*Please see Writer’s note at bottom.
Today we sit down with Cabral Richards from The Score television network. He’s a funny guy who has interviewed legends of professional sports as well as students, bartenders, pretty women and random dudes. His television show “Cabbie Unlimited” is a big hit on the network and I tune is as often as possible.
This afternoon we’re lucky enough to be interviewed by Cabbie… let’s see what he has in store for us.
Cabbie: Is the digital age gonna help with de-forestation? I mean, daily newspapers are on their way out and everything's online.
Wally Z: Wow Cabbie, huge question right off the top. I think that the digital age can help prevent de-forestation, but we also need to stop clear cutting to build malls and parking lots if we are really going to save the forests.
Cabbie: Who do you think gets photographed more, athletes or entertainers?
Wally: Well, in the spirit of TIFF here in Toronto this week I’m going to have to say entertainers.
Cabbie: Will the Cleveland Brown show be funny? I have my doubts.
Wally: I have my doubts too. I don’t think he’s got enough to carry his own show. The funniest bits with him for me always had Cleveland in the background with the funny.
Cabbie: Is Tina Fey funnier than Ellen? That's a toss up for me. Love them both.
Wally: Dude, that is a toss up. Tina Fey is a funny woman and E-ve and I love 30 Rock. But Ellen has been making me laugh for a long, long time. I’m going to have to give the nod to Ellen on this one.
Cabbie: Why do girls run so slowly in the movies?
Wally: Hmm, could be a couple of reasons I guess. Part of it could be that dudes need to feel faster. Another reason could be the “Baywatch Factor”. There’s also the damsel in distress thing so running slowly makes the girls look more valuable.
Cabbie: Do people that flutter their eyes when they talk, know they're fluttering their eyes?
Wally: I think that some of them do. The whole eye flutter thing can be flirting by some women, so I think that they know. But if it’s a nervous tick and nobody ever pointed it out, maybe someone wouldn’t know.
Cabbie: Why do magician type dudes always have long hair? Is that a prerequisite?
Wally: I think that it’s part of the myth and mystery. I also think it is part of the entertainment factor. Wrestlers have long hair, rock stars have long hair it’s just the way it’s always been.
Cabbie: Why do sandwiches from the restaurant ALWAYS taste better than they do at my house? Same ingredients, different taste. Sigh.
Wally: I’m with you there sir. I don’t know if it’s the way they spread the mayo or if they have a special toaster, but I just can’t match the taste. It sucks, but I do make a killer peanut butter and jam sandwich.
Cabbie: Leaving for Boston this morning. There for the weekend. Can anyone recommend any cool spots?
Wally: Gee. I’ve never been to Beantown, so I don’t know. I guess you’d want to hit Cheers, Fenway, the site of the Boston Tea Party, any college party. I don’t know what to suggest. Have fun though.
I’ve got time for one more question Cabbie, lay it on me.
Cabbie: Interesting things are popping up on the horizon. What does it all mean?
Wally: I think it means that you’re going to have all kinds of opportunites my friend. Take advantage of whatever you can. Thanks for stopping in. It was pretty cool.
There you have it friends. That’s what happened when Cabral “Cabbie” Richards and I sat down for a few minutes. I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did. And I didn’t even get groped that badly. (You’ll know what that means if you’ve seen his show)
Writers note: Cabral “Cabbie” Richards never actually sat down with us for an interview. In all reality the answers to these questions have been taken way out of context and are actually Twitter updates. We hope that this is entertaining and unassuming and not offensive. We never aim for that at all times.
I’m a big fan of Cabbie’s work and hope to hang out with him, even if just for a few minutes someday. If he doesn’t hate me for writing this that is.
Thanks for stopping by.
Like wham!
