Happy Hump Day ladies and gentlemen, we’re half way there, whoa, living on a prayer.
I digress, but speaking of hump day I did finally watch the much hyped Canadian Film, Young People F@#$%&*. (The symbols are there because we are happily an all ages blog) I have nothing poor to say about the movie. What I will say is that it’s very much not a family movie, so kids, you’ll have to wait.
Other than that Tuesday night TV was pretty much a bust. Caught an episode of Scrubs, which made me laugh and also wonder if I might be a little bit like J.D. with the day dreaming and such. I don’t tilt my head to the side and pause my day though, I’m more of a quiet reflection kind of guy. The Batman was a re-run, but I watched most of it anyway. Rick Mercer and the Mercer Report was also a highlight on the tube. Dude always seems to make a half hour worth staying awake. And I’m pretty sure he’d be ok with me calling him dude. It also makes me giggle every time that I hear him end his show with “I’m Rick Mercer, see you next Tuesday”
Note: Myspace blog was updated last night with something I found that shocked me. It doesn’t happen much, check it out.
I want to be cautious and forewarning for a second here friends. If you are making plans for this weekend please be careful. I have no idea what the weather will bring in your particular region. But I do know that Friday is in fact the second Friday the 13th in two months, and Sunday represents the Ides of March a la Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. I’m not trying to scare you or anything, I’m just saying.
Prime Minister Stephan Harper made his first big speech regarding the recession yesterday. He told Canadians that we are in good shape to come out of this thing first because we went into it last. The facts are on our side I suppose for the most part. The banks here aren’t in as much trouble and the housing market seems to be better. But when it comes to the big 3 auto makers Canada, and more specifically Ontario, have a long hard road ahead. I’ll try to stay optimistic.
The talk after the speech on cp24 turned to a question about whether Mr. Harper had hired a new speech writer or strategist. Good question really. Harper isn’t usually a funny guy. But he made a skinny dipping joke yesterday that didn’t flop.
Just as an aside, I’m not sure if I’ve ever put this out there, but any comments or questions can always be sent to wally.z1.0@gmail.com or sent as messages on myspace.com
Stay warm ppl, I know that it’s getting closer to the spring, but it’s not nice out there. Keep your sweaters available for a little while yet and don’t be surprised if you see snow again. I’m sorry. Don’t shoot the messenger.
And to end on a happy note… the countdown is now on for St. Patrick’s Day as we are less than a week away. Find a pub, get there early, and try not to embarrass yourself or your friends. Although, legend has it that Ted (of How I Met Your Mother fame) and his eventual wife were both at the same St. Patrick’s Day party where Ted very much made a fool of himself. Take that however you like.
That’s all for today kids.
