Tuesday Morning Musings - Why Aren't There Any Songs About Tuesdays?

Good morning internet.

I’m going to get this off of my chest quickly. I’m not happy with Greg Gutfeld of The Red Eye on the Fox News network. His comments were uncalled for and upsetting. With that said I don’t hold anyone other than those who spoke responsible. I emailed Mr. Gutfeld yesterday to let him know that he could count me as one of the people looking for an apology. I also told him that I didn’t expect to hear back from him and so far I haven’t.

Last night Japan beat South Korea in the final of the World Baseball Classic in an excellent 10 inning game at Dodger Stadium. Both teams put on a baseball clinic with few errors, fantastic base running and over all good baseball. It’s the kind of game you would want to show a group of youngsters learning to play the game at a higher level. The only thing I can’t handle is the way they all take that big step forward when they hit, especially from the left side. But oh well. They’re much better than your old friend Wally.

Stephen Colbert has again taken the world by storm. And this time he’s taking a part of space as well. The TV funny newsman told his viewers to sent write in ballots to NASA for the naming contest of the room at the international space station. Colbert smoked the competition, finishing with 40,000 more votes than the most popular NASA suggestion. NASA has the final say in the decision of course. But this is fantastic.

Note: What ever happened to Rory Fitzpatrick?

Say it ain’t so Chris, say it ain’t so. Reports have surfaced that Raptor star and one time Toronto weather dude Chris Bosh is being sued in an American court claim. His ex live-in is saying that he kicked her out of the house and cut off financial support when she was 7 months pregnant. Baby girl Trinity was born on November 2, 2008. A sworn affidavit by Allison Mathis says that the baby was conceived in New Orleans during the 2008 All-Star weekend. The All-Star weekend last year was February 15thish which puts the November birth 9 months later. I checked. Here’s hoping that this story has a lot more to it than meets the eye. The last thing that anyone needs is to see another promising young man turned into the anti-role model. This guy does great charity work with Boys and Girls Clubs he’s charming, funny and a pretty good player. But none of that will matter if he’s the second coming of Shawn Kemp.

Anybody wanna join my collection to buy the Montreal Canadiens? I’m thinking of calling Jim Balsillie and see if he wants to be part of the group. Reports out of Montreal say that George Gillett has hired BMO Capital Markets to assess various assets in his holdings. Gillett also holds stakes in a NASCAR team and Liverpool FC in the English Premier League. The Canadiens are already in a free fall and this isn’t helping the cause right now. I’m very close to praying for a play-off spot. So much for the magical 100th anniversary season.

Bip ups today go to E-ve. She’s our most faithful reader and biggest inspiration.

Chuck was good last night. The secrets start to unwind, the supporting cast played their usual goofy selves and overall it was an enjoyable hour of TV.

Heroes was good too, and now I finally know who “Rebel” is. And I feel like an idiot for not even having them on my list of suspects. Well played writers, well played.

HIMYM was a re-run. But with the NCAA’s getting ready to start the Sweet 16 games this weekend it was a good tie in to see Barney’s 64 lady bracket on the chalk board.

That’s all for today I think. I’m going to post the email that I sent to The Red Eye on the myspace blog, feel free to take a look.
