Mid-Evening Musings, Day Off Edition

Allo allo, common ca va?

We're coming to you live today with a mid-evening version of the Muse. We're also coming live from a special location, deep in the heart of the Scarborough Town Centre. Don't be scared friends, I'm trying not to be.

You may ask yourself why I'm here and why I haven't written already today. And I may answer.

E-ve is getting her hair did at the salon, appt was made and we got here thanks to a bus, a subway and the light rail transit system. Thank you TTC.

So far, since she's gone in I've been in the Coles bookstore (I didn't even know that there still were Coles bookstores) as well as the Bulk Barn and the Everything For A Dollar Store.

I love that $3.39 got me a 1L bottle of Coke Zero, 10 stick pens (4 blue, 6 black) and a little notebook.

Earlier this afternoon the hometown Blue Jays took on the Angels in the rubber match of their 3 game set. The boys in blue gave it their best shot and very nearly got the win after coming back from a 5-1 deficit. We ended up losing 6-5 after the Halos pushed across a run in the top of the 9th. Big ups to Adam Lind who played a pretty good Left Field and went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles and 2 singles on the afternoon. Thumbs down however to Alex Rios who played Centre Field giving Vernon Wells a day off. Rios earned a "golden sombraro" +1 today (A golden Sombraro is 4 strike-outs, he had 5) I have no idea if there's even a name for striking out 5 times in a game. But both E-ve and another friend have called for his head since the game ended. But, to paraphrase Batman, I believe in Alex Rios.

Here's hoping that Jake's Sunday is going as smoothly as my Saturday. Keep yer chin up brother man.

Watched "Hancock" last night on TMN on Demand for the first time. It was a pretty good movie really. There was more story than I was anticipating and the trio of Will Smith, Jason Bateman and the lovely Charlize Theron did a great job of carrying the flick.

I just realised that I am excited enough about Green Lantern: First Flight that I needed to check the release date. We are approx 7 weeks away as the animated feature hits shelves on July 28. Yay!

Pretty huge night in the sporting world as the Penguins try to win another game at home and even the NHL Finals against the Red Wings. Puck drops just after 8pm Eastern time.

About an hour later and many miles away in LA, the Lakers and Magic tip-off in game 1 of the NBA Finals. It's the Black Mamba (Kobe Bryant) vs. Superman (Dwight Howard) and as much as I love comic books and the lore, Kobe may get to change his nickname to Doomsday if the Lakers roll like most people I've talked to think they will.

I think that's it for today friends. I hope that y'all have a great rest of the day and we'll probably talk at you tomorrow.

Like wham!
