Sunday Morning Musings, Canadiana Edition

Beau matin mes amis.

I hope that everyone is enjoying their Sunday so far. The sun is shining, there’s no call for rain and there’s even a slight breeze blowing to keep things comfortable.

Today is the Honda Indy at the Exhibition grounds in Toronto and by all accounts so far it should be a success. There are 2 Canadians starting in the top 15 on the grid with Alex Tagliani starting 5th and hometown boy Paul Tracy starting in the 15th spot. Big ups to 8 time Toronto Indy winner Michael Andretti for getting the race back on the schedule after it missed the cut last year.

We’re having a very Canadiana day at work today, and it’s all because of the movie I watched late last night before bed. The other day when E-ve and I were at Blockbuster picking out previously viewed DVD’s I picked up a Canadian flick by a dude named Michael McGowan called One Week. The movie stars Joshua Jackson, who I have always been a fan of thanks to The Mighty Ducks and Dawson’s Creek. I enjoyed the film from a visual stand point as the trip from Toronto to the west coast was fantastically shot. I also enjoyed the movie itself. It was heavy. This is not a light hearted date movie. I believe I described it to E-ve in a text like this: Movie = Heavy, like bend your knees to lift, heavy. I recommend it for the visuals, for the story and for the little things like Gord Downie and the Stanley Cup. Bon fait les gars.

So far the music selections on YouTube for the day have included Blue Rodeo, The Hip, Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLachlan etc. Admittedly I’ve been the one searching and selecting, but that’s the pro to being the first one to get to work in the morning.

It was a heart breaking loss for the Blue Jays last night in Baltimore. Well maybe not heart breaking because it keeps happening. But losing on a walk off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning is never fun no matter how far your team has fallen.

Thumbs up to E-ve for the great job with her shoe tree. A picture came through last night to show the finished product. Next the wishes of good luck go to the hanging thingys for the closet.

Daddy Z sent a message today inviting E-ve and I to a bbq in August. I love bbq and Daddy Z so it sounds like a no brainer.

You know who’s pretty? E-ve is.

Apologies go out to everyone on the Twitter feed for lack of updates lately. My bad. Been lazy. I’ll try to pick it up.

Side note: The Discovery Channel looks awesome in HD.

I think that’s all for today folks. Happy Sunday.

Like wham!
