Monday, Monday Morning Musings

Good morning, happy Monday, all that that jazz.

The weather is grey, windy and all around gloomy. They are calling for rain and I can already feel the cold drops on my head and neck as I make my way home later. *Shutter*

This weekend was a great preview for summer though. Friday we hit highs of 18 degrees Celsius in Toronto setting a new record for March 6th and all weekend there was baseball on TV. In 2 days I was able to watch part of or all 5 World Baseball Classic games. There were upsets with the Netherlands beating the Dominican Republic and Australia beating Mexico. Both were special events for the winning teams. The Australians played in the inaugural WBC in 2006 and in 3 games had a total of 9 hits and scored 4 runs. On Sunday night in Mexico City they had 22 base hits and scored 17 runs. As for the Dutch, they won a 3-2 thriller and shocked the baseball world with their win on Saturday. I loved them both. Canada plays Italia today at 6:30 at the Rogers Centre and need to win against the heavy underdog or they will be eliminated right away.

The Watchmen opened this weekend and won the box office (as if there was any doubt) with $55.7 million in sales. Reports are also out that Dr. Manhattan is not all Billy Crudup, if you know what I mean.

Find me at www.myspace.com/wallyzblogger there isn’t a whole lot of info there yet, but we’ll change that soon enough. Be one of the first to add as a friend and I’ll love you forever.

Barbie is turning 50! That’s right my friends, the Matel Blonde Bombshell has hit the big 5-0 and now she has tattoos. There’s a bunch of public outcry about it, and I can see why. Barbie is a little girl’s toy, little girls aren’t supposed to have tattoos or want tattoos, and if they do well Angelina Jolie can be the reason.

This is me asking everyone to commit to a Spring Cleaning act of green. If you’re out walking around your town or city and you see trash that has thawed out of a sow bank, pick a piece up and throw it out. It’s cheap, easy and can make a noticeable difference. I’ll admit that I’m stealing the idea from David Suzuki and his Act of Green while he was on The Hour with Strombo.

Speaking of Strombo, I’ve added The Hour blog and Rick Mercer’s blog to the links there on the left. Both are pretty good reads.
Not much else rattling around in my brain today. I hope that everyone enjoys their start to the week.
