Monday Morning Musings, Sunny With A Chance Of Lemonade Edition

Good morrow mes amis.

Big ups to my E-ve. You’re pretty darn awesome.

We had a great night yesterday after I was done work. First we hit Red Lobster for some crab cakes and all Endless Shrimp and then it was off to the movies at Dundas Square for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D. The dinner was good (although the shrimp was a little slow coming out of the kitchen) thanks to a sweet server. And the flick was good thanks to the people that put it together. One of my favourite little things was during the opening credits when the “A film by” line credit comes up. However, instead of a director’s name it said “a lot of people”. I thought that was a pretty classy move from an animation studio that has all hands on deck for this kind of project. There will probably be a full review of the movie somewhere today. Most likely on www.hotpinkgeek.com or at www.myspace.com/wallyzblogger.

Congrats go out to one of E-ve’s favs as Alec Baldwin walked away with an Emmy last night for Best Actor in a Comedy.

I didn’t watch the show, but all reviews for host Neil Patrick Harris have been good and I even heard this morning that there is a buzz about him as a possible Oscar host.

Staying on the topic of TV… it’s a big week for premieres. Tonight there is a 2 hour opening of House as well as a 2 hour shot of Heroes. And in the half hour market we get How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. It’s a big night folks. Usually I am able to time shift everything and make it all work, but tonight it’s going to be tricky. Wish a dude luck.

High fives to the New York Jets after a big week 2 win yesterday after they beat the New England Patriots. The look on Tom Brady’s face as the seconds tick down and he knew that there was no way that his squad was going to win put a smile on my face.

I caught most of the second half of the Sunday Night Football game last night after the movie and got to see the fantastic new Cowboys Stadium in Texas. The thing is huge. There were over 105,000 people in attendance they loved the game… except for the game ending field goal by the New York football Giants that won the game.

The weather has warmed up a little bit, but they say there is rain on the way. I’m not sure what to make of it. I didn’t need a jacket to leave the apt this morning, but I have my little rain coat in my bag.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do for Hallowe’en this year. I have some pretty impressive black mandex that can be used in costuming, which leads me to superhero. But I also have an awesome red one piece long underwear thing that makes cowboy an easy (and often used) option.

I’m officially calling the baseball season over in Toronto. I will attend one of the final home games of the year only if someone else if buying the ticket. I love this team and have done so for 20-plus years of my life. I even have a huge 1992 American League Championship button on my bag. Not a World Series Championship button even, that’s how deep my allegiances go. However, it’s hard to watch the same thing happen over and over again at the end of each season. And it’s even harder to see Roy Halladay’s season pick up a 10th loss when, in my humble opinion, he is one of the top 3 starting pitchers in the game.

I think I’m going to call it a post on that note my friends. I know it’s not a happy thought… but I’ve got other things to take care of.

Like wham!
