when the kids get home to make sure that you get the good stuff.

Friday Morning Musings, Day Off 2 Edition

Good morning folks.

I hope that everyone has made it in good health to Friday.

Tip E-ve well if she serves you your lunch. She's sure to bring a smile with it.

Tensions are high and lines are long at clinics giving out the H1N1 vaccine. Please remember that everyone in line is there for the same reason that you are and the health care professionals are doing their best to get everyone taken care of.

If you're going to be out and about this afternoon and this evening your probably going to want to bring your umbrella. It's not such a bad day out there right now, but it's supposed to change.

I have an itching to go and spend money on books. But the budget isn't calling for that right now.

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy. Truer words may never have been sung. Thank goodness for country music.

Was awesome to see Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw on Ellen yesterday. And today on the Hallowe'en Special it's Kellie Pickler. The Pickler is hilarious, if you have a chance to watch the show today I'd recommend it.

Thanks again to everyone for their best wishes to E-ve's mum. She is doing well and we hope for her to be home soon.

I've gotta get me a little lap top.

The mall is an amazing place to do some people watching. In fact, I'd rather people watch than window shop if there's no money to be spent.

Eff the Yankees and their win last night. Pedro Martinez wasn't perfect, and he might not have been as good as AJ Burnett was last night. But he's still one of the greatest of all time and probably the greatest pitcher of my generation.

Today feels like a day with a lot of words in it. We'll have to see how that plays out.

And tomorrow is Hallowe'en. I hope you are all ready, the kids are ready, and the whole gang has a blast. Remember all the safety stuff that we've all been taught and make it a night to remember.

I think that's all for now.

Have a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Musings, Time To Eat Edition

Good morning y'all.

It's a mobile morning muse on a day off. Lucky me!

High fives and best wishes to E-ve on her mid-term today. She's a smart cookie I'm sure it's going to go well.

And high fives to Mommy Z. Like E-ve, she's been running herself ragged with work and extra work. Helping out with my grand-dad has been Mommy Z's biggest add on. Good news is that grand-dad is coming home Friday (on his anniversary) so it should be easier for everyone to stop by and help out.

The sports run down from last night goes like this:

-Yankees lose game 1 of the World Series to the Phillies.

-Habs lose to the Penguins who become the 1st team to get to 10 wins this season. Sid the Kid rocked a hat trick against Jaroslav Halak in the first 2 periods and Carey Price finally saw some ice when he was brought in for the 3rd.

-The Colorado Avalanche came back to beat the Calgary Flames and are the 2nd team to reach 10 wins and the biggest surprise in the NHL.

-The Toronto Raptors won their season and home opener versus the Cavaliers. Shaq and Jebron James just couldn't beat Bosh, Bargnani and the rest of the Dinos. I love this game.

Fastest city inspection ever just happened at my apt.
Them: "City of Toronto inspection, everything good in the unit?"
Me: "Yup. Heat works and it's a good time of year for that."
Them: "Thank you my friend. Have a good day."
Me: "You too guys."
Fin

I'm thinking about doing a whole whack of cooking today. But then I run the risk of having more food cooked than I can eat. Hmm that's a dilly of a pickle.

Here's hoping that you all have a great Thursday, and in case I don't get back tomorrow, a great Friday too.

Wednesday Morning Musings, We Did It Edition

Hola amigos.

We did it. Made it to Wednesday, day 6. And now I get to have my weekday weekend starting tomorrow.

We're still looking for all best wishes and positive thoughts for E-ve's mum. Thanks to Jake, @joshua_ and all of our friends for their continued support.

And get well soon to @joshua_ while we're at it.

I was scandalized this morning when I walked past Le Chateau and saw all of the mannequins naked in the window. And these aren't your parents mannequins folks, these are nipples and curves and holy smokes. Show some decency Le Chateau.

It feels like it could be a day with a lot of 3rd Rock From The Sun on the computer. Season 1 is here and ready to go. In fact, we cracked into it yesterday.

Get ready baseball fans. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are getting ready to play on the field and then it's time for the first pitch of the World Series tonight.

If you're going to see E-ve for lunch today please smile big and tip well. She'll tell of your greatness to everyone after.

I think Hallowe'en costumes have been figured out. I'm gonna leave you guessing though.

I'm a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. So there.

Time to wrap it up. Have a goodie friends.

Tuesday Morning Musings, All Over The Place Edition

Hello and good morning to you friends.

I hope that everyone is awake and well.

Big love to E-ve for being amazing. Best wishes continue to go out to her and her family.

Thank you to @joshua_ on the Twitter feed for thoughts and prayers. He’s a pretty good kid.

Metallica played Toronto last night and the fans were easy to spot as they made their way home after the show. I hope that everyone had a good time. Reviews in the form of status updates have been good so far.

My morning coffee is getting a lot of credit for my being awake and mobile this morning.

The World Series and Toronto Raptors regular season both start tomorrow night. What’s a boy to do?

I love my sports, but I kinda miss having the movie channels, but I can’t afford both. Oh well. That’s just me being a big baby.

The Maple Leafs won their first game of the season last night against the Ducks. It was a huge win for the program and a huge win for the fans that have been waiting as patiently as possible.

It was also a winning night for the Montreal Canadiens who beat the Islanders in overtime. It was the 4 straight win for the team and goaltender Jaroslav Halak who is fast becoming praised in the MTL. But in my humble opinion it is time for Carey Price to get back in the crease.

All of my thoughts are away from the store today.

Because of that I’m having a little trouble thinking of things to write.

I’ll end with the norm. If you’re only here this one day a week, we’ll see you next Tuesday.

Like wham!
