Good morning ppl, I hope that the green beer isn’t causing green mornings.
St. Pat’s has come and mostly gone and that means that Easter is next. I know this because The Dollar Store already has all of their Easter stuff out on the shelves. The chocolate tempts me everywhere.
One last St. Patrick’s Day note. Turns out President Obama has a little Irish in him. And not just on the 17th of March. Apparently his great-great-great grandfather on his mother’s side came from Offaly county in Ireland a long long time ago. This guy really is from everywhere.
Now I like Twitter as much as the next guy, probably more, but this little tidbit caught my attention and made me shake my head. Former Toronto Raptor and current Milwaukee Buck Charlie Villanueva was caught by his coach Twittering during halftime of a tie game against the Detroit Pistons. “In da locker-room, snuck to post my twitt. We’re playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up.” If you want to follow Charlie V he’s at CV31.
Guess what?! It’s Britney Baby! (we’re keeping it family friendly ) The new comeback queen of pop hits the Air Canada Centre tomorrow night to the delight of a whole whack of girls on my Facebook. Does she still have it? The tabloids make it look like she still has the body, the singles make it sound like she still has the right team behind her, and hell, the tickets are sold so why not?
Yahoo Canada Music has a link to the If You Seek Amy video. And because we are a family show I can’t tell you why I liked the song so much the first time E-ve let me listen to it on the iPod. But I’ll let you click the link and figure it out for yourselves.
MSN made me smile today with their Top 10 Websites for Kids list. I like kids, I like the internet and I like that there are responsible parents that will let their kids use the internet with the proper protection, and supervision. The list includes the PBS Kids site, something called Club Penguin, a kid approved Whyville, and of course Webkinz. I’ll link to the MSN article and gallery, if you have kids it’s worth a look.
The Bracket is set now folks. Morehead State beat Alabama State 58-43 last night to claim the last 16 seed in the NCAA tournament. They now get a match up with number 1 seed Louisville. It also means that now that the last match up has been announced the rush is on to get your bracket done. I know I brought it up yesterday, but this is important my friends.
And in Toronto there’s tasty news to report. A new initiative is taking place that will bring new food to the streets. The hot dog will have a monopoly no more. This summer you’ll be able to find Souvlaki, pad Thai, jerk Chicken and more at various street corners. I love me a hot dog, but this is pretty cool, and with the multi-culturalness in Toronto it’s a great idea.
That’s all for today mes amis. Go forth and enjoy your Wednesday.
