Happy Sunday blogosphere.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their Sunday so far, whether you are at work, at home, asleep or out and about.
Big thank you to E-ve for talking me into going to see some very old friends at a party last night. My nerves were getting the best of me in the afternoon, but she calmed me down and I went to visit. Thank you, xoxo.
The party was fantastic. It was mostly a get together of guys from our hometown. There were old stories, where are they now conversations, lots of catching up, some beer, some Tiger Woods golf on the Wii, and lots of hockey talk.
The guys set their draft order for the upcoming fantasy hockey season and once the positions were set there was a lot of talk about who would go when. The general consensus is that Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin go 1, 2 and 3 in some order. However, the biggest question is who goes number 4? It’s a tough pick. We talked about it for the better part of 2 hours I’m pretty sure, along with trade talk, hypothetical 1st round choices and other such nonsense. Good times!
Tom Watson is 59 years old, he is a golf legend, and he is right now trying to hold on to a 1 shot lead that would make him the winner of the British Open. This is a fantastic sports story, and I am pulling for him.
We also talked baseball and Roy Halladay. There are some who feel that today, right now, could be Doc’s last start as a member of the Toronto Nine. It makes me sad to think about, but it wouldn’t surprise me. He’s going to demand some top talent no matter where he goes. And there is a chance that in the long run (but hopefully not too long) the trade could make our team better in an all around sense.
A gentle reminder to those of you planning to go out to a restaurant for a meal; Whether you are young or old, rich or not so rich, when you go out to dinner keep a decent tip in mind while budgeting. A smile and wave as you leave the table will not pay the waiter or waitresses rent or phone bill. And if you are out to dinner with someone that you know has a reputation for being a terrible tipper it kinda falls on you to keep an eye on them. I’m not asking you to over tip to compensate, but you can remind them that the service was worth your money, so it should be worth theirs as well. Thank you.
Side note: Tom Watson just bogey’d the 18th hole and is going to a 4 hole play-off to decide the Open Championship.
The sun is shining a little between the clouds today and it seems like we make not get the rain that has avoided us over the last couple of days. The breeze is slight, the air is fresh and it would be nice to have an open window.
On that note, let’s call finish up for now.
Be well friends.
Like Wham!
