Wednesday Morning Musings, Balzacs And The Ganny Edition

Good morning kids.

Happy hump day, game day, rent day, Wednesday.

Big lovin' to my E-ve. Her headache won't go away so I'm gonna keep wishing. Thumbs up though as we have a plan for hang out date before going to Daddy Z's place for Easter dinner Friday evening. We also get to hang out with a friend from out of town as she makes her way through the city. There's a pretty cool coffee place in the village by my apartment that E-ve suggested we can take her to. Not a bad idea at all.

I also think my plan I set to spend Friday and Saturday night out at Mommy Z's place. The family time will be nice and the Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny race goes Saturday morning. I'll also do another dinner with fam and church with mom on Sunday morning. It'll be a busy weekend.

If you have no idea what the Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny is, Google it. You'll shake your head and laugh, but it's a great time and a good party. I went down the river once, it's crazy cold, but it'll cure your hangover pretty quickly.

I think today is an eggs and hashbrowns day. Wish I had cheese but I'll have to do without.

Yesterday I fired up a Long Form Musing entry about some of the junk that entertains me on TV. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I was able to reference Pacey twice in the piece. Go me!

Romeo confirmed my thoughts. We're going to try a test podcast this weekend with He and I and Jake. It'll be short and ridiculous no doubt. Right now I'm working on ideas and a name. I'll let you know what I come up with. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Habs game day tonight. We need a win. No ifs ands or buts about it. Carolina has had a pretty rough year, here's hoping it continues for them tonight.

I think that's all I've got for now kids.

Like yesterday though, there could be more to read later.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Easter's Coming Edition

Good morning one and all.

Welcome to Tuesday. Glad you could make it.

Big love to E-ve. Hoping that she is feeling much better today than she was last night. Also, big thanks to her for the great pancakes that we had for brunch yesterday. The added chocolate that we forgot was here was a fantastic touch.

And a second thank you for being my biggest fan and strongest supporter when times are good or tough.

The Raptors won last night, can you believe it? With only a few minutes left in the game I tweeted that they were close to breaking my heart again and then bam! they finished a game strong and got a much, much needed W.

Here's one of my favourite quotes from the last little while: "Kids who read comic books are reading."

I wonder if you can make pancakes with yogurt in the batter?

New background on my BB is the DC Trinity logo with Batman at the front. I like it.

I need to get back to Romeo, but I have a feeling that we're going to have a test run this Sunday on the podcast. Probably means we should try to come up with some ideas and names and such. Yikes. Please note that the podcast may not be as family friendly as this blog and Romeo's blog... But those warnings will be made when needed, I promise.

If you're not reading Romeo's blog, why not? www.semi-dailyplanet.blogspot.com

Still trying to figure out what my plans are for Easter weekend. Maybe spending some time with Mommy Z.

The Home Cooking Experiment hasn't been as strict as it once was, but I'm glad to report that I am eating much healthier than I used to. I am also cooking with more veggies and creativity which is good for everyone.

Did I mention that E-ve picked Indiana Jones for date night movies the other day? What's not awesome about that?

I totally got Final Jeopardy last night. Just to let you know.

I think that's all I've got for now kids. As always, check the Twitter feed and Facebook for links and other tidbits.

And if you're only here this one day a week... See you next Tuesday.

Sunday Morning Musings, Chuck And Batman And Ideas Edition

Good morning y'all.

I hope that Sunday has started well for everyone. Keep smiling.

My sleep patterns and habits are getting annoying and driving me crazy.

Big lovin' to E-ve. I can't wait for her to come over today. There's good food planned and perhaps a movie and some hanging out and good times all around.

Thumbs down to the dinks she served at work last night. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your parents should be ashamed as well. Next time you go out to eat dinner, be an adult about it or go to Wendy's. Thank you.

TFC had their first game of the season yesterday... and lost. Not the start that the die hards were hoping for. Here's hoping things look up as the year goes on. And here's hoping we get tickets to see a game.

I think I'm going to focus some time and attention to a possibly huge project. And to reading Batman. Good plan.

Plans are coming together for Easter weekend. Dinner at Daddy Z's is set for Friday and then we'll what happens after that.

I have eaten far too much cereal lately.

I just put Chuck on the TV. Thank you On Demand.

Big ups to Jake now that his Urinetown run has finished. All reviews were excellent and I wish I could have made the trip to see it. Proud of ya buddy.

There are a lot of exciting and fun ideas on the horizon. However, none of them get me paid...

I think that's all I've got for this morning friends.

Have a great day, keep having fun and working hard. And remember, you're loved.

Saturday Morning Musings, 'Melo Broke My Heart Edition

Hi kids.

Happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend, blah blah blah. But seriously, I hope you have a great day all around.

Big ups to E-ve who was up late as well last night. I hope her sleep has been restful. Last night was a slow night at the restaurant but with UFC and Hockey Night in Canada she could be busier tonight. Tons of love and good luck to you my E-ve.

If you're going anywhere to watch hockey and the fights, please remember not to be a jack-ass. Smiles and please and thank you will make everything go super smooth.

Also be prepared for the lights to dim as tonight does bring Earth Hour with it. I've said my piece about Earth Hour before, but I do see it as a good educational tool. So, at 8:30 EST tonight be ready to turn the lights off, unplug electronics that aren't in use, etc. and be a part of the solution.

So, Heath and I went to the Raptors game last night. And Carmelo Anthony broke my heart. Not in the 50 point blow out kinda way that we were prepared for, but with a last second buzzer beater to give the Nuggets a 1 point win. The Raptors fought hard and rebounded quite well but made little mistakes in the end that cost them the game. My thumbs are up to Sonny Weems and Andrea Bargnani and down to Jarrett Jack's decisions in the paint and the butter fingers of everyone in the last minute.

I'll also add that the spinach dip and nachos at Casey's were a great pre-game meal. And the beer wasn't bad either.

Romeo and I tossed around some quick "how to" info yesterday about podcasting. It looks like it'll be easy enough. I won't be assisting much from my BB other than being on speaker with them, but I think Romeo and Jake can figure it out.

I heart Google.

And Batman.

I think that's all for me today friends. You guys are the bestest.

Friday Morning Musings, Spacek On Booth, Messy But Legal Edition

Howdy kids.

I'm a sleepy boy but I'm gonna get something pounded out here.

Big lovin' to E-ve. We had a great date and hang-out on Wednesday that melted into Thursday. Dinner worked well, beer was a tasty treat, we made fun of each other just enough to make sure it was funny and even snuck a nap in there. Great times had by all.

Tally whoa!

Also, huge thank you to E-ve for supplying me with cold meds yesterday morning. They worked great and I was silly not to get more when I was out.

She even rocked some Veronica Mars with me, much to my delight.

Side note: high fives to @residentmoron for having great taste in TV shows and loving Veronica Mars as well.

Big time win for the Habs last night against the Panthers. It was much needed as the games remaining tick down and the race for the play-offs heats up.

Scary moment in the game as Jaro Spacek hit Florida's David Booth hard as he crossed the blue line. Booth had his head down and met Spacek's shoulder in a violent, physical, big league body check. However, whereas most hits in the NHL end with the player getting up and skating away, this one didn't. David Booth lay on the ice before being helped to the dressing room. The probable reason is that Booth suffered a severe concussion earlier this season after a late, blind side head shot delivered by Mike Richards of the Flyers. In fact, that hit was one of the main reasons that the new blind side/ back pressure, head shot rule has been rushed into the NHL rule book. Once anyone has suffered a concussion it becomes much easier for them to suffer subsequent concussions and that may have been the case with David Booth last night. He was taken to a Montreal hospital for tests and surveillance but was said to be coherent and responsive. All of my best wishes go out to David Booth and his family as he recovers from last night's hit.

And a note to anyone on a witch hunt for someone to punish under the new rule, Jaro Spacek will not be the first to be suspended. He did not break that rule. It was a good, strong, clean hockey check that had an unfortunate outcome. That is all.

Happy Friday to all of you by the way. How could I forget.

And happy Friday especially to Heath and I as we have tickets to see the Raptors play (get slaughtered by) the Nuggets. We're hoping for either a big Raptors win, which is much needed, or a 50 point night from Carmelo Anthony.

I've done a whole pile of writing in the last few days. It's felt good. I'm enjoying it. And there's some good stuff coming from it I think.

If you caught my link to Romeo's blog the other day you saw his idea for a podcast with Jake and I. It's an interesting idea that I'm sure comes from the laughs Romeo gets from Kevin Smith's SModcast and if it comes to pass I promise to warn you about language and subject matter.

I can feel my stomach grumbling which means I should either get some cereal or a granola bar I suppose.

For those of you in Toronto be prepared for lots of news moving forward with regards to the TTC's decision to put up safety barriers at subway stations. There were a reported 18 suicide attempts on subway platforms last year and the support for the barriers has been overwhelming, but funding still needs to be found.

I think that's all for today friends. I hope that today is good, tonight is great and the weekend in better.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Alive And Well Edition

Hey there.

I'm alive.

It's been a wild few days, sorry about the being away.

Huge ups to E-ve who is the awesome. Her sick isn't awesome, but she'll push through it. It's what she does. I loves her, and I can't wait to see her soon.

Currently watching V Mars DVDs and reading Batman comic books that Jake sent back from Ottawa.

I like the story in Batman Family so far. And I'm only 1 issue in.

I'm also digging on V Mars. I've seen these episodes 3 times each, at least, and they still keep me coming back.

The grocery list in the fridge is growing. And beside it is the list of things that I'd like to get for me. Non-food items. Laptop, coffee table, etc.

Baseball season is fast approaching and I'm an excited boy. The Blue Jays have named Shaun Marcum as their opening day starter. I know he's not Roy Halladay, but I like him.

I've eaten a lot of cereal over the last week. Harvest Crunch, empty. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, empty. Nesquik that I forgot I had, empty.

Time to wrap it up I think. V Mars is about to get into some heavy stuff.

Have a great day kids. Treat each other well.

Sunday Morning Musings, Who Cares About The Time Edition

Hey there world.

Happy Sunday. I hope it’s a good one so far.

Big ups to E-ve who made it home safely. Made me very happy to see her and have a hang out date. She was also very gracious in victory last night after the Leafs beat the Habs in a shootout. We had a deal going into the game and both of us did a very good job of not breaking the deal and gloating at any point during the contest.

E-ve also made the best decision of the night when we called for chicken wing delivery for dinner. Excellent choice, and the garlic bread on the side was a great touch.

Also, feel better soon.  xo.
Sad faces as my bracket isn’t looking so great in the NCAA tournament. I’m still doing alright compared to everyone else that made picks, but I’ve been taking a beating as schools have been rocking upset wins at an alarming rate.

I realized (thanks to @technicolor_cat) that I’ve been missing out on sports card collecting for way too long. It took only 1 tweet to make me notice this fact. McDonalds hockey cards at the start of every winter just aren’t cutting it.

Big thank yous to Jake for sending Batman comic books back with E-ve after her trip. I haven’t cracked any covers yet, but I’m tres excited to get started on the 8 issue run of Batman and Family.

It’s not a warm, sunny day in Toronto so far. We were at 0 this morning which meant that I had to wear a real coat when I left for work. E-ve supplied me with my first coffee of the day though, so I started to warm up pretty quickly. Thank you sweetheart.

I’d like to say thank you to everyone that stops by to check out what I have to ramble about here. You guys are pretty rad.

Thumbs down to my BB which has decided that it doesn’t want to vibrate any longer. That’s not awesome at all. However, I am only 3 months-ish away from new customer pricing on a new one. So that ain’t too bad.

Chuck is on tomorrow. Yay!

I have still only won 2 free coffees from Tim Hortons in this year’s Roll up the Rim contest. Boo.

I’m pulling for Andy Rautins and Syracuse right now against the Gonzaga in the NCAA tourney. I think that E-ve is cheering against me because she loves Gonzaga, but I have a feeling that I’m going to win.

Happy 28th birthday to Aaron Hill of the Toronto Blue Jays.

I think that’s all for now my friends. I hope that you all have a great afternoon.

Saturday Morning Musings, Quick Fire Habs Over Leafs Edition

Good morning kids.

It's Saturday morning so I'm gonna whip out a quick fire edition before I figure out what to do before E-ve gets home.

As I just tweeted, E-ve and Romeo are out to lunch before she hops the bus to come home. Here's hoping I get some left-overs.

Need more Batman.

Trying to decide between yogurt and Harvest Crunch for breakfast or some of the chicken nuggets and shrimp and jalapeno poppers that I made for my March Madness Friday.

I still love watching Saturday morning TV.

The Raptors were awful last night. I'm starting to think we have a better chance at signing Amare Stoudemire this summer than keeping Chris Bosh. And I think I'm okay with that.

Go Habs Go!

Tally whoa!

I miss my mommy a wee bit.

I love www.espn.com for my sports news.

I have a Kellie Pickler song stuck in my head.

E-ve and I still need to see the Princess and the Frog.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid the movie doesn't have me sold. Not one I need to go and see.

I think that's all the randomness I have in me right now.

Have a great day and night.

Friday Morning Musings, Day 11 Edition

Hey there kids!

Happy freakin' Friday.

Big lovin' to E-ve who had a busy night yesterday. Seeing Urinetown on openning night, hitting a karaoke bar with Romeo hosting and then stopping in at our fav gay bar will make anyone sleepy. Which is why I'm assuming she's not yet replied to my good morning sms. Big X's and O's to you my E-ve.

High fives to Jake after openning night. I'm sure that tonight will be great too. And every show that follows.

March Madness has been especially mad so far. Experts and fans alike are saying that yesterday may have been the best 1st day of the tournament ever. If you've never heard of a March Madness Widow I suggest you google it. Might save your relationship.

Today is my first day off since a week ago Monday. I slept in. It was awesome. And now I'm lounging with the NCAA's on TV. Heck yes.

Baseball season just keeps getting closer. And that makes me a happy and excited boy. I'm not sure what my first game at the ballpark will be this year, but I'm hoping it's in April.

Also, Heath and I have a date to hit the Raptors game next Friday. That excites me.

It looks like the sun is shining through my blinds. Maybe I'll go out later to run some errands and see how it is for reals.

Spring is just around the corner and then comes summer and for Canadians that's a wonderful thing. Because we're so used to cold and harsh winters (which admittedly we didn't have this year) we usually go a little crazy in the summer. You'll see people that BBQ every day, wear flip flops in the rain, rock their tan lines and sunburns and just enjoy the heck out of it. Bring it on I say.

Big ups to The Score Television Network for their NCAA coverage. Split screens and fewer commercials and 13ish hours a day is hardcore.

It feels like forever since the Habs played. But tomorrow night they get a pretty hot Maple Leafs team in what should be a pretty good game.

Didn't eat pizza last night. Maybe today. Maybe not. Maybe salad. Maybe not.

Time to check out for now mes amis. There's just too much going on to concentrate.

Have a groovy Friday and a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Musings, Let The Madness Begin Edition

Hola amigos.

I hope that you are all ready for the Madness.

Super lovin’ to my E-ve. Even when she’s away she’s hilarious via text. And it sounds like St. Patrick’s Day was a success for her and the girls.

I have to make my cbc.ca hockey pool picks today since I won’t be at the computer over the next couple of days. I have no hunches at this point, but I have to be better than I have been this week. That’s for sure.

The sun is shining again, it’s awesome. They say not to get too used to it because clouds and rain will come sooner or later. But for now, I say enjoy it as best you can.

I mentioned the Madness because BYU and Florida just tipped off in the first game of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. My picks are in and my fingers are crossed and I have a different winner picked than President Obama.

I can’t believe that the Raptors won last night. I turned the game off after the 3rd quarter and was so upset about their effort that I actually Tweeted that fact. And then Chris Bosh hit a jumper with 2.1 seconds left on the clock and the 5 game losing streak ended. Thank goodness.

I could really go for a big lottery win. I should buy a ticket.

Today is day 10 of 10. So if I can make it to 7pm I’ll have completed the mission. Go team.

Msn.ca has a Top 30 Rocker Babes list on their entertainment page today. I just popped it up, haven’t looked at it. Discuss amongst yourselves and argue as needed.

I’m tempted to order pizza and chicken wings tonight and watch basketball until I pass out and then as soon as I wake up again tomorrow. I think my body can handle that. But can my spirit?

Huge love and high fives to Jake as the curtain goes up tonight on Urinetown. If you’re in the Ottawa area this weekend or next try to check it out $12 for students, $15 for the rest of us. Google the name.

And a high five to Romeo for his How I Lost My Socks At Walmart blog. I linked it. I like it.

I think that’s all for now. There’s a lot to do today.

Have a great one!

Wednesday Morning Musings, St. Patrick's Over The Hump Edition

Good day sirs and madams.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re Irish, celebrate. If you’re not, pretend that you are and celebrate.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she is already on the road and on her way for her mini-vacay. I kinda sorta miss her already. Lame I know.

Huge win for the Habs last night over the Rangers. It puts les Canadiens on a 6 game winning streak at the best time of year for a streak. We’re starting to see some separation from the bottom of the play-off ladder and might even be able to climb a little bit. Awesome.

The sun is shining again in the city today and they say that we can expect a high of 17 degrees. That’s pretty friggin’ hot since it’s technically still winter. Crazy.

I just wiki’d DC animated movies and found that the next planned flick is Batman: Under the Red Hood. I can handle that. With a cast that IMDB.com reports will include Neil Patrick Harris, Jensen Ackles, Jason Isaacs and Bruce Greenwood it could be very good. I’m excited. IMDB also reports a July 27th release this year. Yay!

A quick request, if you’re drinking tonight please don’t drive. And if you’re in a big city, please be careful when you’re walking in and around traffic. The last thing anybody wants to worry about is an accident in the middle of a happy time. Thank you.

I won a coffee! That’s right. I have now won 2 coffees from Tim Hortons in the Roll up the Rim contest.

With Friday and Saturday off this week and not a whole lot of money to play with I think I will sit myself down and drown in NCAA basketball. Heck yes!

The parking cops are out in full force now that the weather is better. Be careful friends. Nobody needs a ticket for not paying attention.

Mmm shawarma.

It’s day 9 of 10. And it’s a 10 hour day. So, if you love me, pray for my sanity and ability to stay awake.

I think that’s it today friends. Happy hump day. Happy St. Pat’s.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Go Habs Go Edition

Hello world.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope you enjoy it. For a few minutes this morning I thought that it was Wednesday, but no such luck.

Tuesday means day 8, which means only 2 more to go before 2 whole days off.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she gets a bunch of stuff done before she hops the bus tomorrow. It’s gonna be a great trip for her. I’m excited on her behalf and wish that I was going as well. I’ll probably text a bunch even though I know it will get her made fun of. I can’t help it.

It’s game day, and that means there will be a lot of Go Habs Go in my life today. I know that Rangers fans are hungry for wins and would love some good results down the stretch, but this is a game that the Canadiens have to win. And I will be cheering as hard as I can to make that happen.

I am jazzed for baseball season. I can’t help it. The sun is out, the temperatures are climbing and I want to play catch.

I love the feeling of my fingers on the keyboard.

Chuck was pretty good last night. There is a ton going on. I can’t believe it really. I have no idea where it’s going to go from here, but the writers have given themselves a chance to really put a good story out there. I hope that they don’t disappoint. I also saw the first tweet calling for NBC to order season 4. After last year’s Save Chuck campaign I am trying to imagine what fans could do this time.

I think that HIMYM was a re-run. I flipped to it for a second but I wasn’t really into it.

I spilled coffee on my left leg this morning. Not a great way to start the work day. But I’m fine and nobody saw it. If I didn’t write it here, it would have been a secret to my grave.

Both Yahoo.ca and Msn.ca have been disappointing sources for interesting or catchy news lately. Way too much celebrity gossip and love and sex stuff. Come on folks. Get it together.

Darts just came on the TV. So it’s time for me to wrap this up and change the channel.

As always, if this is the only day of the week that you stop by, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Guess Who's Coming To Town Edition

Hey there friends.

Happy Monday. Hope you’re all rocking it.

Big loving to E-ve who is getting ready for a trip. I’m excited for her even though I’ll miss her while she’s away.

Excellent Sunday dinner last night. Taquitos and Chicken Fingers. How can a bachelor ask for any better than that? Quick, easy and pretty tasty. Good times.

I am loving the length and fullness of my beard right now.

Blue Jays vs Tigers on the TV at work right now. Awesome!

Had some sleep in time today since I was alone in the store for a while yesterday. Was nice.

Started reading for DC Trinity stuff that I almost forgot I had while I was on the street car and subway today. I bought the comics so I could use the covers as art. I may as well read them before I put them on the wall.

There are a lot of errors made in spring training baseball. I think I could play.

It’s Chuck night. I’m excited. I just hope I can stay awake long enough to watch it.

Thumbs down to the San Jose Sharks. Eff you guys. Losing and not scoring lots of goals for me is unacceptable.

The weather is supposed to be nice over the next few days. That’ll mean less sweaters for me, I like that prospect.

Lady Gaga has announced her North American tour dates. There are 4 Canadian dates set, so if you want to see Gaga and are in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto or Montreal you will have your chance.

I answer a lot of questions every day. It’s a pain in the arse.

I think it’s time for me to hang it up for today.

Have a great rest of the day.

Sunday Morning Musings, All Saints And Mother's Day Edition

Good Sunday dear friends.

Big thanks and lovin’ to E-ve for what was a great date night. We met in the rain, she had coffee in her hands and the rest, as they say, is history. We rocked some chicken skewers and jalapeno poppers and watched a double feature on the DVD player. Boondock Saints and Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day. There was a lot of shootin’ and a lot of killin’ and a lot of entertainment. Well done to everyone involved.

It wasn’t fun leaving to come to work this morning. Least favourite part of the whole thing.

Average night had in the hockey pool yesterday. Picked up 10 points. Which isn’t bad I guess. But I really need the San Jose Sharks and Canucks to keep filling the net this week. There are 7 games left to play between the 2 of them and I have 7 players committed to those 2 squads.

I hope that you’ve all remembered to turn your clocks ahead. I don’t want you missing important lunch dates and such.

Big ups to all the mothers in Ireland as it’s Mother’s Day today.

The first hockey game of the day starts in a few minutes. And I’m feeling like I’d like to have a day of writing and watching hockey, not serving customers. Don’t judge me.

Happy Birthday to super-blogger Kelly Diels. I won’t tell you her age because I don’t know and it’s none of my business.

Jesse McCartney is far more talented than he is given credit for.

Jake is also a talented dude and hopes are that the play is coming together as curtain gets closer.

Romeo has some talent, can’t deny that… but he needs to wear pants.

And Heath has been rocking his camera with talent something fierce lately. And I like it.

Have a great day kids. You all deserve it.

Just remember that everyone else deserves it too, so play nice.

Saturday Morning Musings, Welcome @H_S_S_E Edition

Hey there.

Happy Saturday. I’m excited. If you don’t know why, you haven’t been paying attention.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she has a day off to relax and chill out and do laundry or whatever else she busies herself with before I annoy the crap out of her later. I have no idea what our official plans are, mostly because I have no good ideas. I’m trying to leave it in her very capable hands.

It’s a long shift, but for some reason I’m feeling alright about it. I have some things that I want to try to accomplish and I read some Batman on the subway. Now I have a hot coffee and my fingers feel good on the keyboard. Look out world, I’m coming for ya.

Last night I watched Numbers before I called it a night. I’ve been watching the show for quite some time and have season 1 on DVD at the apartment. But once in a while when I’m watching it I can’t help but think about how odd it is to see the Quiz Master as an FBI agent.

We’re on an old school R&B kick in the store right now that was spurred on by Lil’ Wayne… because he drives us crazy.

If you have time today turn back the clock and hit youtube for 112 and Next and Jagged Edge and love it up. And if you’re a Canadian kid it’s your patriotic duty to listen to Money Jane.

And then tonight before you go to bed turn the clock back ahead again as we’re getting to daylight savings time again.

Mark May 8th on your calendars kiddies. That’s the night that Betty White has been confirmed to host Saturday Night Live. She is hilarious. She is a legend. She is old. I have no idea how this is going to play out, but a big part of me wants to check it out.

Pat Quinn is back in Toronto tonight as the bad guy as the Oilers try to knock off the Maple Leafs. It’s team #29 vs. team #30 at the ACC. Be ready to take sides.

Welcome Heterosexuals for Same Sex Equality to Twitter. If you believe that all people deserve the rights that straight people enjoy, you should check them out. I’m not preaching, just saying.  www.twitter.com/H_S_S_E

Good luck to Jake as he gets ready for his March Break bachelorhood. I hope that everything goes swimmingly.  And I hope that Romeo keeps his pants on.

The rain isn’t falling right now in Toronto, so I’m gonna go step outside.

Have a great day lovelies.

Friday Morning Musings, Up To E-ve, Down To Duke Edition

Hola amigos.

It’s Friday. Enjoy it.

I just turned NCAA basketball on the TV here at work. I’m getting into it. I must have been wrong yesterday, underestimated myself.

Big lovin’ to E-ve today while she rocks the lunch shift. Be nice and smile big and I promise she’ll return the favour.

Also, getting more excited every day as we get closer to a Saturday date. Yay!

Big win for the Maple Leafs last night in overtime. People are saying that the game winner was Phil Kessel’s biggest goal in a Leaf uniform. If it is, he hasn’t done much.

Bigger win for the Habs last night against the Oilers in the shootout. It shouldn’t have gone that far, Halak was shaky, the killer instinct wasn’t there when it needed to be, but 2 points go up on the board and they are sorely needed at this point in the season.

Congrats to Vanman444 in the CBC.ca fantasy hockey pool. Dude is leading the way this week with 70 points so far and has 4 Habs on the roster. I haven’t been that brave all season.

Little Big Town is putting a push on to have their new single “Little White Church” become #1 on iTunes. I haven’t heard it yet, but I love these guys. If you have a chance I say check it out and then tell me what you think.

I’m thinking that I should stop by the myspace today and see how things are going. Maybe it’s not dead after all.

Neither msn.ca or yahoo.ca are inspiring me to look at their links and stories today. Thumbs down to them.

As I said on Twitter today, Thumbs up to Roberto Luongo for carrying the Paralympic torch in his return to Vancouver with the Canucks. That’s a classy move from a dude that I’m sure has a lot going on.

The rain started this morning but has stopped, for now. I have my raincoat at the ready.

High fives to everyone today, I’m just handing them out. You’re welcome.

I hate Duke University basketball and I don’t care who knows it.

I also love my E-ve more than I hate Duke University basketball. And that’s a lot.

I think that’s all for this work week kiddies. Check the Twitter and maybe even the myspace for something new later.

Have a good one.

Thursday Morning Musings, Mid Afternoon Edition

Good day to you folks.

Here’s hoping that Thursday is going well.

Big ups to E-ve after a long lunch shift. Half price wings are a blessing and a curse depending on which side of the notepad you’re on.

Wag of the finger to the table that didn’t offer to share their cheesecake. How can you not share cheesecake? You know that everyone loves cheesecake. It’s a documented fact, I think.

The week is drawing to a close, and Saturday can’t come soon enough. I’m hoping that plans to catch a movie and such and have some much needed E-ve and Wally time work out as much as we hope.

Maybe we’ll see Alice and my mind will be blown. That’s what it’s supposed to do right?

Thumbs down to the Raptors who were terrible in the 3rd quarter last night in Sacramento. I’m still shaking my head.

The sun is shining, but they say the rain is on the way. I packed my little rain coat just in case.

Infinite Crisis confuses me, and I forgot that before I picked it back up. But I can’t put it back down again.

Everybody loves Zombies. Figure that one out.

The Mayfair Theatre is showing Clerks and Clerks II on March 22. If you have a chance I say go check it out. Should be a really good night.

March Madness will start soon. But I’m finding it hard to get excited since my Tar Heels won’t be involved. I’m sure that I could get into it anyway. But I don’t know who I’ll be cheering for. Probably the Syracuse Orange I guess.

I did pretty good at Jeopardy last night and even better at Wheel of Fortune. But the girl who won on Wheel was amazing on the final puzzle. I didn’t even have time to think before she blurted out Long Haul and took home $30,000 on top of the $12,000ish that she’d already won. Quite impressive.

I think that’s all for this afternoon friends. Have a great evening and remember that tomorrow is Friday. Hopefully that makes some of you smile.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Kobe Did It, I'm Sorry Edition

Good morning mes amis.

I hope that you are all smiling. I know it’s only Wednesday, but that’s not a bad thing. Look at the bright side, it’s not Tuesday.

Big loving to E-ve, she agreed with my statement about her oozing awesome. It wasn’t literal by the way. I love her, but that would be weird and a little gross.

Big ups to her also for coming up with some great ideas for upcoming hang out dates and menu ideas and such. She’s a smart one. I’m a lucky dude. She will probably agree with that too.

I would like to take this time to apologize to Toronto Raptors fans. Yesterday I said that I would take Kobe if it came down to one last game winning shot. And last night he proved me right. With 1.9 seconds left Bean/ Mamba/ Kobe rose up and hit a jumper with 2 dudes in his eye and the Lakers won 109-107. The only thing I can say is wow. And the only thing I can hope is that the Raps use their strong performance as motivation moving forward on the road trip.

I still haven’t won anything in Roll up the Rim.

Do a friend a solid and check out http://www.thereviewsarein.wordpress.com/ if you have a chance. That Joshua guy is pretty alright.

The CIBC is reporting that the Loonie could reach parity with the American dollar this summer. Be ready for complaints that things are still more expensive north of the border.

The weather is nice again today, but they say that the rain is coming. I suppose that I should be ready for it, it’s that time of year. But I’m not excited. Rain is nice to look at and listen to, but I don’t want to be out in it.

Day 2 today… only 8 more to go.

Big win for the Habs last night against the Lightning. As I’ve said, every game is huge from now til the end of the season.

I love music. Sometimes I forget that, but I love what a good song can do and where it can take you.

I think that’s about it for today kiddies. I hope that you all have a good hump day.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Kobe Or LeBron Edition

Howdy y’all.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Big lovin’ to E-ve. She is all kinds of awesome. It oozes from her being.

Tried to do a mock fantasy baseball draft this morning on Yahoo.ca. We got a little too busy for me to keep up with my turn or the auction. I’m not sure whether I’ll play in a league this year or not. But if I do I should probably start doing my research.

Curling is on the TV here at the store. Just because the Olympics are over doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy some rocks and ice.

I’m getting excited for the Iron Man 2 release. And E-ve telling me that she wants to see it is a big reason. There is little better than a girl that wants to see a comic book movie. Win!

The news is that Jaro Halak will start in goal tonight for the Habs. With the Lightning scoring goals a pretty good pace I hope he can stand tall. We need all the wins we can get in our last 15 games.

Good luck to the Good Lovelies who have been nominated for Root & Traditional Album of the Year: Group. And since I don’t know anything about any of the nominees I’m thinking that the girls have a pretty good shot at winning. And that would be pretty cool.

Scientists are saying that it’s just coincidence that there have been so many big earthquakes around the world lately. This isn’t a preview of 2012 or anything.

The Raptors are in LA tonight to play the Lakers. It’s a game that would be absolutely amazing to win. But I’m not holding my breath. I don’t recommend that you hold yours either.

If I’m building an NBA team from scratch I’ll take LeBron James with my first overall pick. But if I need 1 shot to win a big game, give me Kobe Bryant. That’s just the way it is.

I looked at a pretty cool bike yesterday. The frame was a weird green, but it was still cool. 27 speeds, disk brakes and street tires. But $970 is a pretty heavy price tag for me.

I’ll stick to the street car.

Seal meat is going to be added to the menu at the Parliamentary restaurant. Let the controversy begin.

I think that’s all for today my friends. Remember to tell the ones that you love how great they are. They deserve it.

And as always, if you’re only here this one day of the week, see you next Tuesday.

Sunday Morning Musings, I Forgot How To Work Edition

Good day friendlies.

I hope that you’re all enjoying the remarkable weather today.

E-ve and I had a great date at home yesterday with Inglorious Basterds and some chicken nuggets and jalapeno poppers and garlic bread. It was a great date after too many days in a row without one.

Speaking of too many days in a row… I have an unexpected day off tomorrow and then start 10 days in a row at the store. Yikes.

Tonight is Oscar night, so make sure that you have your fancy clothes and popcorn ready. It’ll be a long show, but hopefully there will be some funny to keep it moving along. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will either sink or swim, like all the other hosts before them. I’m hoping that they swim.

I’ve already picked up 2 points in the hockey pool this afternoon. And that’s a good thing since I forgot to update my line-up and have the same guys as last week. And I only got 1 point last night. It sucks.

I’ve been all over the Batman lately, re-reading things from the shelf since E-ve picked up my birthday present. This morning I dove back into Hush and am glad I did. It’s a good story. I like it. Two thumbs up.

The Raptors are playing on the HD right now in the store. I’m hoping for a win over the 76ers. It’s badly needed. Momentum down the stretch is a must, especially with a west coast road trip coming up.

I saw something on the ticker this morning that made me feel very proud to be Canadian. Tim Horton’s is planning on opening 900 new outlets. That’s a lot of new coffee shops. And, I’m no expert, but it seems to me that it’s pretty good news for the economy. That’s a bunch of every day jobs, a bunch of construction contracts and a bunch of hot coffee. Everybody wins.

Side note: I still haven’t won with Roll up the Rim.

Side note II: I have enjoyed 2 free coffees from McDonalds.

Planning on going snacky for lunch today with some granola bars and crackers and stuff. I think it’s a good plan, and then I’ll eat real food for dinner.

I like being dressed in a shirt and tie and all, but wearing jeans was pretty awesome for 3 days.

I think that’s all for today y’all. I hope that you have a great rest of Sunday.

Tally whoa!

Saturday Morning Musings, Fresh Air Through The Window Edition

Hey kiddies.

Welcome to the weekend. I'm sure some of you have already started it already.

Big lovin' to my E-ve who is gonna make her way over for some hanging out later. That deserves a yay!

Yay!

Hi and miss you guys goes out to Jake and Romeo and Heath.

The Home Cooking Experiment had a lunch time attempt today with pasta, oven baked weiners with onion mixed w/ and salsa and bbq sauce. It was pretty good. I'd do it again.

Penguins vs. Stars on my TV right now. Tallboy keeping me company and making it feel like Saturday.

Need/ would like a bigger apartment and a boat load of cash. Call me if you have either to donate.

Took out some garbage already today. More to come. Er, go I mean.

The fresh air coming in through the window is great.

Big thank yous to everyone that has pushed us over 1500 views. And tell your friends so we can boost my ego up with some more.

I think that's all for today friends. Lots to do before I get lazy.

Friday Morning Musings, Roll Up The National Anthem To Win Edition

Good day my friends.

I apologize for my lack of being here lately. I've been trying to keep the Twitter feed updated a little, but other stuff has been in the way.

Big love to my biggest fan E-ve who reminded me that I've been slipping. She's also a pretty awesome person with some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies waiting ready for her breakfast this morning. Xoxo.

- Habs lost in San Jose after a great game by Carey Price and a stupid cheap shot hit by Max LaPierre. Not impressed Max, probable suspension coming from the NHL today.

- Blue Jays won! That's right. The Blue Jays, my boys of summer, are now playing their exhibition schedule and knocked off the Tigers 9-7 yesterday afternoon.

- Last work day before the Oscars. Make sure that you get your picks in for the office pool. Good luck.

- Cyndi Lauper has been announced as the headlining act for 2010's Toronto Gay Pride Festival. She will be playing a free concert during the week and represents a new addition to the already huge and amazing week that Toronto and the Pride committee put together every year.

- The weather is getting warmer in Toronto my friends. They are calling for a high of 4 today, 8 tomorrow and 9 on Sunday. And it's only the 1st week of March. Maybe this summer won't be so blah as last year.

- Roll up the Rim is indeed now back and I'm sure that you already knew that. But here's what I want to mention. There has to be a better way. Tim Hortons needs to become greener. I know that to most of us in Canada see Tim's as an institution and may be more adverse to change with them than we are about the national anthem (more on that later) but change is needed. I have a reusable mug and so does E-ve but if you use it you don't get to be 1 of the lucky few who roll after finishing their coffee and hope to win. Le sigh. I wrote about this last year too. Maybe I'll dust that piece off.

- The government has started debating whether or not the lyrics to Oh Canada should be changed to become gender neutral. Now, if this were the USA we would just have a prop amendment on an election ballot and that would be it. But here it's all up to the folks representing us in the House. If you think it's crazy, maybe send a quick email to your member to let them know it's fine the way it is.

- I need to buy lottery tickets and win a jackpot. Just saying.

- Slept better than Wednesday night, but still not enough. Perhaps a mid-morning nap before I tackle my day.

- Keep smiling and high fiving and being great out there kids.

I think that's all for today.

Have a good one.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Evening And Sorry For Being Away Edition

Hello world.

I hope you’re well.

Sorry about the delay in writing. It’s been a long few days.

Big ups to E-ve. She’s pretty awesome and working hard. I’m happy to report that games night was a success (I think) and everyone had a good time. Here’s hoping that they don’t have to wait long to have another.

Lots of love to everyone who is always in my corner.

I am thinking of getting french fries for dinner tonight on the way home. I don’t want to kill the Home Cooking Experiment, but I’ve got a craving and it’s hard to ignore. I also think that since I didn’t eat a real lunch I can use that as an exception.

I’ve been trying to keep the Twitter feed rolling, but since the Olympics have ended there hasn’t been much to say.

I will say this though; the Toronto Raptors are in trouble. They can’t seem to win without Chris Bosh, and he hasn’t been on the floor. You do the math. Sad faces.

Now I don’t want to get on a rant here, (Dennis Miller, anyone remember him?) but I thought we had a chance to catch Boston for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics look old and tired and we should have been able to catch them in the second half of the season. The guys look weak on defense, sloppy on offense and are letting some really good momentum get away. Sonny Weems can keep throwing down fast break dunks all night, but it’s not going to win us any games. Pull up your socks boys. Both figuratively and literally (it’s a good look, search Keith Van Horn in Google images) and let’s see what happens.

The newest list of competitors has been released for Dancing with the Stars. It includes Pamela Anderson and Kate Gosselin and Chad Ochocinco among others. I don’t watch the show, so we’ll wait and see what the fans and critics think.

It seems as though winter has ended in Toronto now that the Olympics are over. Roll up the Rim has started at Tim Hortons and the weather is getting warmer. Get your flip flops ready my friends.

High fives to everyone who celebrated peacefully after Canada’s win over the USA on Sunday. I am proud of you. It was an emotional event and you showed some true Canadian spirit. As for the rest of you, please remember next time that happy isn’t a reason to wreck stuff. Merci.

I think that’s all for this evening mes amis. Have a good night.

And, as for always, if this is the only day you’re here each week, we’ll see you next Tuesday.
