Sunday Morning Musings, Happy Family Edition

Good Sunday morning people.

I hope that everyone is enjoying their day so far. Whether it be at work or in the garden or tucked in bed recovering from last night. Smile and be thankful for another day.

Let me start with something adorable. I don’t have a picture because I didn’t want to be “that guy” but I’ll do my best to paint it with my words. Yesterday as I stood on the sidewalk enjoying a quick break from working I saw a family walking toward me. There was a tall, white, built, ear ringed, tattooed guy wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He was a pretty good looking guy as far as I know. And on his left there was a tall, white, built, ear ringed, tattooed guy wearing jeans and almost a matching t-shirt. Now, this on it’s own really isn’t anything special, people walk down the street all the time and many of them are tattooed and wearing ear rings. However, these two guys had something that not every pair or couple has, a beautiful little light skinned African girl holding their hands. There was a big smile on all three of their faces and it made me smile too.

I love this city, I love this country and I love the fact that everyone is permitted to walk down the street as a happy family no matter what you may believe in.

The Blue Jays laid an egg again yesterday. And for this one loss I am willing to share the blame. A co-worker and I were watching the ESPN Game Cast on the pc monitor since we were too cautious to put the game on the crystal clear hi-def TV. That isn’t why I’m taking the blame though. While we were watching the self updating game feed (if you’re a sports fan and don’t want to pay for something like MLB.tv check out the ESPN Game Cast, it’s pretty slick) I commented on how well Canadian Scott Richmond was pitching. At the time the good guys were up 2-0 and the 5th inning was just starting with the Royals at the plate. I should have known better. Scott Richmond is a capable starting pitcher in the Major Leagues, but Roy Halladay he is not. Not 5 minutes after I praised the tall hurler things started to unravel. First was a 2 run homer by the bad guys and soon after a 3 run triple to make the game 5-2. Unfortunately, that’s how quickly a game can change. 4 good innings can be undone by one bad one. We went on to lose and did not gain any ground on the Yankees.

Side note: The only bright spot in the game was Raul “Chubby” Chavez hitting his first round tripper of the season into the Blue Jays left field bullpen. I fired Romeo a message as soon as he hit it to let him know of the achievement.

Side note II: A long time ago I played on a baseball team named the Royals, we wore the grey and royal blue uniforms with the yellow trim. It did nothing to make me cheer for the Kansas City Royals.

If you see a pretty girl in a blue dress with pearls today walking with her mom make sure you wave. It just might be E-ve.

My prediction of Penguins in 6 was thrown out the window last night as the Red Wings hammered the Pens 5-0 to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the series. Game 6 will be played back in Pittsburgh, and I’m tempted to say that Sid and the gang can win it and send us to a game 7. But, if you’ve been following my sports this year, you may want to make your own prediction.

Countdown clock now reads 17 days… for those of you on this clock, be ready.

Side note: It's Sunday, call your mother and tell her that you love her.

I’m feeling long winded today so I think that I’ll continue over at www.myspace.com/wallyzblogger I hope that you can check us out.

Have a great day everyone.

Like wham!
