Tuesday Morning Musings, Tim Hortons Goes NYC Edition

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The sun is shining which is always a plus, and it’s not crazy humid or hot, which is also a plus.

Huge coffee news in the United States today as Tim Hortons has opened 12 new stores in New York. And we’re talking New York City here folks, not upstate New York State where Canadians go hang out to shop on the weekend.

The Home Run Derby was last night and E-ve and enjoyed the festivities on TV. These guys hit the ball harder and farther than I ever dreamed of being able to do when I stood at home plate as a kid. Prince Fielder, son of former Blue Jay slugger Cecil Fielder, was the winner of the event hitting 23 total bombs in 3 rounds. His longest of the day went for 503 feet which is outrageous. In the last 17 years there have only been 9 Home Runs of 500 or more feet.

E-ve and I also tried the new salads at McDonalds last night. We had the Spicy Thai chicken. I wasn’t blown away, but I wasn’t disappointed. The sauce on the chicken was good and the dressing was tangy, the lettuce wasn’t fantastic, but what can you really expect.

It’s been a busy day in the shop so far, and the internet and cable were down for an hour or so too. Those are 2 things that don’t lead to a calm and entertaining day. Oh whoa is me.

I’m not sure what I’m going to be watching on TV tonight. There will be new movies on TMN, there will be an All-Star game on SportsNet, and there will be random shows on. All signs point to the Mid-Summer Classic, but one can never be sure.

Thumbs up to E-ve and I both having Thursday and Friday off this week. The tentative plan is to do some apartment hunting for this bachelor. Wish me luck.

Big shout out to all the Twitter followers, I don’t know where most of you came from, but it’s nice to have you along for the ride.

Also a hello goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Jake who are home safe from the east coast. Enjoy your last day off today buddy.

Food is calling my name, it’s time to go.

And, same as always, if you're one of those that only stops in this one day a week... See you next Tuesday!

Like wham!
