Good Sunday to you friends of the internet.
We’re here at work as per usual and the TV is on, and I can say with absolute certainty that history is taking place. The Gentlemen’s Championship at Wimbeldon is on in HD and it is a beauty. One time American wonder boy, Andy Roddick is playing against Swiss dynamo, Roger Federer for the title. The match has been going on for 4 hours now with the men in the deciding 5th set. They have broken the record for most games played in a final, most games played in a 5th set, Federer has set a career high in aces and Andy Roddick is sweating like Patrick Ewing. If this game ends before we go to post I’ll update.
I skipped the morning coffee today and went with a Booster Juice instead. I’m not upset with my decision. The Very Berry with an energy booster has been a great start to the day.
Last night was also great with E-ve and our friend in town from Ottawa at the Mexican Eatery near work. The cervezas were cold, the food was hot and the guacamole was made fresh right in front of us at the table. All told, the food was good, the drinks were good and the company was great.
Side note: The only knock on the place was the lack of Corona. Even the dude at work this morning was astonished that a Mexican place was out of Corona on a Saturday night.
Bad news out of Blue Jay camp starts with a 12th inning loss at New Yankee Stadium yesterday in the afternoon and continues today with the news that Canadian pitcher and April Rookie of the Month, Scott Richmond has been placed on the 15 day Disabled List with shoulder tendinitis. The boys are back in action today and we’ll be watching that game once the score has been settled at the All England Club.
Spoke to Mommy Z on the phone the other night and wished her a happy anniversary (after she reminded me indirectly that it was their anniversary) and asked her if she enjoyed her party last weekend. She says she did, which is good enough for me. She also told me that they picked themselves up an anniversary gift that the whole family can enjoy when we visit, a Nintendo Wii. I’m not entirely surprised as we talked about bringing E-ve’s with us when we visit, but it’s awesome for sure. I warned her to make sure that everyone stretches before they start to play and that we will be there to get some work in soon.
Pretty awesome news here at the store as the new ownership looks to be 6 steps ahead of the old group. I have postcard type coupons/ advertisements in the store that have TFC’s Danny Dichio on them. All I want now are some tickets to go and see the boys in red at BMO before the summer is over.
There’s a cute little kid in the store right now with a Spider-man t-shirt on. It always makes me smile when little kids have super hero shirts on. I don’t know why.
Update: Tennis has reached championship point. And Roger Federer has just broken Andy Roddick’s serve for the first time all day to win the Championship. He has now broken Pete Sampras’ record of 14 career Grand Slam titles. Congratulations to him. I was cheering for Andy to pull out a win though.
It’s a bright and sunny day, which means patios are open and people and out and about. If you are one of the people out on a patio be sure not to stare to long at people walking by and to be nice to your server.
Wishes of a good shift to E-ve today at the restaurant.
Happy Sunday!
Like wham!
