Happy Saturday! That's right, I said Saturday.
Because I'm a good dude I took today off and will be going in to work on the real Saturday. And because I'm that good dude and I'm not working today I am laying in bed watching SportsCentre and writing on the BB.
In exciting news, Heath just called and we're gonna get together downtown. E-ve is gonna meet us after her lunch shift and we're all going to be able to hang out. There will be business to attend to and I'm confident that we can get something figured out.
Side note: I wanted to say hammered out, but it's not like we're drawing up a contract or running the C.U.P.E. negotiations here in Toronto.
They're calling for rain later today so I'm going to bring my rain jacket with me. Momma didn't raise no fool.
The Blue Jays are hoping that it doesn't rain in Texas though. It would be nice if they were able to play the last game of their road trip. A third win in a row on the road would be a nice way to end the series and come back home on a high note.
Ricky Romero will toe the rubber for the good guys as he continues to try and regain his form after his strained oblique muscle earlier this season. Rumour is that Ricky pulled the muscle originally with a violent sneeze before a start. Ouch.
I wanted the Yankees to win last night vs. the Red Sox. But even though I had to watch Boston beat them again, I at least got to watch Derek Jeter strike out in the ninth inning. I hate Derek Jeter.
Is it just me, or did General Motors do a really good job with their most recent commercial. The whole, "there was a time when 8 brands made sense" and then transitioning into a more svelte big 4... I've always been a GM guy and a union guy, so I may be biased. But I think they've done a good job of trying to say "We know we weren't super smart about things in the past. But we're not giving up, we're just gonna do it right this time."
The W.H.O. is right now declaring the H1N1 virus a pandemic. The news conference is being shown on CP24 live. It is the first flu pandemic declared in more than 40 years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been touched by this strain of influenza.
I am excited about sharing an apt with Heath because then I can read his comics. Also, I have one of his movies I need to return anyway.
That's all for me here today folks. Remember to tip your server.
Like wham!
