Hey y'all.
I hope that your week started well yesterday and that today has been a good day as well.
Happy birthday to Mommy Z today and Step-dad Z yesterday.
I know it's still early to judge the day as a whole. But after 2 cups of coffee and a small sense of relief/ accomplishment at the office I think today is lined up to be a winner.
Right now I'm rocking some internet Country radio courtesy of iTunes and I like it. Judge all you like. It won't change anything.
The countdown is now on until the next trip to Ottawa to see Jake and Romeo and the gang. And, I'm pleased to report that I have booked an extra day off for the weekend. So that's awesome.
If you're in the Ottawa area and want to hang out on the weekend of the 12th let me know here on or Twitter.
I need more Batman books. I know I've said that a lot. But I think it's time to sacrifice some other purchases so that I can make that happen.
Alright, there's a lot going on in the office and on my desktop right now, so I should get to it.
I hope that you all have a rocking day!
Until I speak to you again, be good to one another.
And as always, if you're only here this one day a week, see you next Tuesday.

Saturday Morning Musings, Jays vs Rangers Edition
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, readers of all ages, Happy Saturday!
Big smiling love to my E-ve. She's got a long shift ahead of her today. I wish for excellent tippers with positive attitudes and good manners. X's and O's.
Just finished watching some Glee on demand. That's right, I said it. I love that show. I just watched the episode with Ice Ice Baby, Can't Touch This, Physical and Total Eclipse of the Heart. All of the numbers were well done and make me wanna sing.
The Blue Jays and Rangers go at this afternoon at the Rogers Centre. The Jays won a slugfest last night. Pounding out 15 hits, including 5 home runs, on their way to a 16-10 win. That's a lot of scoring.
And while the Jays and Rangers were trading blows last night the Flyers and Bruins were vying for the 2nd spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals.
The Bruins were winning the series 3 games to none and looked like the easy favourite to move on. But the Flyers came back. And last night in game 7 the Bruins took a 3-0 lead and again looked like the easy favourite to move on. But the Flyers came back again to win 4-3 and win the series.
So, the Flyers will now host the Canadiens on Sunday night at 7 to open the ECF. The Flyers have a tough defensive corps and some physical forwards, but I still believe in my Habs.
Today has been a coffee and writing day so far. I have a feeling it will continue along those lines as the day goes on.
Called and left a message for Mommy Z this morning so maybe I'll talk to her today.
Less than 1 week til Jake and Romeo are here.
Podcast will return to work then.
Have a great day friends.

Sunday Morning Musings, Up Before The Sun Edition
Good morning kids. Happy Easter!
I hope that everyone is up and happy, or asleep and dreaming pretty. I've been up since 5:47 with Mommy Z getting ready for the sunrise church service and breakfast. It was awfully pretty out there... but dang was it early. Thank goodness for coffee.
Big, huge, special, one of a kind lovin' to E-ve. She really is the straw that stirs my drink. She makes me happy when skies are grey. I can't wait to be back in the city so that I can see her again.
Today is podcast day. I just have to get home so that I can phone in my participation. I don't think that anyone on the Go Train needs to hear us being ridiculous until it posts. I'm still working on some ideas. But I have a feeling that it will mostly be the three of us being us.
Today is also opening day of the Major League Baseball season. It's a magical and wondrous day that comes but once a year. And with the Red Sox and Yankees going at it in Boston things are sure to start with a bang.
Mommy Z is getting herself ready for church service #2 so I'm gonna wrap things up here.
I hope that no matter what you are celebrating at this time of year, you are able to do it with friends and family.
Thank you for stopping in.
Shalom.

Saturday Morning Musings, Float Your Fanny Edition
Good morning, good morning.
I've coming to you live from the back deck of Mommy Z's house way out in the country. If you Googled Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny you might have an idea where I'm at.
Big smiles and lovin' to E-ve who is back safely in Toronto. And thank you to her for coming to Daddy Z's Easter Dinner last night. She's awesome with my niece and nephew. And my dad and step-mom. Over all, she's pretty darn awesome.
I can hear the geese honking up by the pond. I hope the dog puts the run on them. They make one heck of a mess around here.
Today is Float Your Fanny day and family dinner number 2. Lots going on. And then tomorrow morning it's up crazy early to help Mommy Z get the sunrise church service set up on the beach.
The sun is shining and the weather is getting warmer. It feels like early summer right now. I saw some bass and goldfish swimming around the pond earlier. Made me want to get out a fishing rod.
Update: The dog is doing nothing about the geese.
Big win for the Habs last night. I didn't see the game, but everything that I've seen and read leads me to believe that Jaro Halak stole the show and the 2 points. The points put the Canadiens in 6th place with 4 games to play.
I love hanging out in the country.
Time to go and check the laundry kids. Have a great day. Go Habs Go.

Tuesday Morning Musings, Easter's Coming Edition
Good morning one and all.
Welcome to Tuesday. Glad you could make it.
Big love to E-ve. Hoping that she is feeling much better today than she was last night. Also, big thanks to her for the great pancakes that we had for brunch yesterday. The added chocolate that we forgot was here was a fantastic touch.
And a second thank you for being my biggest fan and strongest supporter when times are good or tough.
The Raptors won last night, can you believe it? With only a few minutes left in the game I tweeted that they were close to breaking my heart again and then bam! they finished a game strong and got a much, much needed W.
Here's one of my favourite quotes from the last little while: "Kids who read comic books are reading."
I wonder if you can make pancakes with yogurt in the batter?
New background on my BB is the DC Trinity logo with Batman at the front. I like it.
I need to get back to Romeo, but I have a feeling that we're going to have a test run this Sunday on the podcast. Probably means we should try to come up with some ideas and names and such. Yikes. Please note that the podcast may not be as family friendly as this blog and Romeo's blog... But those warnings will be made when needed, I promise.
If you're not reading Romeo's blog, why not? www.semi-dailyplanet.blogspot.com
Still trying to figure out what my plans are for Easter weekend. Maybe spending some time with Mommy Z.
The Home Cooking Experiment hasn't been as strict as it once was, but I'm glad to report that I am eating much healthier than I used to. I am also cooking with more veggies and creativity which is good for everyone.
Did I mention that E-ve picked Indiana Jones for date night movies the other day? What's not awesome about that?
I totally got Final Jeopardy last night. Just to let you know.
I think that's all I've got for now kids. As always, check the Twitter feed and Facebook for links and other tidbits.
And if you're only here this one day a week... See you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, New Orleans Is Still Rocking Edition
Howdy partners.
Welcome to the work week. If you were lucky enough to have the weekend off I hope that you enjoyed it. No hard feelings.
Big ups to E-ve for the text I got in the middle of the night. No reason, just a text that made me smile this morning. She really is the awesome.
I also smiled big yesterday when Heath told me that he saw Roy Halladay the other night after he left the bar (Heath not Doc). I love that dude so it was huge. Heath also met Cabbie at the airport last spring on his way to Ottawa. I think I need to hang out with Heath more often so that I can see all of these people.
Quick note: People are going to let you down from time to time. It’s not a reflection of you; it is a reflection of those people. It is how you choose to deal with it that reflects you as a person.
Huge win for the Toronto Raptors last night at home against the defending NBA champions the Los Angeles Lakers. The home town boys won 106-105 on 2 free throws made by Hedu Turkoglu with 1.2 seconds left in the game. I was nervous down the stretch and flipping TV channels back and forth with the NFL play-offs at the same time. What a night in sports.
Turns out that I could be an NFL expert as I did pick the Colts and Saints to meet in the Super Bowl. Even though both teams were down at points during the game, they both found a way to come back and make it to the big game.
The Saints continue to be a great story as the city of New Orleans rebuilds itself after Katrina. Having the pride that they do in a team that has been amazing is a great reminder of the human spirit and also how sports can be bigger than just a game on Sunday.
Rumour is that http://www.msn.ca/ has some behind the scenes something or other on the new Rihanna photo shoot.
I watched most of Chuck last night as the football game overlapped it a little bit due to the over time session. I won’t divulge and secrets or endings, but I was entertained. New characters are always fun, and story lines continue to evolve 5 episodes in to the season. It will be on again tonight for people that were too busy or distracted for the show last night.
The skies have cleared after lots of rain this morning. There are reports that it may rain some more, but the temperature is supposed to dip back below freezing so I’m not sure what will happen.
Talked to Mommy Z on the phone last night. Turns out that she loved Transformers 2 which surprised me a little bit. And she’s cool with the idea of E-ve and I coming to visit for Family Day in February.
I think that’s all for today friends. Have a great one.
