Good morning fine friends.
As I scan the internet and wonder what is going on I’ve come across a few articles that don’t warrant full nods, but quick mention as they caught my attention. Dress better than Brad Pitt, Why teens share it all online, Lucas casting next Star Wars show, E-ve = tres awesome and, 5 signs the recession is over.
I’d like to admit that I learned something yesterday that many many many people already knew that will make the links sections much cleaner everyday. Tinyurl.com is pretty fantastic. I don’t understand that tech side of things, or how they do the things that they do. But rest assured that I will be using it now for those pesky 3 line long links in the section.
Yesterday I found a list of the top 10 chick flicks. But today I’ve found a list of dude’s 20 favourite chick flicks. The list is pretty good, I agree with films like High Fidelity, Serendipity, Moulin Rouge and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. But I disagree with the likes of Bridget Jones’ Diary and Meet Joe Black. The full list is in the links section. The fun part is looking at the thumbnail screen shots and trying to guess the movies. Good luck!
Note: I now have the urge to buy and watch Prince of Thieves.
My beloved Twitter gets another mention in the news today. This time CNN brings us the story of police using the insta-update service to keep people in the loop. It’s a pretty cool idea really. You would sign on to be a follower of your local PD and always be aware when something significant is happening. As long as the cops don’t start updating things like: “got a dnut and cof, headed to the speed trap.” I think that everyone could win in this situation, except for the bad guys of course.
Chris Bosh did the weather on the CTV evening news last night in Toronto. Not a bad job, but he did take a shot at one of my former towns saying “I don’t know how many people live in Peterborough” as he mentioned that it was -6 degrees at the time. Jerk, I can’t stay mad at him. Even if he does look like an alien.
Today’s big ups go to The Little Millionaires as they are now on the myspace friends list. Thanks guys
And here’s a fun one, a link you’ll want to click if for no other reason that you have a crush on Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd or Busy Phillips. Rollingstone.com has a photo set of actors and actresses that have been made famous by appearing in Judd Apatow movies. It’s quick and fun, and kinda cool to see how much one dude really has done for the comedy genre in the last decade or so.
And finally, in semi-sport related news, a man that most of my generation wouldn’t know without qualification has been arrested in California. Peter Pocklington, the owner of the Edmonton Oilers during the glory days, and the man that traded (read: sold) Wayne Gretzky to the LA Kings has been cuffed and held on Bankruptcy Fraud charges. Somewhere there are old Oiler fans cheering that never forgave him for moving The Great One.
That’s all for today, bon weekend!
