Friday Morning Musings - Time To Travel Edition

Good morning bat-friends.

Today's the day that I sit at work and count down the hours and minutes until it's time to go and catch my ride to Ottawa.

Good times are ahead on a show string budget.  And one of my shoe laces is broken.

Work will distract me.  A good day is upon us.  I can feel it.

If you're not on Twitter yet btw, get on it... lots going on.

I'm currently listening to a bunch of songs that I've been missing from the 90's.  The last few years of the decade really were dominated by female artists.  It's fantastic to go back and listen to.

Jake's bday is so close I can taste the cake.  Send your best wishes with me.

Much love to a friend whose dad is in recovery mode from a heart attack.  Our bigger wishes and prayers are with the family while he gets better.

I'll try and use someone's laptop to update while I'm away.

Have a great weekend, even if you have to work Monday when I'm still off :)

Peace and love and such.

Thursday Morning Musings - I Love Coffee Edition

Good morning kids.

I hope that you're all well.

Isn't it great to be almost done a short week at work?  And you know what's even better?  I have a short week coming up again!

The countdown is super short now until Ottawa for Jake's bday.  I'm jazzed.

The countdown is even shorter for NFL football which kicks off tonight.  That's exciting.  Very exciting.

I'm also hoping that I made good picks, because winning some of the money in the office pool would be sweet.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love coffee?  I should, I love it!

I also love beer, but not at the same time.

And bacon, but bacon goes with everything.

Thumbs down to the Blue Jays for sucking hardcore last night against the Rangers.  Not a good game of baseball from the hometown 9.

Thumbs up to less than 1 month before NHL regular season puck drop.  Excite!

I hafta get back to it friends, but have a great day.

Also, I'm taking New Orleans over the Vikings tonight.

Tuesday Morning Musings - Where Does The Time Go Edition

Hey y'all.

I hope that your week started well yesterday and that today has been a good day as well.

Happy birthday to Mommy Z today and Step-dad Z yesterday.

I know it's still early to judge the day as a whole.  But after 2 cups of coffee and a small sense of relief/ accomplishment at the office I think today is lined up to be a winner.

Right now I'm rocking some internet Country radio courtesy of iTunes and I like it.  Judge all you like.  It won't change anything.

The countdown is now on until the next trip to Ottawa to see Jake and Romeo and the gang.  And, I'm pleased to report that I have booked an extra day off for the weekend.  So that's awesome.

If you're in the Ottawa area and want to hang out on the weekend of the 12th let me know here on or Twitter.

I need more Batman books.  I know I've said that a lot.  But I think it's time to sacrifice some other purchases so that I can make that happen.

Alright, there's a lot going on in the office and on my desktop right now, so I should get to it.

I hope that you all have a rocking day!

Until I speak to you again, be good to one another.

And as always, if you're only here this one day a week, see you next Tuesday.

Friday Morning Musings - Holy Weekend Batman!

Hey there Bat-friends.

I hope that you're all well and rocking your Friday.

This week has passed quickly... don't get me wrong, some moments have dragged, but holy cow, it's Friday already.

Work has been great, mostly because I've been listening to podcasts (Bill Simmons @espn.com & all of the smodcast.com network) and music (grooveshark.com) every day. It's been fantastic.

It's almost fantasy hockey time, and today the goal is to come up with a great name for my team before I start putting together my draft board.

I'm going to surprise some people this year.  Look for updates.

Time to get some work done.  Hit me on Twitter (@wallyzblogger) with your fantasy sleeper picks... penalty minutes and shots count as points for me... so keep that in mind.

Have a great weekend kids.  Rock out hard.

Monday Morning Musings - Back To Work Edition

Hey all, Happy Monday.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend.

E-ve looks great in the pictures from her friend's bachelorette party. Take my word for it.

Thankfully there are no pictures of me from the double bachelor parties that I was at back home. Not that there was anything scandalous going on... but after a lot of beer I just don't look good in photos.

Big ups to the cheap beer prices back home. My goodness it is so much cheaper to party there than it is in Toronto.

Thumbs down to the Blue Jays who weren't able to take any momentum from a 16-2 drubbing of the Red Sox on Friday night... they friggin' lost Saturday and Sunday.

Back in the office this morning. Coffee is my friends as per usual.

I should get back to the grind...

Hockey season is only a month and a half away. That's the happy thought of the day. Run with it.

Have a great day kids.

I'll be back soon.

Friday Morning Musings - It's Here Edition

Hey y'all.

I hope that you've all managed to get here safely.

Here's hoping that Wing Night went well for E-ve and her co-workers last night.

The weekend is so close I can taste it. In fact, I can almost taste the beer that is going to be downed back home this weekend at 2 separate bachelor parties.

That's going to be a gong show.

Scary moment last night as Anthony Calvio of the Montreal Alouettes was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after falling hard.

Big ups to everyone who has stopped back in and given me another chance. I know that I was away for a long time.

If you're on Twitter lemme know you're handle so that I can give you a follow.

We are now less than 50 days away from the start of the NHL regular season. How great is that?

That's my happy thought for the day.

Stay well my friends. Be awesome like I know you all are.

Have a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Musings - So Close Edition

Hey all.

I hope that Thursday has started well for all of you.

I was rocking out a little to hard at my desk and got a friendly ICQ (that's right we use ICQ in the office) message to get me to stop tapping my feet so loud.

I'll call that a good start to the day.

Also a good start was the free Subway breakfast that I picked up on my way to the office.

Thumbs down to the Blue Jays bullpen after losing 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th inning yesterday in Oakland. Especially after we scored 3 runs to tie the game in the top half of the inning.

Positive thoughts and wishes to all of you and the ones that you care about most. And the same to the ones that I care about most. You know who you are.

I'm in my "get rest and prepare" phase before what could be a legendary Saturday night back home. yikes.

K kids, I've got to get back to it.

Have a great day and keep rocking!

Tuesday Morning Musings - Musical Day

Good morning mes amis.

I hope that you all survived Monday unscathed and are now rocking Tuesday.

I'm listening to a lot of musical tracks today. It seems to be a happy place today.

If you have suggestions fire them to me on Twitter @WallyZ

Bug ups to the Blue Jays and Shaun Marcum on a great game last night in Oakland that I fell asleep during.

Maybe tonight I'll nap and stay up for the game.

It's a glorious day weather wise here in the big smoke. The humidity is almost nonexistent and the sun is out. I lurve it.

I hope that you're all well. And join me in sending positive thoughts out to all the ones I care about it. E-ve, Jake, Romeo, Heath, Julia and all of you.

Have a great day kids.

And in case this is the only day you stop by, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Post Weekend Edition

Hola amigos.

I hope that you all had a great little weekend.

Fingers crossed that E-ve didn't get caught in a rainstorm.

There have been some wicked thunder and lightning storms throughout Ontario in the last few days. I wish there had been more in my neighbourhood. If you have any awesome pictures let me know. I'd love to see them.

High fives to my Twitter folks. I missed you guys. I'll be back more often. Even a couple times this morning!

This morning has been a good start to the week. No complaints sitting at the desk. I think that I should have some more coffee.

Getting hyped for Jake's bday and my next visit.

Also hyped that Romeo has found a new place. Good job buddy.

Time to get back to the grind. And to make another cup of coffee.

Have a good day friends.

You deserve it.

Friday Morning Musings - We Made It Edition

Hey kids.

I hope that you had a good Thursday and are rocking your Friday so far.

Big ups to E-ve on a Friday at the restaurant.

I did some karaoke in Toronto last night. It was a good time. There were some great sing a long tunes in the rotation... but I must point out that the dude who sang Total Eclipse didn't hold a candle to what Jake and Romeo and I do to that song.

I'm currently fighting the urge for another trip to Ottawa without anything but the clothes on my back... Doesn't make much sense to go does it?

If you aren't listening to the podcasts at www.smodcast.com you should start. They are all funny. And while Mo & Glo doesn't always make me laugh I have nothing especially bad to say about it.

I just wish Ingram wasn't so angry all the time.

The Expendables comes out today... there are a lot of people excited about it. Me, I don't know.

I should get back to working. You all know how it is.

One last note: How about those Blue Jays and their 9th inning comeback win against the Red Sox yesterday afternoon in front of a crowd of 36,000. Well done les boys.

Have a great Friday friends.

And an awesome weekend as well.

Thursday Morning Musings - Almost There Edition

Good morning kids.

We've made it all the way to Thursday already.  We're almost to the weekend.  Which is awesome because at the new job I actually get weekends off.

Welcome home to E-ve who was in Ottawa for a few days.  It seems like things went well.

I have a jonesing to head to Ottawa this weekend to see Jake and Romeo again this weekend.  But I think I'm going to hold out for Jake's birthday in a few weeks.  It's coming in a month.

I can't wait for hockey to come back.  I love baseball and all, but there's something about the Habs fans and the way we interact that makes hockey season even better than it used to be.

Speaking of baseball... thumbs down to the Blue Jays after last night's game.  the Red Sox just ran them over... it was tough.

Here's hoping that they put together a better performance this afternoon.

High fives to all of you.  You deserve them.

Time to get back to work.

Be well mes amis.

Wednesday Morning Musings - Mid-Week Edition

Hey all, hope that things are all going well.

Last night was pretty cool as 2 of the Brothers Z and I hit the Blue Jays game together.  There were some other friends there with us as well.  Great time had by all.

It would have been cooler if we could have picked up a win.  But next time!

Big love and hugs to my favourite little guy in the world today on his birthday.

Shout outs to everyone who has rediscovered the blog over the last week after I was away for so long.  My bad.  And my love to you.

Maybe I'll get back to Twitter at some point.

I have to jet for now, but stick around.  I'll try to make it worth your while.

Monday Morning Musings... I'm Alive

Hey all.

I'm really sorry that I haven't been here, or on Twitter in the last few months.  It's been a hectic time in the life of Wally Z.  Both in good and bad ways.

There's always a bright side, always hope and always light at the end of the tunnel though.  Never forget that.  Please.

I'm working at a new job, writing.  I'm living in the same place, for now.  I'm loving the Blue Jays season, completely.  And I still love you know who.

I'm at work right now actually, so I should get back to it.

For anyone who has stopped by in since I wrote last looking for something new, I'm sorry.

I can't promise that I'll be here daily, but I'll be around.

Much love to all of you.

Have a great day.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Day 2, Game 2 Edition

Good morning folks.

I hope that everyone is having a grand Tuesday thus far.

Big lovings to E-ve on her much deserved day off. I haven't heard from her yet which means she's probably sleeping in as I would have recommended!

Also, feel better soon wished out to E-ve's dad. I hope you'll pass these along with me.

It's day 2 at the new working and things are going smoothly so far. Hoping for some results sooner rather than later, but the hard work will lead to that. I just have to remember to be charming.

It's also ECF game 2 night as the Habs look to bounce back against the Flyers. Believe you me, I will be cheering hard tonight.

Thumbs up to the TTC who have delivered me to work 2 days in a row on time. I know that's how it's supposed to go, but it's not always a given.

The countdown is on for Jake and Romeo's invasion of Toronto. Yay!

Chuck was pretty darn good last night. As far as finales go I'm satisfied. There will be lots of action next season if things pick up where they left off.

House also came through with a pretty good show. I didn't know what I was expecting and I wasn't let down with the finished product.

I think that's all for today. I should eat some peanut butter sammich.

Go Habs Go!

And, as always, if you're only here this one day a week, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, 1st Lunch Edition

Howdy kids!

Welcome to Monday. I hope that it has found you well.

Writing from my lunch break on my first day at the new job. Go team!

Big hugs and love to E-ve while she works a lunch shift today. Here's hoping for awesome people for her.

We're going to pretend that the Habs lost 1-0 nothing in a tightly contested first game of their series with the Flyers last night.

High fives to Jake and Romeo who will be here to visit soon. I'm excited to see them. It's been far too long since my bday.

A big welcome to any new readers. If you're a first timer or I've never shouted you out before, let me know here or on Twitter @wallyzblogger.

I'm giving a big hand to the Blue Jays who won again yesterday, sweeping the Rangers. That's what I like to see. Now the Twins are in town and our pitching is going to have to stay tough, but I have faith in our nine.

It's a gorgeous day weather wise and I'm writing this while sitting outside on a bench in the shade. How cool is that?

Word is that Julia and her fam are finally going to move in to their new place for reals. So it looks like E-ve and I are going to have to schedule a visit soon.

Chuck is on tonight. And Mr. Bartowski is back! I'm jacked for that, don't doubt it.

I think we'll end on that happy note.

Have a great day mes amis.

Sunday Morning Musings, ECF Game 1 Edition

Good morning kiddies.

I hope that you're having a good Sunday so far.

Big lovin' to E-ve as she gets ready for another long day at the resto. I hope it goes smoothly. X's and O's.

High fives to Cassie Campbell for picking the Canadiens over the Flyers in the Eastern Conference Finals. There haven't been many media types who have made that pick. Good choice Cassie, I'm with ya.

Just finished watching Ultimate Avengers 2... I'm a DC guy, but it was a good watch. I'd seen parts of it before but never the whole thing.

Thumbs up to Ricky Romero after he dominated the Texas Rangers yesterday afternoon. Ricky struck out 12 and threw his first complete game shut out. The 12 K's also put Ricky in a tie for the American League lead for strike outs this season.

Pork chops are in a little marinade for the afternoon before I cook them up for dinner. Not sure what's going to go with, but I'll figure it out.

Shout outs today to some of my awesome Twitter folk - @romeoblogs @technicolor_cat @trashyleesuh @joshua_

I think that's how we'll end it today friends.

Have a great day doing what ever it is you've got planned.

Saturday Morning Musings, Jays vs Rangers Edition

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, readers of all ages, Happy Saturday!

Big smiling love to my E-ve. She's got a long shift ahead of her today. I wish for excellent tippers with positive attitudes and good manners. X's and O's.

Just finished watching some Glee on demand. That's right, I said it. I love that show. I just watched the episode with Ice Ice Baby, Can't Touch This, Physical and Total Eclipse of the Heart. All of the numbers were well done and make me wanna sing.

The Blue Jays and Rangers go at this afternoon at the Rogers Centre. The Jays won a slugfest last night. Pounding out 15 hits, including 5 home runs, on their way to a 16-10 win. That's a lot of scoring.

And while the Jays and Rangers were trading blows last night the Flyers and Bruins were vying for the 2nd spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals.

The Bruins were winning the series 3 games to none and looked like the easy favourite to move on. But the Flyers came back. And last night in game 7 the Bruins took a 3-0 lead and again looked like the easy favourite to move on. But the Flyers came back again to win 4-3 and win the series.
So, the Flyers will now host the Canadiens on Sunday night at 7 to open the ECF. The Flyers have a tough defensive corps and some physical forwards, but I still believe in my Habs.

Today has been a coffee and writing day so far. I have a feeling it will continue along those lines as the day goes on.

Called and left a message for Mommy Z this morning so maybe I'll talk to her today.

Less than 1 week til Jake and Romeo are here.

Podcast will return to work then.

Have a great day friends.

Friday Morning Musings, Hey There Edition

Hi friends.

Sorry for the delay in posting. For a while there my BB hasn't wanted to work with blogger. Today it looks like it might!

Big lovin' to E-ve. She's the awesome, amazing, fantastic woman that makes my life a better place.

Since I've last posted a lot has happened.

- got a new job.

- Habs won their series over Pittsburgh.

- cooked a lot of food at home.

- finished up plans for Jake and Romeo to be here next weekend.

- fell deeper in love w/ NCIS.

- talked to Mommy Z for Mother's Day.

- returned a bunch of bottles and cans to the Beer Store.

I've also been watching my Blue Jays play some baseball. Not live yet, the cash hasn't been there. But on TV. I'm loving the hitting from the bottom of the line-up and the starting pitching has been great most nights. Here's hoping that Adam Lind and Aaron Hill pick up the pace and we win some ball games.

Alright kids. I've got some things to accomplish. So I'm gonna say bye for now. Here's hoping that I'm back again soon!

Have a groovy day.

Friday Morning Musings, TGIF Quick Fire Edition

Hey kids.

No time today, so we're going to be really quick.

1. I love my E-ve like crazy.  I miss her  when she's not around.  I text her a little too often.  And more than anything I want to make her happy.  She's awesome.

2. Go Habs Go! Last night's win over the Penguins was huge.  The series is now tied 2-2 and there is a real chance that les Canadiens could win this round.

3. Go Jays Go!  The Blue Jays won their 5th game in a row last night with a 2-0 shutout of the White Sox (Boo those White Sox) and are now 10-3 on the road so far this year and 17-13 over all.

4. Shout out to Kelly Diels @ www.kellydiels.com her latest post has received a lot of comments and is a pretty deep look into what's in her head right now.  Not an easy thing to post.

5. Iron Man 2 is out today.  There are a lot of people that are excited to go and see it.  I'm one of them.  I hope that the chance presents itself.

6.  Soon Jake and Romeo will be here to visit.  Train tickets and hotel room are booked.  We need to make some plans and find somewhere to eat breakfast.  But we'll figure something out.

7.  I love country music.

8.  Yesterday was a birthday for one of the brothers Z.  I hope he had a good one.

9.  2 days ago was a birthday for my fav aunt.

10.  I'm making plans for an awesome dinner tonight.  I hope it works as well as I have planned.

11.  It's time for me to split.

12.  Betty White will be hosting Saturday Night Live this week.  It should be good.

13.  Sunday is Mother's Day.  Consider yourself reminded.

Monday Morning Musings, Flip Flops And Habs Win Edition

Good afternoon kiddies.

I hope that the weekend was awesome.  Mine was.  Let's break it down.  Rock show Saturday night, E-ve time after the rock show, 2 year anniversary brunch with E-ve, Habs win, nap, grilled cheese.

Huge love to my E-ve.  She really is the rock that keeps me rolling.  The smile that is on my face right now is because of her, and she's not even here right now.  I'm a lucky lucky dude.  And I know I say that a lot, but if you knew, you'd feel the same way.

High fives to The Cunninghams for putting on a great show at the El Mo Saturday night.  Check out www.thelongformmusings.blogspot.com to find out just how much I enjoyed it.

Thumbs up to the Habs for winning game 2 against the Penguins.  This is looking like a series that could play out much like the Capitals series did.  And I'm okay with that.  It ended pretty well for my guys.

I had some tasty frosted flakes and muslix for breakfast this morning thanks to my nutritional guide.  Merci E-ve.

The sun is out and shining and bringing the heat today.  It's shorts and flip flops for this boy today.  Be jealous.

I think that's all I've got for now mes amis.  I gotta jet.

Have a goodie.

Friday Morning Musings, What The Buck? Edition

Good day to you all.

I'm a little pressed for time, so let's make this quick and dirty.

Big love to my E-ve.  She's awesome, dedicated, hard workin', pretty and smart... what more could I ask for?  And happy almost anniversary to us.

I'm hoping that I can get her firmly planted on the Habs bandwagon as the Pittsburgh series starts tonight.  New and even temporary Habs fans are always welcome.  Come aboard.  Hold on tight.  And enjoy the ride.

With that said, I'd like to wish my favourite Pens fan - @technicolor_cat the best of luck and I hope your viewing parties are great fun.

I also look forward to messages back and forth with Romeo as we get excited at the same things in the game at the same time.  Go us.

I'm starting to get used to McDonalds coffee.  I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  I had a much better cup of coffee from a small place in the neighbourhood yesterday, and I can still tell the difference.  But this stuff doesn't make me want to quit drinking it.

Congrats to the Blue Jays' John Buck.  Dude had himself a night against the A's by jacking 3 home runs.  He became the 15th Blue Jay to go deep at least 3 times in a game and the first catcher in the big leagues to do it since 2004.  And, we won!

K, like I said, pressed for time.

So, I hope that you all have great weekends, and if it rains, like it's supposed to,  I hope you stay dry.

Thursday Morning Musings, Habs Win, Habs Win Edition

Good morning friends.

As the title of today's blog suggests, the Habs won last night.  I'm a happy boy!

Much lovin' to E-ve for working so very, very hard.  She deserves all the good things that come to her in the world.

And more.

Much work to be done today.  Big plans in my head, and lots of goals, short term and long term that need to be accomplished.

High fives to everyone that's awesome.

It's a nice, warm day in the city today.  No jacket required.  Part of me is sorry for those of you in Calgary that are stuck in the snow, the other part is a bad man and may be giggling a little bit.

Jaroslav Halak is my homeboy.

I'm looking pretty preppy today, in a laid back kind of way.  I like it.

Probably shouldn't have skipped breakfast.

Call someone today and tell them that you love them.

Gotta jet kids.  Go forth and be great.  I know you've got it in you.

Wednesday Morning Musings, I'm Still Here Edition

Hey kids.

I'm super sorry for being away.  I've had posts written and ready to go for the past 2 days in a row but my BB hasn't let me post.  What a jerk eh.

Big lovin' to E-ve.  I am crazy happy that her migraine is feeling better today.  Her being healthy and happy is the primary goal.  I hope that I'm doing a good job.

Also thanks to her for supporting my Habs.  Even if she isn't a fan after the play-offs end, I'll take it for now.

Speaking of the Habs, it's game 7 tonight.  The biggest game of the season thus far.  The Caps have been pushed to the edge by the team that they were supposed to handle easily.  We've got them exactly where we want them... on the ropes and making line-up changes.

Go Habs Go!

Can't wait to see Jake and Romeo... the time is coming.

The Losers has been a pretty good read so far.  I haven't dedicated the kind of time to it that it deserves from me... but I will.  I promise.

And speaking of losing... the Blue Jays are killing me right now.  Two games in a row have been lost by 1 run to the Red Sox.  I'm not sure which was worse, the 13-12 slugfest or the 2-1 game last night that was lost on a bases loaded walk.  Arg.

Glee was once again awesome last night.  I love the singing and story and Sue Sylvester and all of it.

And Chuck was awesome on Monday night.  We're back to new episodes and I love it!  Chuck and Sarah are a couple, Casey is back and Morgan is on Team Bartowski.  I'm a happy, happy boy.

K, I'm doing about a thousand things today so it's time to go.

Have a great hump day.

Thursday Morning Musings, Earth Day 2010 Edition

Hey hey kids.

It's Earth Day. Here's hoping that you're taking a look at what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and keep things greening up.

Big ups to my E-ve. She made a great pasta and shrimp dinner with salad to start and pudding to finish. She rocked my taste buds. Was awesome. It's always a good time when she's here. I lurve it.

Was a sad thing seeing the Habs lose to the Caps. We're down 3-1 in the series now and things don't look good. But a boy can hope.

Worky tomorrow.

Bloggy today.

I wish the DVD player was working. There are some flicks that I've been jonesing to watch. Oh well. It had a good run.

I really dig Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Jake and I have talked about it. Makes him wanna open a place of his own. Makes me wanna cook and eat. A lot. We watched it last night. The steak place they hit up was fantastic. It is totally a show I would pick up on DVD and try to play with some of the dishes that they are making in these restaurants.

More good reviews for Kick-Ass as Romeo went to pick up the graphic novel because he like the movie.

Poor reviews for the Blue Jays home stand. The Royals picked up a 10th inning win yesterday afternoon. Today is an off day, and then it's back to the grind tomorrow.

It's sunny today, but was quite chilly earlier. Here's hoping it's nicer later.

I think that's all I've got for Thursday. Have a great day. Stay out of trouble.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Sid's A Monster Edition

Good morning kiddies.

Big ups to Mother Nature for the sunshine today. Well done lady.

Bigger ups to E-ve. Have a great shift and a better day my love. Also, E-ve is a pretty awesome baker. I forgot to swoon over the blueberry muffins that she made, they were super tasty. And the birthday cake she made for her friend over the weekend looked fantastic as well.

All reports and reviews so far are that Kick-Ass is a movie worth seeing. Jake and Romeo saw it Monday night and I got Jake's take on it last night. And another friend saw it last night and was quite enthusiastic in telling me to do myself a favour and see the flick.

I picked up a copy of The Losers yesterday. So far I've barely cracked the cover. But with the movie coming I got intrigued.

The Blue Jays look to sweep the Royals this afternoon in the open dome. It's a win that would be really nice to get after being swept by the Angels in the last series. Ot would also mean a 5 win and 5 loss record on the first home stand of the year. And that's better than 4 and 6.

Go Habs Go. I still believe in Carey Price.

I dreamed of junk food for dinner and now E-ve is making fun of me a little.

Sidney Crosby has been a monster so far in the play-offs. Check his numbers and ask anyone who has watched. He is running the Sens out of the tournament.

Time to go for now friends.

Have a great day. I wish you nothing less.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Hope And Yes We Can Edition

Hey kids.

Hope that things are going well. Hope is back. That's a good thing mes amis. I needed it.

Dear E-ve,

Merci, you are amazing to me. I thank you. And love you very much.

Go Jays Go! I know that I haven't been to see the boys yet. But I will. I promise. I am happy with a big 8-1 win over the Royals last night. We needed that one.

Not happy the Habs lost 5-1. But that's all I want to say about that.

The sun is back out again today. And that's awesome. With high temps coming up to about 19 I think I might rock shorts and flip flops for a little walk. That's right. I said it.

Miranda Lambert. If you don't know that name, go on YouTube and punch it in. She's pretty great. I love the edge. And congrats to the girl. Sunday was a good night for her.

Tea time I think friends. I'll talk to ya later.

And as per always. If this is the 1 day a week you stop by, see you next Tuesday!

Monday Morning Musings, I'm Alive, Sorry, Edition

Hey all.

I know that I've been away a while. Sorry about that.

Wanted to let you all know that I'm alive and kicking. Not at the top of my game, but I'll get back to it.

Big, huge love to E-ve for being here for me no matter what. I'm a lucky guy. We all know it.

And congrats to E-ve as well for rocking her exams last week! I'm very proud of her.

Go Habs go!

I'm fighting a cold that just doesn't want to go away. It's only been a few days, but it feels longer at this point. Grr.

High fives to Romeo and Jake. They are the awesome and I can't wait to see them in May as plans stand now.

I look handsome today. So that's a good thing. Oh ya.

The NBA and NHL play-offs have started. And if you aren't watching, boy are you missing some amazing sports. These dudes are all laying it on the line. Love it.

As for the Blue Jays... Sigh. After a good start the boys of summer were swept at home by the Angels. Not a good thing. And now we have the Royals coming in. I really want to see some wins. Let's go boys.

The sun is shining and I'm about to go out and enjoy it. I hope you get to do the same.

Have a good one kids. I'll try to be back again soon.

Sunday Morning Musings, Another Day Edition

Hey kids.

Excited to see E-ve today. I miss her. It'll be the awesome.

Big ups to Jake and Romeo. Those guys are pretty darn awesome too. Romeo is working out some of the kinks out with the podcast. We're thinking of doing some more recording today.

The Habs finally did it, clinched a play-off spot. I think I should be happier. But I'm not. They're backing in, there isn't much momentum right now. The first round could be quick.

The grocery store was a success yesterday. The cupboards are much more full than they were before. And almost everything was on sale. Win.

And the Blue Jays won again. Win.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is on my TV. No idea how that happened.

And so is hockey. Go figure.

Have a great day friends. Enjoy the sunshine.

Saturday Morning Musings, Just 1 Freakin' Point Edition

Good morning kiddies.

Big, huge, over-sized, over-the-top lovin' to my E-ve. She's the awesome.

Tonight the Habs play the Leafs and here's the deal, if the Habs win or even get to overtime they clinch a play-off spot. If not, and I pray this doesn't come to pass, everything depends on the Flyers and NY Rangers tomorrow. Mon Dieu, Habs fans have never hated the Leafs more than they do today.

Side note: I still love my Leafs fan friends. Just not your team.

Thank you to everyone for crossing your fingers for me yesterday. It totally worked and I now have a new job.

Second best news of the day yesterday is that Romeo has an edited podcast ready to go! I'm excited to hear it. And excited to come up with something new this Sunday.

Go Jays Go. The Blue Jays are now 3-1 on the young season after a 9th inning comeback in Baltimore yesterday. Vernon Wells didn't hit a home run though... So he's back to a 162 pace.

Now that my PS2 has come back to life I can't decide what to play. NBA so I can actually see the Raptors win? PGA because of the Masters? NHL with the play-offs coming? Or MLB cause that's what's in there now?

Still working on my Batman guest post for Romeo. Hope to be emailing him a draft later today.

I think that's all for now my friends. I'll be around all day, so check the Twitter feed.

Friday Morning Musings, Keep 'Em Crossed Edition

Good morning kids.

TGIF and Happy Friday to all of you. I hope you all rock today.

Big ups to E-ve for being my biggest fan. She's pretty awesome. I'm her biggest fan too. Here's hoping that she has a good day start to finish.

Disappointment again last night for Habs fans last night. Carolina took it to Montreal on the day they were awarded the 2011 All-Star Game. The Habs now need 1 point against the Leafs tomorrow or a loss by the NY Rangers to lock up a play-off spot.

Have you checked in on www.erraticthoughtpatterns.blogspot.com yet? That's where the podcast is going to land. And I've been throwing up some updates and such while Romeo does the hard work.

High fives to Romeo and Jake as they have plans to come for a visit in the nearish future. Yay!

Thumbs up to Vernon Wells as he homered for the 3rd straight game and 4th time this young season and helped to Blue Jays come back in the 9th inning to beat the Texas Rangers. The good guys are now 2-1 on the season and play in Baltimore this afternoon to open up a weekend set.

It's a chilly day in the city. A high of only 6 is being called for. Far from the t-shirt weather we've been enjoying lately. I'm calling for a do-over.

Big announcement from Toronto city hall today that Nathan Phillips Square will be getting a great big makeover. I can't wait to see what it looks like when they're done.

I think that's all I've got for now my friends.

Keep your fingers crossed for me today. I'll tell you why later.

Thursday Morning Musings, Ricky's On The Mound Edition

Good aft kiddies.

I hope you're well.

Big hig fives to E-ve and her study group. I'm sure they are working the flash cards and calculators as we speak. Keep it up guys.

Excited to see E-ve soon. Miss her.

Thumbs up to my PS2 as it decided to work yesterday. I have no idea why I tried it, but yay!

As I had some time on my hands yesterday afternoon I decided to rock a fantasy draft for franchise mode in MLB '09 The Show... After 53 rounds of drafting I let the cpu do the rest for me.

And today I made some trades to make the squad even better. We're gonna hit and we're gonna pitch at the front of the rotation... But catch and throw will be tough and we aren't very fast.

The real life Blue Jays are on the field right now in Texas. The are looking for a second win in a row against the Rangers. Ricky Romero is on the hill for the Jays and I have high hopes for him this summer.

Big ups to Vernon Wells and his 3 home runs and 6 rbi so far this season. Fans have been waiting for this type of production for years.

Thumbs down to the Maple Leafs for not beating the NY Rangers last night.

It's a grey, ugly day outside. The kind of day that kinda makes me wish I had a cat to cuddle with.

I got started yesterday on my guest post for Romeo's blog. My only concern is length. I may have to make it a 2 parter.

I succesfully used the last of the Easter leftovers yesterday. First the ham got diced and mixed in with onion and peppers and set atop some oven baked hashbrowns. And then for dinner the turkey and stuffing were combined with onion, corn, peas, carrots, green beans and pasta in a make shift caserole that worked pretty well. I'll be having more of it for dinner tonight.

The stupid bathroom sink is backed up again.

Go Habs Go.

With the Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkaglu injuries to the Raptors I'm starting to wonder if missing the play-offs and getting a higher draft pick isn't such a bad idea. Chris Bosh will likely leave for greener pastures and we will have cap space and a hot young rookie to revamp the roster for next year.

Wish I was going to the Blue Jays home opener on Monday.

Tally whoa!

Have a great Thursday friends. We're almost at the weekend.

Check the Twitter feed for exciting info as the day goes on.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Busy Day Edition

Good morning you crazy animals.

It's a rainy day in Pizzaville but that's okay. We need the rain for the flowers. Or so they say.

Big lovin' to my E-ve. She's pretty awesome and has been studying like crazy. Proud of her. And hope that I can see her soon to tell her to her pretty face.

Sad faces as both the Habs and Raptors lost their games last night. The Raptors I mostly expected as they were playing King James and his Cavs. But the Habs had a chance to make things a whole lot easier on the fans against the Isles. But noooo, that would mean we could breath easier. Maybe even relax and get ready for the play-offs. Jeez.

Now we have to cheer for the Leafs tonight as they take on the Rangers. If the Rangers lose, we're in... Go Leafs Go I guess.

High five to Romeo who is tweeting up a storm @romeoblogs. Add him and see what he has to say. Right now it's a whole lot of love for folks who edit as he works on the podcast.

Just passing the Rainforest Cafe. I lurve that place. Good memories.

I miss having a phone that vibrates.

Great episode of NCIS on Showcase last night. Falling in love with that show. But it's still no Chuck.

Blue Jays are back in action tonight versus the Rangers... I guess I'll be cheering for Toronto to beat the Rangers in New York and Arlington. If the blue birds win they'll be tied with the Red Sox and Yankees in the standings.

I think that today may be a good day to read some more Batman. I'm starting to come up with ideas for my guest post over at www.semi-dailyplanet.blogspot.com

More love to E-ve... Because I can.

Have a great hump day kids.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Chuck Vs The Blue Devils Edition

Good morning kids.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope it has found you well.

Big lovin' to E-ve as exam studying season has started and is now in full swing. I have a ton of faith in her smarts and have no doubt that she's going to rock next week. Also, thank you to her for being awesome when times get tough.

Disappointing end to the Blue Jays season opener yesterday as Jason Frasor allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 loss to the Rangers. Vernon Wells and Adam Lind both went deep for the Jays in the loss giving some hope for the offence moving forward.

Yesterday's lunch of hamburgers really hit the spot. But now we need more sandwich pickles. As E-ve remarked, you can never have too many.

Side note: I love looking at well painted graffiti.

Congratulations to the Duke Blue Devils and Butler Bulldogs after last night's NCAA title game. Duke won a close one, 61-59 and are once again champions. I'm not happy, but that's what happened.

What did make me happy last night was Chuck. That show is the best on TV. The only downside is that they are taking a 3 week break.

The Habs can clinch a play-off spot tonight with a win over the New York Islanders. It would be nice to get it done now and not leave anything to chance Saturday against the Leafs.

Huge news... Romeo is on Twitter. Find him and follow him @romeoblogs.

Next will have to be Jake and E-ve.

I think that's all for now friends.

As always, if this is the only day of the week you're here, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Bugs Bunny And Breakfast Edition

Hey there. Glad you could make it.

Here's hoping you all had a great weekend full of friends and family. And if you're still with them, awesome.

Big lovin' to E-ve while she makes her way to work. With a little luck there'll be some big tippers and smiling customers.

Last night was Red Sox vs Yankees in game 1 of the MLB season. The Red Sox pulled out a come from behind 9-7 win. They had planned on winning games with pitching and defence this year. They didn't last night. We'll see how it goes moving forward.

This afternoon is Blue Jays game 1 of 162. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05pm. I'm pretty excited. Can't help it. Every year I get excited for the start of the season. So here's my good luck wish to the Toronto Nine... Go get 'em boys.

Last night Romeo and Jake and I spent some time on the phone yapping and recording on Romeo's laptop for the podcast. The blog is open and ready for business at www.erraticthoughtpatterns.blogspot.com and Romeo's doing some editing and such later today/ tomorrow/ this week.

Currently watching Bugs Bunny on Teletoon Retro. Le awesome.

Also currently getting quite hungry. Cereal maybe, or ham and egg sandwich or raisin bread. Mmm.

Have a great day friends. Things to try and do today. I should get going on them.

Sunday Morning Musings, Up Before The Sun Edition

Good morning kids.  Happy Easter!

I hope that everyone is up and happy, or asleep and dreaming pretty.  I've been up since 5:47 with Mommy Z getting ready for the sunrise church service and breakfast.  It was awfully pretty out there... but dang was it early.  Thank goodness for coffee.

Big, huge, special, one of a kind lovin' to E-ve.  She really is the straw that stirs my drink.  She makes me happy when skies are grey.  I can't wait to be back in the city so that I can see her again.

Today is podcast day.  I just have to get home so that I can phone in my participation.  I don't think that anyone on the Go Train needs to hear us being ridiculous until it posts.  I'm still working on some ideas.  But I have a feeling that it will mostly be the three of us being us.

Today is also opening day of the Major League Baseball season.  It's a magical and wondrous day that comes but once a year.  And with the Red Sox and Yankees going at it in Boston things are sure to start with a bang.

Mommy Z is getting herself ready for church service #2 so I'm gonna wrap things up here.

I hope that no matter what you are celebrating at this time of year, you are able to do it with friends and family.

Thank you for stopping in.

Shalom.

Saturday Morning Musings, Float Your Fanny Edition

Good morning, good morning.

I've coming to you live from the back deck of Mommy Z's house way out in the country. If you Googled Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny you might have an idea where I'm at.

Big smiles and lovin' to E-ve who is back safely in Toronto. And thank you to her for coming to Daddy Z's Easter Dinner last night. She's awesome with my niece and nephew. And my dad and step-mom. Over all, she's pretty darn awesome.

I can hear the geese honking up by the pond. I hope the dog puts the run on them. They make one heck of a mess around here.

Today is Float Your Fanny day and family dinner number 2. Lots going on. And then tomorrow morning it's up crazy early to help Mommy Z get the sunrise church service set up on the beach.

The sun is shining and the weather is getting warmer. It feels like early summer right now. I saw some bass and goldfish swimming around the pond earlier. Made me want to get out a fishing rod.

Update: The dog is doing nothing about the geese.

Big win for the Habs last night. I didn't see the game, but everything that I've seen and read leads me to believe that Jaro Halak stole the show and the 2 points. The points put the Canadiens in 6th place with 4 games to play.

I love hanging out in the country.

Time to go and check the laundry kids. Have a great day. Go Habs Go.

Friday Morning Musings, I'm On A Train Edition

Good afternoon peoples.

Happy Good Friday to all of you. It's a good Friday for me with 20 degree temps and dinner coming up at Daddy Z's.

Big ups to E-ve (who is sitting beside me) for a great hang out and frozen pizza date last night. Coffee and visit time was good at Balzac's and the rest of the night continued to be awesome from there.

Currently we are on the Go Train headed east to Daddy Z's. We have no idea what we're having for dinner. But the company should be alright*.

The Ace of Cakes marathon on Food Nrtwork today is awesome. I love Duff and his crew and they make some of the most amazing looking cakes I've ever seen in my entire life. Le wow!

* as long as people aren't crazy.

Podcast is only 2 days away. @technicolor_cat is starting to come through with some ideas on Twitter and I've got some rattling around in my head as well. We'll see how it goes.

Also coming up, the Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny race is tomorrow. I'm telling you, look it up. It will be the funniest thing you see all day.

The Major League Baseball season starts Sunday. Awesome!

By my math there's a real legit chance at us hitting the 500 post mark this year. Today makes 361.

Just passed a Bingo Hall that we didn't know existed. E-ve's reaction: Niiiice.

It is crazy nice outside today. I kinda wish I had some sunglasses.

High fives to anyone at work today. I've been there.

I think that's all I've got for now kids. I'm getting distracted.

Have a great day!

Thursday Morning Musings, I Pity The April Fool Edition

Hey hey hey.

Happy Thursday kids. For most of us it's the start of a long weekend. And there ain't nothing wrong with that.

Big ups to E-ve who I get to see later. We've got a coffee date with a friend we don't get to see very much and then an us date to watch Bones and hang out and maybe even eat. I like the plan a lot.

Plus, the coffee place is called Balzac's, and that makes me giggle.

Dribble penetration.

Tally whoa!

I fired up another Long Form Musings post yesterday about the upcoming podcast experiment with Romeo and Jake. I don't think the link is on the side bar, so here's the url. www.thelongformmusings.blogspot.com or click view complete profile and go from there.

Thumbs down to the effort of the Habs in the 2nd and 3rd period last night. We lost 2-1 and both goalies were in the 3 stars. Not impressed.

Watching the replay of last night's Raptors game right now. Mostly because I know they won. Also because I don't want to watch CSI: NY on A&E.

It is April Fool's Day... I have not played any jokes.

Pizza craving coming on strong. Son of a gun.

Dinner at Daddy Z's tomorrow and then dinner at Mommy Z's on Satirday night. I'll be a well fed boy. And I will be taking tupperware so I can smuggle home left-overs. Don't judge me.

Also, like I said yesterday, it's Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny time this weekend. I've done it once before, and maybe some day I would do it again, but I'm not sure. But Google it and look at the YouTube clips and pictures and stories. It's a pretty cool tradition and a good time.

I hope I get candy this weekend.

I hope you get candy too.

Love to everyone that checks in from time to time, or every day. We're almost at 1700 hits. That's pretty cool.

High fives to @technicolor_cat after I called him out yesterday on Twitter. Good guy.

I am becoming a huge Sonny Weems fan. This dude plays hard, plays well, does the community stuff and brings enthusiasm to everything I see him do.

I think that's all I've got for now mes amis. But there's always a chance that there will be more later.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Balzacs And The Ganny Edition

Good morning kids.

Happy hump day, game day, rent day, Wednesday.

Big lovin' to my E-ve. Her headache won't go away so I'm gonna keep wishing. Thumbs up though as we have a plan for hang out date before going to Daddy Z's place for Easter dinner Friday evening. We also get to hang out with a friend from out of town as she makes her way through the city. There's a pretty cool coffee place in the village by my apartment that E-ve suggested we can take her to. Not a bad idea at all.

I also think my plan I set to spend Friday and Saturday night out at Mommy Z's place. The family time will be nice and the Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny race goes Saturday morning. I'll also do another dinner with fam and church with mom on Sunday morning. It'll be a busy weekend.

If you have no idea what the Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny is, Google it. You'll shake your head and laugh, but it's a great time and a good party. I went down the river once, it's crazy cold, but it'll cure your hangover pretty quickly.

I think today is an eggs and hashbrowns day. Wish I had cheese but I'll have to do without.

Yesterday I fired up a Long Form Musing entry about some of the junk that entertains me on TV. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I was able to reference Pacey twice in the piece. Go me!

Romeo confirmed my thoughts. We're going to try a test podcast this weekend with He and I and Jake. It'll be short and ridiculous no doubt. Right now I'm working on ideas and a name. I'll let you know what I come up with. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Habs game day tonight. We need a win. No ifs ands or buts about it. Carolina has had a pretty rough year, here's hoping it continues for them tonight.

I think that's all I've got for now kids.

Like yesterday though, there could be more to read later.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Easter's Coming Edition

Good morning one and all.

Welcome to Tuesday. Glad you could make it.

Big love to E-ve. Hoping that she is feeling much better today than she was last night. Also, big thanks to her for the great pancakes that we had for brunch yesterday. The added chocolate that we forgot was here was a fantastic touch.

And a second thank you for being my biggest fan and strongest supporter when times are good or tough.

The Raptors won last night, can you believe it? With only a few minutes left in the game I tweeted that they were close to breaking my heart again and then bam! they finished a game strong and got a much, much needed W.

Here's one of my favourite quotes from the last little while: "Kids who read comic books are reading."

I wonder if you can make pancakes with yogurt in the batter?

New background on my BB is the DC Trinity logo with Batman at the front. I like it.

I need to get back to Romeo, but I have a feeling that we're going to have a test run this Sunday on the podcast. Probably means we should try to come up with some ideas and names and such. Yikes. Please note that the podcast may not be as family friendly as this blog and Romeo's blog... But those warnings will be made when needed, I promise.

If you're not reading Romeo's blog, why not? www.semi-dailyplanet.blogspot.com

Still trying to figure out what my plans are for Easter weekend. Maybe spending some time with Mommy Z.

The Home Cooking Experiment hasn't been as strict as it once was, but I'm glad to report that I am eating much healthier than I used to. I am also cooking with more veggies and creativity which is good for everyone.

Did I mention that E-ve picked Indiana Jones for date night movies the other day? What's not awesome about that?

I totally got Final Jeopardy last night. Just to let you know.

I think that's all I've got for now kids. As always, check the Twitter feed and Facebook for links and other tidbits.

And if you're only here this one day a week... See you next Tuesday.

Sunday Morning Musings, Chuck And Batman And Ideas Edition

Good morning y'all.

I hope that Sunday has started well for everyone. Keep smiling.

My sleep patterns and habits are getting annoying and driving me crazy.

Big lovin' to E-ve. I can't wait for her to come over today. There's good food planned and perhaps a movie and some hanging out and good times all around.

Thumbs down to the dinks she served at work last night. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your parents should be ashamed as well. Next time you go out to eat dinner, be an adult about it or go to Wendy's. Thank you.

TFC had their first game of the season yesterday... and lost. Not the start that the die hards were hoping for. Here's hoping things look up as the year goes on. And here's hoping we get tickets to see a game.

I think I'm going to focus some time and attention to a possibly huge project. And to reading Batman. Good plan.

Plans are coming together for Easter weekend. Dinner at Daddy Z's is set for Friday and then we'll what happens after that.

I have eaten far too much cereal lately.

I just put Chuck on the TV. Thank you On Demand.

Big ups to Jake now that his Urinetown run has finished. All reviews were excellent and I wish I could have made the trip to see it. Proud of ya buddy.

There are a lot of exciting and fun ideas on the horizon. However, none of them get me paid...

I think that's all I've got for this morning friends.

Have a great day, keep having fun and working hard. And remember, you're loved.

Saturday Morning Musings, 'Melo Broke My Heart Edition

Hi kids.

Happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend, blah blah blah. But seriously, I hope you have a great day all around.

Big ups to E-ve who was up late as well last night. I hope her sleep has been restful. Last night was a slow night at the restaurant but with UFC and Hockey Night in Canada she could be busier tonight. Tons of love and good luck to you my E-ve.

If you're going anywhere to watch hockey and the fights, please remember not to be a jack-ass. Smiles and please and thank you will make everything go super smooth.

Also be prepared for the lights to dim as tonight does bring Earth Hour with it. I've said my piece about Earth Hour before, but I do see it as a good educational tool. So, at 8:30 EST tonight be ready to turn the lights off, unplug electronics that aren't in use, etc. and be a part of the solution.

So, Heath and I went to the Raptors game last night. And Carmelo Anthony broke my heart. Not in the 50 point blow out kinda way that we were prepared for, but with a last second buzzer beater to give the Nuggets a 1 point win. The Raptors fought hard and rebounded quite well but made little mistakes in the end that cost them the game. My thumbs are up to Sonny Weems and Andrea Bargnani and down to Jarrett Jack's decisions in the paint and the butter fingers of everyone in the last minute.

I'll also add that the spinach dip and nachos at Casey's were a great pre-game meal. And the beer wasn't bad either.

Romeo and I tossed around some quick "how to" info yesterday about podcasting. It looks like it'll be easy enough. I won't be assisting much from my BB other than being on speaker with them, but I think Romeo and Jake can figure it out.

I heart Google.

And Batman.

I think that's all for me today friends. You guys are the bestest.

Friday Morning Musings, Spacek On Booth, Messy But Legal Edition

Howdy kids.

I'm a sleepy boy but I'm gonna get something pounded out here.

Big lovin' to E-ve. We had a great date and hang-out on Wednesday that melted into Thursday. Dinner worked well, beer was a tasty treat, we made fun of each other just enough to make sure it was funny and even snuck a nap in there. Great times had by all.

Tally whoa!

Also, huge thank you to E-ve for supplying me with cold meds yesterday morning. They worked great and I was silly not to get more when I was out.

She even rocked some Veronica Mars with me, much to my delight.

Side note: high fives to @residentmoron for having great taste in TV shows and loving Veronica Mars as well.

Big time win for the Habs last night against the Panthers. It was much needed as the games remaining tick down and the race for the play-offs heats up.

Scary moment in the game as Jaro Spacek hit Florida's David Booth hard as he crossed the blue line. Booth had his head down and met Spacek's shoulder in a violent, physical, big league body check. However, whereas most hits in the NHL end with the player getting up and skating away, this one didn't. David Booth lay on the ice before being helped to the dressing room. The probable reason is that Booth suffered a severe concussion earlier this season after a late, blind side head shot delivered by Mike Richards of the Flyers. In fact, that hit was one of the main reasons that the new blind side/ back pressure, head shot rule has been rushed into the NHL rule book. Once anyone has suffered a concussion it becomes much easier for them to suffer subsequent concussions and that may have been the case with David Booth last night. He was taken to a Montreal hospital for tests and surveillance but was said to be coherent and responsive. All of my best wishes go out to David Booth and his family as he recovers from last night's hit.

And a note to anyone on a witch hunt for someone to punish under the new rule, Jaro Spacek will not be the first to be suspended. He did not break that rule. It was a good, strong, clean hockey check that had an unfortunate outcome. That is all.

Happy Friday to all of you by the way. How could I forget.

And happy Friday especially to Heath and I as we have tickets to see the Raptors play (get slaughtered by) the Nuggets. We're hoping for either a big Raptors win, which is much needed, or a 50 point night from Carmelo Anthony.

I've done a whole pile of writing in the last few days. It's felt good. I'm enjoying it. And there's some good stuff coming from it I think.

If you caught my link to Romeo's blog the other day you saw his idea for a podcast with Jake and I. It's an interesting idea that I'm sure comes from the laughs Romeo gets from Kevin Smith's SModcast and if it comes to pass I promise to warn you about language and subject matter.

I can feel my stomach grumbling which means I should either get some cereal or a granola bar I suppose.

For those of you in Toronto be prepared for lots of news moving forward with regards to the TTC's decision to put up safety barriers at subway stations. There were a reported 18 suicide attempts on subway platforms last year and the support for the barriers has been overwhelming, but funding still needs to be found.

I think that's all for today friends. I hope that today is good, tonight is great and the weekend in better.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Alive And Well Edition

Hey there.

I'm alive.

It's been a wild few days, sorry about the being away.

Huge ups to E-ve who is the awesome. Her sick isn't awesome, but she'll push through it. It's what she does. I loves her, and I can't wait to see her soon.

Currently watching V Mars DVDs and reading Batman comic books that Jake sent back from Ottawa.

I like the story in Batman Family so far. And I'm only 1 issue in.

I'm also digging on V Mars. I've seen these episodes 3 times each, at least, and they still keep me coming back.

The grocery list in the fridge is growing. And beside it is the list of things that I'd like to get for me. Non-food items. Laptop, coffee table, etc.

Baseball season is fast approaching and I'm an excited boy. The Blue Jays have named Shaun Marcum as their opening day starter. I know he's not Roy Halladay, but I like him.

I've eaten a lot of cereal over the last week. Harvest Crunch, empty. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, empty. Nesquik that I forgot I had, empty.

Time to wrap it up I think. V Mars is about to get into some heavy stuff.

Have a great day kids. Treat each other well.

Sunday Morning Musings, Who Cares About The Time Edition

Hey there world.

Happy Sunday. I hope it’s a good one so far.

Big ups to E-ve who made it home safely. Made me very happy to see her and have a hang out date. She was also very gracious in victory last night after the Leafs beat the Habs in a shootout. We had a deal going into the game and both of us did a very good job of not breaking the deal and gloating at any point during the contest.

E-ve also made the best decision of the night when we called for chicken wing delivery for dinner. Excellent choice, and the garlic bread on the side was a great touch.

Also, feel better soon.  xo.
Sad faces as my bracket isn’t looking so great in the NCAA tournament. I’m still doing alright compared to everyone else that made picks, but I’ve been taking a beating as schools have been rocking upset wins at an alarming rate.

I realized (thanks to @technicolor_cat) that I’ve been missing out on sports card collecting for way too long. It took only 1 tweet to make me notice this fact. McDonalds hockey cards at the start of every winter just aren’t cutting it.

Big thank yous to Jake for sending Batman comic books back with E-ve after her trip. I haven’t cracked any covers yet, but I’m tres excited to get started on the 8 issue run of Batman and Family.

It’s not a warm, sunny day in Toronto so far. We were at 0 this morning which meant that I had to wear a real coat when I left for work. E-ve supplied me with my first coffee of the day though, so I started to warm up pretty quickly. Thank you sweetheart.

I’d like to say thank you to everyone that stops by to check out what I have to ramble about here. You guys are pretty rad.

Thumbs down to my BB which has decided that it doesn’t want to vibrate any longer. That’s not awesome at all. However, I am only 3 months-ish away from new customer pricing on a new one. So that ain’t too bad.

Chuck is on tomorrow. Yay!

I have still only won 2 free coffees from Tim Hortons in this year’s Roll up the Rim contest. Boo.

I’m pulling for Andy Rautins and Syracuse right now against the Gonzaga in the NCAA tourney. I think that E-ve is cheering against me because she loves Gonzaga, but I have a feeling that I’m going to win.

Happy 28th birthday to Aaron Hill of the Toronto Blue Jays.

I think that’s all for now my friends. I hope that you all have a great afternoon.

Saturday Morning Musings, Quick Fire Habs Over Leafs Edition

Good morning kids.

It's Saturday morning so I'm gonna whip out a quick fire edition before I figure out what to do before E-ve gets home.

As I just tweeted, E-ve and Romeo are out to lunch before she hops the bus to come home. Here's hoping I get some left-overs.

Need more Batman.

Trying to decide between yogurt and Harvest Crunch for breakfast or some of the chicken nuggets and shrimp and jalapeno poppers that I made for my March Madness Friday.

I still love watching Saturday morning TV.

The Raptors were awful last night. I'm starting to think we have a better chance at signing Amare Stoudemire this summer than keeping Chris Bosh. And I think I'm okay with that.

Go Habs Go!

Tally whoa!

I miss my mommy a wee bit.

I love www.espn.com for my sports news.

I have a Kellie Pickler song stuck in my head.

E-ve and I still need to see the Princess and the Frog.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid the movie doesn't have me sold. Not one I need to go and see.

I think that's all the randomness I have in me right now.

Have a great day and night.

Friday Morning Musings, Day 11 Edition

Hey there kids!

Happy freakin' Friday.

Big lovin' to E-ve who had a busy night yesterday. Seeing Urinetown on openning night, hitting a karaoke bar with Romeo hosting and then stopping in at our fav gay bar will make anyone sleepy. Which is why I'm assuming she's not yet replied to my good morning sms. Big X's and O's to you my E-ve.

High fives to Jake after openning night. I'm sure that tonight will be great too. And every show that follows.

March Madness has been especially mad so far. Experts and fans alike are saying that yesterday may have been the best 1st day of the tournament ever. If you've never heard of a March Madness Widow I suggest you google it. Might save your relationship.

Today is my first day off since a week ago Monday. I slept in. It was awesome. And now I'm lounging with the NCAA's on TV. Heck yes.

Baseball season just keeps getting closer. And that makes me a happy and excited boy. I'm not sure what my first game at the ballpark will be this year, but I'm hoping it's in April.

Also, Heath and I have a date to hit the Raptors game next Friday. That excites me.

It looks like the sun is shining through my blinds. Maybe I'll go out later to run some errands and see how it is for reals.

Spring is just around the corner and then comes summer and for Canadians that's a wonderful thing. Because we're so used to cold and harsh winters (which admittedly we didn't have this year) we usually go a little crazy in the summer. You'll see people that BBQ every day, wear flip flops in the rain, rock their tan lines and sunburns and just enjoy the heck out of it. Bring it on I say.

Big ups to The Score Television Network for their NCAA coverage. Split screens and fewer commercials and 13ish hours a day is hardcore.

It feels like forever since the Habs played. But tomorrow night they get a pretty hot Maple Leafs team in what should be a pretty good game.

Didn't eat pizza last night. Maybe today. Maybe not. Maybe salad. Maybe not.

Time to check out for now mes amis. There's just too much going on to concentrate.

Have a groovy Friday and a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Musings, Let The Madness Begin Edition

Hola amigos.

I hope that you are all ready for the Madness.

Super lovin’ to my E-ve. Even when she’s away she’s hilarious via text. And it sounds like St. Patrick’s Day was a success for her and the girls.

I have to make my cbc.ca hockey pool picks today since I won’t be at the computer over the next couple of days. I have no hunches at this point, but I have to be better than I have been this week. That’s for sure.

The sun is shining again, it’s awesome. They say not to get too used to it because clouds and rain will come sooner or later. But for now, I say enjoy it as best you can.

I mentioned the Madness because BYU and Florida just tipped off in the first game of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. My picks are in and my fingers are crossed and I have a different winner picked than President Obama.

I can’t believe that the Raptors won last night. I turned the game off after the 3rd quarter and was so upset about their effort that I actually Tweeted that fact. And then Chris Bosh hit a jumper with 2.1 seconds left on the clock and the 5 game losing streak ended. Thank goodness.

I could really go for a big lottery win. I should buy a ticket.

Today is day 10 of 10. So if I can make it to 7pm I’ll have completed the mission. Go team.

Msn.ca has a Top 30 Rocker Babes list on their entertainment page today. I just popped it up, haven’t looked at it. Discuss amongst yourselves and argue as needed.

I’m tempted to order pizza and chicken wings tonight and watch basketball until I pass out and then as soon as I wake up again tomorrow. I think my body can handle that. But can my spirit?

Huge love and high fives to Jake as the curtain goes up tonight on Urinetown. If you’re in the Ottawa area this weekend or next try to check it out $12 for students, $15 for the rest of us. Google the name.

And a high five to Romeo for his How I Lost My Socks At Walmart blog. I linked it. I like it.

I think that’s all for now. There’s a lot to do today.

Have a great one!

Wednesday Morning Musings, St. Patrick's Over The Hump Edition

Good day sirs and madams.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re Irish, celebrate. If you’re not, pretend that you are and celebrate.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she is already on the road and on her way for her mini-vacay. I kinda sorta miss her already. Lame I know.

Huge win for the Habs last night over the Rangers. It puts les Canadiens on a 6 game winning streak at the best time of year for a streak. We’re starting to see some separation from the bottom of the play-off ladder and might even be able to climb a little bit. Awesome.

The sun is shining again in the city today and they say that we can expect a high of 17 degrees. That’s pretty friggin’ hot since it’s technically still winter. Crazy.

I just wiki’d DC animated movies and found that the next planned flick is Batman: Under the Red Hood. I can handle that. With a cast that IMDB.com reports will include Neil Patrick Harris, Jensen Ackles, Jason Isaacs and Bruce Greenwood it could be very good. I’m excited. IMDB also reports a July 27th release this year. Yay!

A quick request, if you’re drinking tonight please don’t drive. And if you’re in a big city, please be careful when you’re walking in and around traffic. The last thing anybody wants to worry about is an accident in the middle of a happy time. Thank you.

I won a coffee! That’s right. I have now won 2 coffees from Tim Hortons in the Roll up the Rim contest.

With Friday and Saturday off this week and not a whole lot of money to play with I think I will sit myself down and drown in NCAA basketball. Heck yes!

The parking cops are out in full force now that the weather is better. Be careful friends. Nobody needs a ticket for not paying attention.

Mmm shawarma.

It’s day 9 of 10. And it’s a 10 hour day. So, if you love me, pray for my sanity and ability to stay awake.

I think that’s it today friends. Happy hump day. Happy St. Pat’s.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Go Habs Go Edition

Hello world.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope you enjoy it. For a few minutes this morning I thought that it was Wednesday, but no such luck.

Tuesday means day 8, which means only 2 more to go before 2 whole days off.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she gets a bunch of stuff done before she hops the bus tomorrow. It’s gonna be a great trip for her. I’m excited on her behalf and wish that I was going as well. I’ll probably text a bunch even though I know it will get her made fun of. I can’t help it.

It’s game day, and that means there will be a lot of Go Habs Go in my life today. I know that Rangers fans are hungry for wins and would love some good results down the stretch, but this is a game that the Canadiens have to win. And I will be cheering as hard as I can to make that happen.

I am jazzed for baseball season. I can’t help it. The sun is out, the temperatures are climbing and I want to play catch.

I love the feeling of my fingers on the keyboard.

Chuck was pretty good last night. There is a ton going on. I can’t believe it really. I have no idea where it’s going to go from here, but the writers have given themselves a chance to really put a good story out there. I hope that they don’t disappoint. I also saw the first tweet calling for NBC to order season 4. After last year’s Save Chuck campaign I am trying to imagine what fans could do this time.

I think that HIMYM was a re-run. I flipped to it for a second but I wasn’t really into it.

I spilled coffee on my left leg this morning. Not a great way to start the work day. But I’m fine and nobody saw it. If I didn’t write it here, it would have been a secret to my grave.

Both Yahoo.ca and Msn.ca have been disappointing sources for interesting or catchy news lately. Way too much celebrity gossip and love and sex stuff. Come on folks. Get it together.

Darts just came on the TV. So it’s time for me to wrap this up and change the channel.

As always, if this is the only day of the week that you stop by, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, Guess Who's Coming To Town Edition

Hey there friends.

Happy Monday. Hope you’re all rocking it.

Big loving to E-ve who is getting ready for a trip. I’m excited for her even though I’ll miss her while she’s away.

Excellent Sunday dinner last night. Taquitos and Chicken Fingers. How can a bachelor ask for any better than that? Quick, easy and pretty tasty. Good times.

I am loving the length and fullness of my beard right now.

Blue Jays vs Tigers on the TV at work right now. Awesome!

Had some sleep in time today since I was alone in the store for a while yesterday. Was nice.

Started reading for DC Trinity stuff that I almost forgot I had while I was on the street car and subway today. I bought the comics so I could use the covers as art. I may as well read them before I put them on the wall.

There are a lot of errors made in spring training baseball. I think I could play.

It’s Chuck night. I’m excited. I just hope I can stay awake long enough to watch it.

Thumbs down to the San Jose Sharks. Eff you guys. Losing and not scoring lots of goals for me is unacceptable.

The weather is supposed to be nice over the next few days. That’ll mean less sweaters for me, I like that prospect.

Lady Gaga has announced her North American tour dates. There are 4 Canadian dates set, so if you want to see Gaga and are in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto or Montreal you will have your chance.

I answer a lot of questions every day. It’s a pain in the arse.

I think it’s time for me to hang it up for today.

Have a great rest of the day.

Sunday Morning Musings, All Saints And Mother's Day Edition

Good Sunday dear friends.

Big thanks and lovin’ to E-ve for what was a great date night. We met in the rain, she had coffee in her hands and the rest, as they say, is history. We rocked some chicken skewers and jalapeno poppers and watched a double feature on the DVD player. Boondock Saints and Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day. There was a lot of shootin’ and a lot of killin’ and a lot of entertainment. Well done to everyone involved.

It wasn’t fun leaving to come to work this morning. Least favourite part of the whole thing.

Average night had in the hockey pool yesterday. Picked up 10 points. Which isn’t bad I guess. But I really need the San Jose Sharks and Canucks to keep filling the net this week. There are 7 games left to play between the 2 of them and I have 7 players committed to those 2 squads.

I hope that you’ve all remembered to turn your clocks ahead. I don’t want you missing important lunch dates and such.

Big ups to all the mothers in Ireland as it’s Mother’s Day today.

The first hockey game of the day starts in a few minutes. And I’m feeling like I’d like to have a day of writing and watching hockey, not serving customers. Don’t judge me.

Happy Birthday to super-blogger Kelly Diels. I won’t tell you her age because I don’t know and it’s none of my business.

Jesse McCartney is far more talented than he is given credit for.

Jake is also a talented dude and hopes are that the play is coming together as curtain gets closer.

Romeo has some talent, can’t deny that… but he needs to wear pants.

And Heath has been rocking his camera with talent something fierce lately. And I like it.

Have a great day kids. You all deserve it.

Just remember that everyone else deserves it too, so play nice.

Saturday Morning Musings, Welcome @H_S_S_E Edition

Hey there.

Happy Saturday. I’m excited. If you don’t know why, you haven’t been paying attention.

Big lovin’ to E-ve as she has a day off to relax and chill out and do laundry or whatever else she busies herself with before I annoy the crap out of her later. I have no idea what our official plans are, mostly because I have no good ideas. I’m trying to leave it in her very capable hands.

It’s a long shift, but for some reason I’m feeling alright about it. I have some things that I want to try to accomplish and I read some Batman on the subway. Now I have a hot coffee and my fingers feel good on the keyboard. Look out world, I’m coming for ya.

Last night I watched Numbers before I called it a night. I’ve been watching the show for quite some time and have season 1 on DVD at the apartment. But once in a while when I’m watching it I can’t help but think about how odd it is to see the Quiz Master as an FBI agent.

We’re on an old school R&B kick in the store right now that was spurred on by Lil’ Wayne… because he drives us crazy.

If you have time today turn back the clock and hit youtube for 112 and Next and Jagged Edge and love it up. And if you’re a Canadian kid it’s your patriotic duty to listen to Money Jane.

And then tonight before you go to bed turn the clock back ahead again as we’re getting to daylight savings time again.

Mark May 8th on your calendars kiddies. That’s the night that Betty White has been confirmed to host Saturday Night Live. She is hilarious. She is a legend. She is old. I have no idea how this is going to play out, but a big part of me wants to check it out.

Pat Quinn is back in Toronto tonight as the bad guy as the Oilers try to knock off the Maple Leafs. It’s team #29 vs. team #30 at the ACC. Be ready to take sides.

Welcome Heterosexuals for Same Sex Equality to Twitter. If you believe that all people deserve the rights that straight people enjoy, you should check them out. I’m not preaching, just saying.  www.twitter.com/H_S_S_E

Good luck to Jake as he gets ready for his March Break bachelorhood. I hope that everything goes swimmingly.  And I hope that Romeo keeps his pants on.

The rain isn’t falling right now in Toronto, so I’m gonna go step outside.

Have a great day lovelies.

Friday Morning Musings, Up To E-ve, Down To Duke Edition

Hola amigos.

It’s Friday. Enjoy it.

I just turned NCAA basketball on the TV here at work. I’m getting into it. I must have been wrong yesterday, underestimated myself.

Big lovin’ to E-ve today while she rocks the lunch shift. Be nice and smile big and I promise she’ll return the favour.

Also, getting more excited every day as we get closer to a Saturday date. Yay!

Big win for the Maple Leafs last night in overtime. People are saying that the game winner was Phil Kessel’s biggest goal in a Leaf uniform. If it is, he hasn’t done much.

Bigger win for the Habs last night against the Oilers in the shootout. It shouldn’t have gone that far, Halak was shaky, the killer instinct wasn’t there when it needed to be, but 2 points go up on the board and they are sorely needed at this point in the season.

Congrats to Vanman444 in the CBC.ca fantasy hockey pool. Dude is leading the way this week with 70 points so far and has 4 Habs on the roster. I haven’t been that brave all season.

Little Big Town is putting a push on to have their new single “Little White Church” become #1 on iTunes. I haven’t heard it yet, but I love these guys. If you have a chance I say check it out and then tell me what you think.

I’m thinking that I should stop by the myspace today and see how things are going. Maybe it’s not dead after all.

Neither msn.ca or yahoo.ca are inspiring me to look at their links and stories today. Thumbs down to them.

As I said on Twitter today, Thumbs up to Roberto Luongo for carrying the Paralympic torch in his return to Vancouver with the Canucks. That’s a classy move from a dude that I’m sure has a lot going on.

The rain started this morning but has stopped, for now. I have my raincoat at the ready.

High fives to everyone today, I’m just handing them out. You’re welcome.

I hate Duke University basketball and I don’t care who knows it.

I also love my E-ve more than I hate Duke University basketball. And that’s a lot.

I think that’s all for this work week kiddies. Check the Twitter and maybe even the myspace for something new later.

Have a good one.

Thursday Morning Musings, Mid Afternoon Edition

Good day to you folks.

Here’s hoping that Thursday is going well.

Big ups to E-ve after a long lunch shift. Half price wings are a blessing and a curse depending on which side of the notepad you’re on.

Wag of the finger to the table that didn’t offer to share their cheesecake. How can you not share cheesecake? You know that everyone loves cheesecake. It’s a documented fact, I think.

The week is drawing to a close, and Saturday can’t come soon enough. I’m hoping that plans to catch a movie and such and have some much needed E-ve and Wally time work out as much as we hope.

Maybe we’ll see Alice and my mind will be blown. That’s what it’s supposed to do right?

Thumbs down to the Raptors who were terrible in the 3rd quarter last night in Sacramento. I’m still shaking my head.

The sun is shining, but they say the rain is on the way. I packed my little rain coat just in case.

Infinite Crisis confuses me, and I forgot that before I picked it back up. But I can’t put it back down again.

Everybody loves Zombies. Figure that one out.

The Mayfair Theatre is showing Clerks and Clerks II on March 22. If you have a chance I say go check it out. Should be a really good night.

March Madness will start soon. But I’m finding it hard to get excited since my Tar Heels won’t be involved. I’m sure that I could get into it anyway. But I don’t know who I’ll be cheering for. Probably the Syracuse Orange I guess.

I did pretty good at Jeopardy last night and even better at Wheel of Fortune. But the girl who won on Wheel was amazing on the final puzzle. I didn’t even have time to think before she blurted out Long Haul and took home $30,000 on top of the $12,000ish that she’d already won. Quite impressive.

I think that’s all for this afternoon friends. Have a great evening and remember that tomorrow is Friday. Hopefully that makes some of you smile.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Kobe Did It, I'm Sorry Edition

Good morning mes amis.

I hope that you are all smiling. I know it’s only Wednesday, but that’s not a bad thing. Look at the bright side, it’s not Tuesday.

Big loving to E-ve, she agreed with my statement about her oozing awesome. It wasn’t literal by the way. I love her, but that would be weird and a little gross.

Big ups to her also for coming up with some great ideas for upcoming hang out dates and menu ideas and such. She’s a smart one. I’m a lucky dude. She will probably agree with that too.

I would like to take this time to apologize to Toronto Raptors fans. Yesterday I said that I would take Kobe if it came down to one last game winning shot. And last night he proved me right. With 1.9 seconds left Bean/ Mamba/ Kobe rose up and hit a jumper with 2 dudes in his eye and the Lakers won 109-107. The only thing I can say is wow. And the only thing I can hope is that the Raps use their strong performance as motivation moving forward on the road trip.

I still haven’t won anything in Roll up the Rim.

Do a friend a solid and check out http://www.thereviewsarein.wordpress.com/ if you have a chance. That Joshua guy is pretty alright.

The CIBC is reporting that the Loonie could reach parity with the American dollar this summer. Be ready for complaints that things are still more expensive north of the border.

The weather is nice again today, but they say that the rain is coming. I suppose that I should be ready for it, it’s that time of year. But I’m not excited. Rain is nice to look at and listen to, but I don’t want to be out in it.

Day 2 today… only 8 more to go.

Big win for the Habs last night against the Lightning. As I’ve said, every game is huge from now til the end of the season.

I love music. Sometimes I forget that, but I love what a good song can do and where it can take you.

I think that’s about it for today kiddies. I hope that you all have a good hump day.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Kobe Or LeBron Edition

Howdy y’all.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Big lovin’ to E-ve. She is all kinds of awesome. It oozes from her being.

Tried to do a mock fantasy baseball draft this morning on Yahoo.ca. We got a little too busy for me to keep up with my turn or the auction. I’m not sure whether I’ll play in a league this year or not. But if I do I should probably start doing my research.

Curling is on the TV here at the store. Just because the Olympics are over doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy some rocks and ice.

I’m getting excited for the Iron Man 2 release. And E-ve telling me that she wants to see it is a big reason. There is little better than a girl that wants to see a comic book movie. Win!

The news is that Jaro Halak will start in goal tonight for the Habs. With the Lightning scoring goals a pretty good pace I hope he can stand tall. We need all the wins we can get in our last 15 games.

Good luck to the Good Lovelies who have been nominated for Root & Traditional Album of the Year: Group. And since I don’t know anything about any of the nominees I’m thinking that the girls have a pretty good shot at winning. And that would be pretty cool.

Scientists are saying that it’s just coincidence that there have been so many big earthquakes around the world lately. This isn’t a preview of 2012 or anything.

The Raptors are in LA tonight to play the Lakers. It’s a game that would be absolutely amazing to win. But I’m not holding my breath. I don’t recommend that you hold yours either.

If I’m building an NBA team from scratch I’ll take LeBron James with my first overall pick. But if I need 1 shot to win a big game, give me Kobe Bryant. That’s just the way it is.

I looked at a pretty cool bike yesterday. The frame was a weird green, but it was still cool. 27 speeds, disk brakes and street tires. But $970 is a pretty heavy price tag for me.

I’ll stick to the street car.

Seal meat is going to be added to the menu at the Parliamentary restaurant. Let the controversy begin.

I think that’s all for today my friends. Remember to tell the ones that you love how great they are. They deserve it.

And as always, if you’re only here this one day of the week, see you next Tuesday.

Sunday Morning Musings, I Forgot How To Work Edition

Good day friendlies.

I hope that you’re all enjoying the remarkable weather today.

E-ve and I had a great date at home yesterday with Inglorious Basterds and some chicken nuggets and jalapeno poppers and garlic bread. It was a great date after too many days in a row without one.

Speaking of too many days in a row… I have an unexpected day off tomorrow and then start 10 days in a row at the store. Yikes.

Tonight is Oscar night, so make sure that you have your fancy clothes and popcorn ready. It’ll be a long show, but hopefully there will be some funny to keep it moving along. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will either sink or swim, like all the other hosts before them. I’m hoping that they swim.

I’ve already picked up 2 points in the hockey pool this afternoon. And that’s a good thing since I forgot to update my line-up and have the same guys as last week. And I only got 1 point last night. It sucks.

I’ve been all over the Batman lately, re-reading things from the shelf since E-ve picked up my birthday present. This morning I dove back into Hush and am glad I did. It’s a good story. I like it. Two thumbs up.

The Raptors are playing on the HD right now in the store. I’m hoping for a win over the 76ers. It’s badly needed. Momentum down the stretch is a must, especially with a west coast road trip coming up.

I saw something on the ticker this morning that made me feel very proud to be Canadian. Tim Horton’s is planning on opening 900 new outlets. That’s a lot of new coffee shops. And, I’m no expert, but it seems to me that it’s pretty good news for the economy. That’s a bunch of every day jobs, a bunch of construction contracts and a bunch of hot coffee. Everybody wins.

Side note: I still haven’t won with Roll up the Rim.

Side note II: I have enjoyed 2 free coffees from McDonalds.

Planning on going snacky for lunch today with some granola bars and crackers and stuff. I think it’s a good plan, and then I’ll eat real food for dinner.

I like being dressed in a shirt and tie and all, but wearing jeans was pretty awesome for 3 days.

I think that’s all for today y’all. I hope that you have a great rest of Sunday.

Tally whoa!
