Hey there friends.
Happy Monday. Hope you’re all rocking it.
Big loving to E-ve who is getting ready for a trip. I’m excited for her even though I’ll miss her while she’s away.
Excellent Sunday dinner last night. Taquitos and Chicken Fingers. How can a bachelor ask for any better than that? Quick, easy and pretty tasty. Good times.
I am loving the length and fullness of my beard right now.
Blue Jays vs Tigers on the TV at work right now. Awesome!
Had some sleep in time today since I was alone in the store for a while yesterday. Was nice.
Started reading for DC Trinity stuff that I almost forgot I had while I was on the street car and subway today. I bought the comics so I could use the covers as art. I may as well read them before I put them on the wall.
There are a lot of errors made in spring training baseball. I think I could play.
It’s Chuck night. I’m excited. I just hope I can stay awake long enough to watch it.
Thumbs down to the San Jose Sharks. Eff you guys. Losing and not scoring lots of goals for me is unacceptable.
The weather is supposed to be nice over the next few days. That’ll mean less sweaters for me, I like that prospect.
Lady Gaga has announced her North American tour dates. There are 4 Canadian dates set, so if you want to see Gaga and are in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto or Montreal you will have your chance.
I answer a lot of questions every day. It’s a pain in the arse.
I think it’s time for me to hang it up for today.
Have a great rest of the day.

Saturday Morning Musings, Welcome @H_S_S_E Edition
Hey there.
Happy Saturday. I’m excited. If you don’t know why, you haven’t been paying attention.
Big lovin’ to E-ve as she has a day off to relax and chill out and do laundry or whatever else she busies herself with before I annoy the crap out of her later. I have no idea what our official plans are, mostly because I have no good ideas. I’m trying to leave it in her very capable hands.
It’s a long shift, but for some reason I’m feeling alright about it. I have some things that I want to try to accomplish and I read some Batman on the subway. Now I have a hot coffee and my fingers feel good on the keyboard. Look out world, I’m coming for ya.
Last night I watched Numbers before I called it a night. I’ve been watching the show for quite some time and have season 1 on DVD at the apartment. But once in a while when I’m watching it I can’t help but think about how odd it is to see the Quiz Master as an FBI agent.
We’re on an old school R&B kick in the store right now that was spurred on by Lil’ Wayne… because he drives us crazy.
If you have time today turn back the clock and hit youtube for 112 and Next and Jagged Edge and love it up. And if you’re a Canadian kid it’s your patriotic duty to listen to Money Jane.
And then tonight before you go to bed turn the clock back ahead again as we’re getting to daylight savings time again.
Mark May 8th on your calendars kiddies. That’s the night that Betty White has been confirmed to host Saturday Night Live. She is hilarious. She is a legend. She is old. I have no idea how this is going to play out, but a big part of me wants to check it out.
Pat Quinn is back in Toronto tonight as the bad guy as the Oilers try to knock off the Maple Leafs. It’s team #29 vs. team #30 at the ACC. Be ready to take sides.
Welcome Heterosexuals for Same Sex Equality to Twitter. If you believe that all people deserve the rights that straight people enjoy, you should check them out. I’m not preaching, just saying. www.twitter.com/H_S_S_E
Good luck to Jake as he gets ready for his March Break bachelorhood. I hope that everything goes swimmingly. And I hope that Romeo keeps his pants on.
The rain isn’t falling right now in Toronto, so I’m gonna go step outside.
Have a great day lovelies.

Friday Morning Musings, Roll Up The National Anthem To Win Edition
Good day my friends.
I apologize for my lack of being here lately. I've been trying to keep the Twitter feed updated a little, but other stuff has been in the way.
Big love to my biggest fan E-ve who reminded me that I've been slipping. She's also a pretty awesome person with some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies waiting ready for her breakfast this morning. Xoxo.
- Habs lost in San Jose after a great game by Carey Price and a stupid cheap shot hit by Max LaPierre. Not impressed Max, probable suspension coming from the NHL today.
- Blue Jays won! That's right. The Blue Jays, my boys of summer, are now playing their exhibition schedule and knocked off the Tigers 9-7 yesterday afternoon.
- Last work day before the Oscars. Make sure that you get your picks in for the office pool. Good luck.
- Cyndi Lauper has been announced as the headlining act for 2010's Toronto Gay Pride Festival. She will be playing a free concert during the week and represents a new addition to the already huge and amazing week that Toronto and the Pride committee put together every year.
- The weather is getting warmer in Toronto my friends. They are calling for a high of 4 today, 8 tomorrow and 9 on Sunday. And it's only the 1st week of March. Maybe this summer won't be so blah as last year.
- Roll up the Rim is indeed now back and I'm sure that you already knew that. But here's what I want to mention. There has to be a better way. Tim Hortons needs to become greener. I know that to most of us in Canada see Tim's as an institution and may be more adverse to change with them than we are about the national anthem (more on that later) but change is needed. I have a reusable mug and so does E-ve but if you use it you don't get to be 1 of the lucky few who roll after finishing their coffee and hope to win. Le sigh. I wrote about this last year too. Maybe I'll dust that piece off.
- The government has started debating whether or not the lyrics to Oh Canada should be changed to become gender neutral. Now, if this were the USA we would just have a prop amendment on an election ballot and that would be it. But here it's all up to the folks representing us in the House. If you think it's crazy, maybe send a quick email to your member to let them know it's fine the way it is.
- I need to buy lottery tickets and win a jackpot. Just saying.
- Slept better than Wednesday night, but still not enough. Perhaps a mid-morning nap before I tackle my day.
- Keep smiling and high fiving and being great out there kids.
I think that's all for today.
Have a good one.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Evening And Sorry For Being Away Edition
Hello world.
I hope you’re well.
Sorry about the delay in writing. It’s been a long few days.
Big ups to E-ve. She’s pretty awesome and working hard. I’m happy to report that games night was a success (I think) and everyone had a good time. Here’s hoping that they don’t have to wait long to have another.
Lots of love to everyone who is always in my corner.
I am thinking of getting french fries for dinner tonight on the way home. I don’t want to kill the Home Cooking Experiment, but I’ve got a craving and it’s hard to ignore. I also think that since I didn’t eat a real lunch I can use that as an exception.
I’ve been trying to keep the Twitter feed rolling, but since the Olympics have ended there hasn’t been much to say.
I will say this though; the Toronto Raptors are in trouble. They can’t seem to win without Chris Bosh, and he hasn’t been on the floor. You do the math. Sad faces.
Now I don’t want to get on a rant here, (Dennis Miller, anyone remember him?) but I thought we had a chance to catch Boston for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics look old and tired and we should have been able to catch them in the second half of the season. The guys look weak on defense, sloppy on offense and are letting some really good momentum get away. Sonny Weems can keep throwing down fast break dunks all night, but it’s not going to win us any games. Pull up your socks boys. Both figuratively and literally (it’s a good look, search Keith Van Horn in Google images) and let’s see what happens.
The newest list of competitors has been released for Dancing with the Stars. It includes Pamela Anderson and Kate Gosselin and Chad Ochocinco among others. I don’t watch the show, so we’ll wait and see what the fans and critics think.
It seems as though winter has ended in Toronto now that the Olympics are over. Roll up the Rim has started at Tim Hortons and the weather is getting warmer. Get your flip flops ready my friends.
High fives to everyone who celebrated peacefully after Canada’s win over the USA on Sunday. I am proud of you. It was an emotional event and you showed some true Canadian spirit. As for the rest of you, please remember next time that happy isn’t a reason to wreck stuff. Merci.
I think that’s all for this evening mes amis. Have a good night.
And, as for always, if this is the only day you’re here each week, we’ll see you next Tuesday.

Saturday Morning Musings, E-ve > Batman Edition
Good day to you all.
I hope that this finds you all well.
Welcome to the weekend, and a huge weekend it is.
For those of us puckheads and Olympic enthusiasts tomorrow will mark the biggest game we’ve ever watched. Be ready for Canada vs. USA friends. It could get crazy.
Big lovin’ to E-ve who ended up working a double shift yesterday at the restaurant. Good people do good things. You read it here. She is the awesome. And like I said on Twitter yesterday, I love her way more than I love Batman.
I forgot my chapstick today. Which sucks because my lips are drier than they have been all winter long. It figures that my system would fail me on the day I need it most. Sigh.
The snow is in the air here in Toronto again today. And some people are sick of it already. Makes me wonder what would have happened if we had a real winter earlier on.
I finished my Batman comic yesterday that E-ve got me for my bday. It was pretty good. And if Kevin Smith says that Widening Gyre is a better Batman story I think I will have to read it at some point to find out.
Finishing Batman also means that it’s time to start reading World War Z. Everyone loves a good piece of Zombie literature, and I’m hoping that this book is no different.
For some reason there isn’t a lot coming to mind today as I sit at the keyboard. Weird I know.
We’re rocking the iTunes radio on the computer right now while we wait for the latest episode of Survivor to download. My co-worker is a big fan, and who am I to deny him?
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Chile. Yesterday’s earthquake was large and caused a lot of destruction. I hope for the best for those of you with friends and family there.
In other nature news, there’s a huge iceberg floating toward Australia. They say that it’s half the size of Prince Edward Island, that’s a big chunk of ice kids. And they also say that it’s not global warming related. Wild eh?
I think that’s all for now.
Have a great Saturday.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Ups To All Edition
Hola amigos.
I hope that you’re all well on this hump day.
Big ups to E-ve at work. Smile big and flirt for tips. Your horoscope said so.
Trying to come up with ideas for hang out date day tomorrow. Doing my best not to have them all revolve around comic books or comic books movies. It’s tough. Maybe a dinner and left over birthday cake will make up for whatever silliness I come up with.
Huge ups to Team Canada after a great effort last night against the Germans. It was exactly what the team needed and maybe more importantly what the fans needed. With the Russians on tap tonight everyone wanted some confidence going in to tonight. An 8-2 win will give you some confidence.
Also, some of the biggest ups we have go out to Joannie Rochette who skated the best short program of her life last night. With the weight of the world on her shoulders and the thoughts and prayers of a nation behind her she was superb. She now sits in 3rd place going into the long program.
It’s snowing just a little bit in Toronto today. I don’t think it will amount to anything, but it does make it feel like winter outside. Better late than never I guess.
Thanks to Sean from Bad Deacon Design for the offer of a free woodblock print. He had a great idea to get followers on Twitter yesterday by offering a free print to anyone that started following him. I shot him a quick email to tell him that I loved the idea and thanks for the offer. He says the print will be on the way shortly. Check out the website http://www.baddeacondesign.com/
I’ve now moved everything over to my new JLA bag including pins. I think that makes it officially my new day to day shoulder bag. The old one will stay in the apt though. It’s too good to throw away.
Reminder: Chuck comes back with new episodes on March 1st.
E-ve and I had an sms discussion about the bobsled racing last night. I think it would be fun to try and maybe even drive. She thinks that it would be too much of a chance. Add it to the list of things to maybe try some day.
Happy Birthday to step-sister Z.
If you’re on Twitter and like to laugh and love words and writing you should follow FakeAPStylebook. It won’t disappoint.
I think that’s all for today. I’ve got to get my shift in and rush home for some puck.
Have a goodie.

Thursday Morning Musings, Falling In Love W/ Speed Skating Edition
Bonjour amis.
I hope that you all made it over the hump and have landed safely here on Thursday.
Big ups to E-ve for coming over to visit last night. It was a great way to end a long day. We chatted and laughed and smiled and cuddled and it was the awesome. Just like she is.
Also big thanks for all of her help planning this weekend’s getaway. I’m excited.
It sounds like Jake and Romeo are getting excited as well, and that makes me happy. I haven’t seen them in far too long.
I am falling in love with the sport of speed skating. It’s fast, competitive and has 2 different disciplines. Long track is so pretty to watch with the athletes showing pure power and speed as they travel around the oval. And short track has tons of excitement. The racers are flying around the track, shoulder to shoulder with other skaters, no pads other than a helmet and taking corners so sharp that they have to put their fingers down to steady themselves. Watching them pass is a thing of fright and beauty as crashes at high speed can happen, but when executed properly it is perfection. It also helps that Canada is pretty good at the sport and are picking up a few medals in Vancouver.
I could really use a few sales today before I take a 3 day weekend. So if you know anyone in Toronto, send them my way.
I could also use tips on new job opportunities in Toronto. I’m not super worried about the money my friends. At this point if I can find something that makes me smile and puts close to a couple grand in the bank a month I’ll be well ahead of where I am now.
I’d like to thank Reba McEntire for influencing so many of the female country artists that I love listening to now.
Today is my 3rd straight 10 hour shift/ 12 hour day so that I can have 3 days off in a row. That’s the way things go around here. Get used to it.
Good luck to everyone who is now on day 2 of Lent and giving things up. I hope that it’s going well so far.
I wasn’t able to give up pancakes as I had left overs with peanut butter last night for dinner with chocolate milk on the side. It was very tasty.
Does anyone know of anything awesome going on in Peterborough this Saturday? E-ve and I are looking for plans. wally.z1.0@gmail.com or www.twitter.com/wallyzblogger
Is there a Country 105 dance somewhere maybe?
I’ve got designs on writing a bunch today so I think I’m gonna call this a wrap.
Have a great day friends. If I don’t post over the weekend don’t fear me dead.

Wednesday Morning Musings, Wii Belong In This World Together Edition
Good day to you all.
I hope that the chilly weather hasn’t shocked your systems too badly.
It’s mid-week now, half way to Romeo’s weekend, the first day of Jake’s weekend and my Friday.
Big ups to E-ve and best wishes to her mom for a speedy recovery from her current bout of not feeling so great. She’s a trooper. And all kinds of love to E-ve for being a great daughter and care giver.
All kinds of luck and positive thoughts are being sent to the ACC tonight as the Raptors take on the Miami Heat and try to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference standings. I really believe that this is a play-off team. I don’t know if they can win in the play-offs, but I think that they can get there.
Police in Toronto have started a street crossing safety blitz in response to the multiple deaths in the first 3 weeks of the year. I never thought it would have to come to this, but people actually need to be told to watch for traffic.
PETA is proposing a robot stand-in for groundhogs for this Groundhog’s Day. I didn’t read the story because I think it’s a little ridiculous. If you want to see what they have to say it can be found at yahoo.ca
The story in the news right now is that South and North Korea exchanged fire near a sea border that is much contested. It can’t be good for the world that North Korea has their back up and is ready to fire any kind of weapon.
I watched the Habs play in Florida last night and had my heart broken in the 3rd period. The boys couldn’t hold a 1-0 lead in the game and lost 2-1 after a penalty shot and an even strength goal.
I have urges to play video games. And I don’t usually have those thoughts. Maybe I’ll clean the apartment so that E-ve will bring the Wii over.
There are still 6 hours left in the work day. This could be a long one.
I hope everyone in internet land has a good one.
Later my friends.

Sunday Morning Musings, Trivial Pursuit And The Raptors Win Edition
Good day y’all.
It’s a grey and mild Sunday in Toronto, but I hope there’s some sunshine in your life wherever you are.
Big ups to E-ve as she prepares herself for Trivial Pursuit this evening. I have extreme faith in her ability to run the field with her knowledge of pretty much everything.
I’m not trying to stop anyone from playing Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Trivial Pursuit or Scrabble with E-ve, but it’s a tough go if you try. I’ll stick to sports trivia and things of that ilk.
In other game news, it’s a Killer Bunnies evening in Ottawa. Good luck to everyone in the battle for the winning carrot.
Karaoke was fun last night. As I mentioned on Twitter, my 2nd song was too big for me in the end. I did too much singing along, and I blame the shot of rye for me not being able to do justice to Tim McGraw’s Live Like You Were Dyin’. The last big long note was just a little too much.
I also realized that Glee has had a huge impact because when Sweet Caroline and Don’t Stop Believin’ came on all I could think about was those damn kids doing a fantastic job with the music.
I also received my first birthday gift of the year, which was unexpected and pretty cool. A wooden baseball bat, much like the ones I had when I was a kid. It feels perfect in my hands and reminds me of days gone by.
The late night street car ride home was packed with people that must have had a great time last night because it was loud and busy.
I had a good quick visit with E-ve before I went home to change to go out last night too. We had some Tim Hortons and chit chat. I was out of it a bit from working which didn’t make me great company, but she makes me a happy dude. I’m lucky.
Sad faces as mes Canadiens lost 4-2 last night to Ottawa. It wasn’t a great effort by les boys. And it underscores the fact that Montreal scores fewer goals per game than any other team in the NHL.
Happy faces as the Toronto Raptors are minutes away from a big home win against the Dallas Mavericks. These are games that are big to win because they give us the opportunity to beat bad teams and climb the standings instead of just treading water.
Time to wrap it up for the day. It’s a short work day and we’ve got basketball, hockey and football to watch.
Have a great day.

Saturday Morning Musings, First Muse Of The New Year Edition
Good morning mes amis.
I hope that the new year has started well for each and every one of you.
One quick thing before I really start. I saw a Facebook status that said something along the line of, Happy New Year to all of my friends, and everyone else can go F themselves. I think that’s absolutely terrible. I know this person and there are a lot of people that don’t especially care for her personality… so there are many people that aren’t her friend. I would personally like to wish all of those people a happy new year.
And now, my thank you’s need to be handed out.
Thank you to E-ve for a great NYE. Dinner was tasty and the company was lovely. Champagne was a great touch and our Christmas wine was a nice treat.
Also, thank you for my Christmas presents. I have been waiting years for Band of Brothers and now I have it. I have a feeling that there will soon be a marathon at my apartment.
This is the first muse of 2010 and as such it should be special. But really, I don’t know how to make it any more special than any of 2009’s posts were.
Thank you to everyone that has popped in to read during our first 280 something posts and I hope that you will all stick with us as we pass 300 and 400 and 500 during this year.
Thank you to everyone at the NHL that put together the 3rd annual Winter Classic at Fenway Park yesterday. The event was fun to watch from start to finish. I personally thought that singing Sweet Caroline during the 3rd period was a great touch. A lot of hockey fans didn’t seem to think so, but I believe that you have to embrace the tradition of the venue and city that you are using for special events.
The only true downside I saw was Daniel Powter singing the Canadian national anthem before the game. I did think that it was a nice touch for the NHL to have the anthem represented even though there wasn’t a Canadian team in the game, but Powter did a bad job. And the way he was moving around and such while he was singing made him look like a douche.
Confession: E-ve and I both napped through part of the game.
I’m hyped for the Raptors game tonight against the Boston Celtics because if we win it will mean a 6 game win streak. And our chances of winning are good because Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo won’t be playing in the game.
It is friggin’ cold in the city today. Like -27 with the wind chill factor. Bundle up if you’re out in the sunshine today.
I think that’s all for now my friends. I hope that you have a great day.
