Welcome to your Tuesday readers.
Last night was of course Monday, and that meant my favourite TV night of the week. House was decent.
I really like the way that they are working in the stories of Wilson and Cuddy this season. Good times for sure.
Heroes was next and it’s drama, drama, drama as to be expected. Claire took a job at the comic book store which is fantastic as far as I’m concerned. There’s a theory that any girl automatically becomes more attractive when she walks into a comic book shop. My favourite part may have been when the manager told her that she had the job because ever since she walked in the door every guy had been staring at her, she’d sell comics. It’s also geeky pleasure that she is being given homework to learn more about the ways of the comic book kid.
Note: during Heroes NBC showed a trailer for the new Star Trek movie. Looks like it could be good for the Star Trek crowd and maybe even worth watching for the rest of us as well.
Last on the list for the night was time-shifted Chuck. Chuck is again the coolest nerd/ underdog on Prime Time. He had a gun, a broken foot and the girl of his dreams sleeping next to him. In that short summary it sounds like a pretty good episode for the Chuckster, but it’s never that simple. Supper smooth British spy dude was back and is a pretty good guy even though he’s trying to steal Sarah.
In heartbreaking, tear welling, sad faces news, Team Canada was upset by Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic and has now been eliminated. The pitching wasn’t good, which is what everybody was afraid of going in to the tournament. And to make matters worse, the hitting wasn’t very good as Canada left 11 men on base in the 9 inning game. I’m not impressed. But at least the MLB regular season is just around the corner.
Also in the sporting world, the Montreal Canadiens fired coach Guy Carbonneau. The team is currently sitting in 5th place in the Eastern Conference right now but is only 2 points away from slipping to 9th place and missing the play-offs. General Manager Bob Gainey will take over the coaching duties for the rest of the season. I’m shocked, but we’ll have to see how it goes I guess.
In the world of the internet, Wally Z is expanding. That’s right ppl, we’re on myspace now. www.myspace.com/wallyzblogger there will be mobile blog updates on the go, photos to go along with Flickr and other such internet nonsense.
The next step is to get on the Twitter train harder and get you following every where.
Just found a story on thestar.com about businesses looking at 4 day work weeks as a way to save jobs in the current economic climate. It’s an interesting theory for sure. With lots of people losing jobs outright and bringing their income to $0, are there enough people out there that would take 1 days less pay per week to keep some others working? That’s the big question. When it comes down to it, are we prepared to act when we can to help others, or just talk amongst ourselves and say how sad it is?
That’s all for today good people of cyberspace. Hope to see you soon here or at the new digs on myspace.
