I’m feeling pretty alright this morning… there is some general tummy unsettledness but otherwise things are good. I’ve got a shirt and tie on at work for the first time with the new dress code and ownership. I’ve also got some new body spray stuff from Bath & Body Works that smells like Barber Shop. Speaking of Barber Shop, I do need a haircut. I don’t think that anyone is going to disagree with that statement.
Side note: Thank you very much to E-ve for taking care of and babying me while I was complaining about the worst of the tummy pain. Thank you, xoxo.
Yesterday was billed as an action packed day with what turned out to be a lot of sitting and waiting for dressing room results. I ended up with some skinny suspenders from H&M as reported in the Editors Notes Edition yesterday, but that was it. As I said, there was relatively little choose from in the dudes section of the stores, but I tried.
The NHL free agent period is in full swing mes amis and I have been watching intently as GM Bob Gainy tries to put the Montreal Canadiens back on top in the Eastern Conference (it’s not going to be easy). So far there has been a lot of money doled out over the next 5 years or so, and there’s still a little money left to spend for next year so I’m still eagerly awaiting results. I’m happiest with D-man Hall Gill for 2 years and $4.5 million and Mike Cammalleri for 5 years with a $6 million a year cap hit. I’m not sold on Cammalleri as a $6 million a year guy, but we’ll see I guess.
The NBA free agent signing period starts on Wednesday the 8th and the rumours are that the Toronto Raptors are going to ink Hedo Turkoglu to a 5 year deal worth north of $50 million. I’ve already seen resistance from some Raptor fans about spending all of our available cash on this guy, but I think he’s a good player. Bringing Turkoglu in pretty much guarantees that DeMar DeRozan is going to get some significant minutes in the 2009 – 2010 season.
Just got a text from E-ve, she’s watching Canada’s Next Top Model. Sounds like she’s having a comfy morning thus far.
Just heard from Jake right now, things seem to be good in NB. Everyone is sending best wishes for a fantastic visit.
Also heard from Romeo with a Happy Friday pin on the BB.
I got a little geeky last night and picked up Fanboys and watched it with E-ve. We even watched a bunch of the special features. Thank you to E-ve for letting my geek out.
I think that’s it for today. There’s a lot of web work to be done. And by work I clearly mean Twitter updates, check the MySpace and maybe write something for www.hotpinkgeek.com.
