Tuesday Back to Work Musings

Good back to work Tuesday morning everyone.

I hope that all of you that had long weekends enjoyed them as much as I did. Family day itself wasn’t filled with family time, but the weekend had a lot more family time than usual.

I went out yesterday for some early birthday money shopping and ended up quite pleased with myself. I went to The World’s Biggest Bookstore for the first time in my life and left with 3 graphic novels and half of the money left. I also went to the used bookstore next door, but didn’t buy the book that I was going to (Batman/ Superman) because I didn’t want the guy to have to break $100 for an $8 book. And after I left World’s Biggest I didn’t need to go in and buy a 4th book. I ended up going home with Hush volumes 1 and 2 (Batman) and DC’s Infinite Crisis.

So far I have opened Infinite Crisis and started reading. I was quite thrown off by the fact that I have to read the book back cover to front and upside down. I’m still not sure if that’s the way that they had things planned, or if I have an error… but either way the story is pretty alright. I’ve never really delved into the alternate planets and universes world of comics, but this time the whole story is based on the Multiverse. So I guess I have no choice.

I also did my regular Monday night TV watching starting early this week at 5:30 with The Batman and then Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy (I did indeed get the correct answer/ question for Final Jeopardy), Las Vegas (on Mystery TV) and then House and Heroes. That took me to 10 o’clock where I had an hour before Chuck started on my NBC Seattle feed (ch. 151) I used the time to have a bowl of cereal and read some more Infinite Crisis.

Chuck was probably the highlight of the night for me. It’s such a fantastic show. I love how smart and funny it is. And it also has the right mix of attractive and regular looking characters to make it pleasing to the eye, but not soap opera unrealistic. Bonus: Autism Activist/ Mommy – Jenny McCarthy guest starred as a bad guy as did squeaky voiced, former Conan sidekick – Andy Richter.

I’m starting to get discouraged with Heroes as it seems only the last 15 minutes is any good. But it’s so good at drawing me in that I don’t want it to end at the end of the hour. Also, I can’t watch only the last 15 minutes because I’ll be totally lost for the next episode. It’s a catch 22, and I’m definitely caught.

Tonight I have no idea what I’m going to watch. I still haven’t watched Wanted (picked it up when I got JLA: New Frontier) so that may end up being the plan.

It’s a short work week, and even shorter for me (not bragging, just saying) so I hope that you all enjoy it!
