Tuesday Morning Musings, Kobe Or LeBron Edition

Howdy y’all.

Welcome to Tuesday. I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Big lovin’ to E-ve. She is all kinds of awesome. It oozes from her being.

Tried to do a mock fantasy baseball draft this morning on Yahoo.ca. We got a little too busy for me to keep up with my turn or the auction. I’m not sure whether I’ll play in a league this year or not. But if I do I should probably start doing my research.

Curling is on the TV here at the store. Just because the Olympics are over doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy some rocks and ice.

I’m getting excited for the Iron Man 2 release. And E-ve telling me that she wants to see it is a big reason. There is little better than a girl that wants to see a comic book movie. Win!

The news is that Jaro Halak will start in goal tonight for the Habs. With the Lightning scoring goals a pretty good pace I hope he can stand tall. We need all the wins we can get in our last 15 games.

Good luck to the Good Lovelies who have been nominated for Root & Traditional Album of the Year: Group. And since I don’t know anything about any of the nominees I’m thinking that the girls have a pretty good shot at winning. And that would be pretty cool.

Scientists are saying that it’s just coincidence that there have been so many big earthquakes around the world lately. This isn’t a preview of 2012 or anything.

The Raptors are in LA tonight to play the Lakers. It’s a game that would be absolutely amazing to win. But I’m not holding my breath. I don’t recommend that you hold yours either.

If I’m building an NBA team from scratch I’ll take LeBron James with my first overall pick. But if I need 1 shot to win a big game, give me Kobe Bryant. That’s just the way it is.

I looked at a pretty cool bike yesterday. The frame was a weird green, but it was still cool. 27 speeds, disk brakes and street tires. But $970 is a pretty heavy price tag for me.

I’ll stick to the street car.

Seal meat is going to be added to the menu at the Parliamentary restaurant. Let the controversy begin.

I think that’s all for today my friends. Remember to tell the ones that you love how great they are. They deserve it.

And as always, if you’re only here this one day of the week, see you next Tuesday.

Monday Morning Musings, New Orleans Is Still Rocking Edition

Howdy partners.

Welcome to the work week. If you were lucky enough to have the weekend off I hope that you enjoyed it. No hard feelings.

Big ups to E-ve for the text I got in the middle of the night. No reason, just a text that made me smile this morning. She really is the awesome.

I also smiled big yesterday when Heath told me that he saw Roy Halladay the other night after he left the bar (Heath not Doc). I love that dude so it was huge. Heath also met Cabbie at the airport last spring on his way to Ottawa. I think I need to hang out with Heath more often so that I can see all of these people.

Quick note: People are going to let you down from time to time. It’s not a reflection of you; it is a reflection of those people. It is how you choose to deal with it that reflects you as a person.

Huge win for the Toronto Raptors last night at home against the defending NBA champions the Los Angeles Lakers. The home town boys won 106-105 on 2 free throws made by Hedu Turkoglu with 1.2 seconds left in the game. I was nervous down the stretch and flipping TV channels back and forth with the NFL play-offs at the same time. What a night in sports.

Turns out that I could be an NFL expert as I did pick the Colts and Saints to meet in the Super Bowl. Even though both teams were down at points during the game, they both found a way to come back and make it to the big game.

The Saints continue to be a great story as the city of New Orleans rebuilds itself after Katrina. Having the pride that they do in a team that has been amazing is a great reminder of the human spirit and also how sports can be bigger than just a game on Sunday.

Rumour is that http://www.msn.ca/ has some behind the scenes something or other on the new Rihanna photo shoot.

I watched most of Chuck last night as the football game overlapped it a little bit due to the over time session. I won’t divulge and secrets or endings, but I was entertained. New characters are always fun, and story lines continue to evolve 5 episodes in to the season. It will be on again tonight for people that were too busy or distracted for the show last night.

The skies have cleared after lots of rain this morning. There are reports that it may rain some more, but the temperature is supposed to dip back below freezing so I’m not sure what will happen.

Talked to Mommy Z on the phone last night. Turns out that she loved Transformers 2 which surprised me a little bit. And she’s cool with the idea of E-ve and I coming to visit for Family Day in February.

I think that’s all for today friends. Have a great one.
